Tomba 2 is not a mistake. It's up on the PS3 store!

Oh my bad, sorry.
Well it COULD be a mistake, and it wouldn't be the 1st time the blog says something's releasing then it turns out it isn't due to a mistake or some such.

It's okay, can happen. And it's good that it's NOT a mistake. It's odd how it's not up on the US but we still get the US version. So it's possible to get them independently.

Wowzers, thanks for the confirm, gonna make a heads up about it soon.

Is this a worthy sequel? REALLY enjoyed the first on, tempted to pick this up.

Fans are divided on the game because of its tone and setting being more anime influenced with highschool students and the exaggeration that comes with it. I can understand people who get turned off by that, but it's still a very fun game. You can't go wrong with that price if you loved the gameplay of VC1.

I personally loved the game even if it's not as memorable or strong with its cast, setting and tone. VC1 was an amazing game, it's only disappointing if you try to compare it to it, but that speaks to the quality of both games. VC2 is a high quality game too and worth having on the PSP even if it might not be as good as the first one.

Could you elaborate more on the gameplay please? How has it improved from VC1? I wouldn't mind getting it and I'll try to 'stomach' the anime-ness.

The gameplay system is largely the same but it has been made more addictive. New classes have been added and there is a new system to branch these classes. In order to get stronger classes, you'll have to find the right components for every character. Characters each receive these components depending on how they're evaluated with a mission. But the drop is actually very random which has frustrated fans. I didn't mind personally because the game lends itself very well for portable and playing it over and over. Previous classes have been rebalanced and changed a bit. The game also has many more filler missions, reaching something like 200 missions including optional. That might sound negative to you if you're not into that, but I felt right at home. Most missions tend to be short. There are more minor touches that make the flow of the gameplay better but my memory is too hazy (got it day 1 and played it to death back then). I think there are also more options to tinker with your characters and tank. Tank options are much more deep and rewarding. Characters also learn new potentials in a slightly different way, you get to choose and delete which potentials you want if I remember things right.

The gameplay in VC1 was very fun, with quality over quantity. VC2 refines the gameplay system, makes it better but the game's content is more quantity over quality. The game itself is much longer than VC1. Don't be surprised to play at least 60 hours if you want to do every mission and make some characters better. It's more about grinding to get your ultimate characters but it's not necessary to finish the game. I think I played between 70-90 hours.

Seriously, you're crazy to not get the game with that price. Set your expecations with VC1 aside and you're going to have a wonderful time.

Hmm for that price it's hard not to just grab it, but ur write-up made me rethink. Will have to ponder some more but thanks, you helped alot!

At least a few people on the PlayStation forums are having the same issue. Although some seem to think its because the store is in the middle of updating. Mine was frozen last night and this morning too. Probably after work today as well.

Are the official forums the only place to formally lodge a bug complaint?

Just got an error while playing the first mission of JSR during a tag sequence.

Anyone else get this?

I posted it in another thread as well, but I think it may be in the wrong section so I posted it here.

Once the application error pops up, it asks you to report it etc. I just closed the game and started it up again and it went away

Still a bit worrying.

So was Prinny and other NISA finally put on sale or is this week just the Disgaea 4 content?

Gamasutra.
Any info about the Doom pack? If it is as decent as BFG versions I might be interested. Yes, that's sad :(

Is it MP compatible with BFG?
Anyone? Bueller?

Edit: Fine. I found the answer myself. :p

Online multiplayer requires a connection. Splitscreen multiplayer/co-op does not require that you be online.

There’s no support for cross-platform play. It’s also worth noting that they’re not compatible with DOOM 1 & 2 included with the BFG Edition.

Hope that answers everything.
What a pile of horse manure.
