Man, I was really looking forward to getting a Vita next week. I had time scheduled away from work and everything. 100 bucks for 40 bucks (at best) of shit I don't want. Unbelievable.

Only a dumb company like Sony could make me think there's something to this iOS stuff...

You mean you don't know what you pre-ordered for ? @_@
The one who's careless or dumb might be yourself. Good thing you have friends here to remind you.

Yeah, you guys are all suckers for buying this stuff. Me though, I'd never buy a 32gb memory card for $100.

Not really. I pre-ordered a 32Gb memory because I need one, and I can afford $100 for it. If you don't think it's worth it, that's your call. There is no need to insult other people.

No, I'm just being an ass. I have a FEB pre-ordered so I know about how it feels.

I just thought Duffyside was being facetious.

What are you talking about? Edit: Oh, the pre-order stuff. Just wait a week bra.

I bought a 16GB card for PSP for about.. eh, 160USD? :P 100USD for 32GB sounds fair to me. Although the 4GB cards should have come with each Vita sold.

Well, some people don't mind waiting one more week. It's fine either way as long as you know what you're in it for.

If you were that hyped, you would have imported two months ago.

That may not be true. Japan launch 3G units are locked to Docomo. US launch 3G units are locked to AT&T. Why would I want a Japan 3G unit ? Sony said they will only look at unlocking the units later.

Asian 3G units are unlocked.

False . . . I don't want some jank foreign system. I want the real-deal with localized materials, warranty, etc.

Pfft, not excited enough then I guess. All that is pointless. Nobody is going to read the manual, and if you wanted to you could read the digital version. Warranty? You'd likely never use it and since you like wasting money by getting FEB, just buy another unit anyway.

I couldn't really imagine being hyped for this and not getting a FEB . . . seems pretty hypocritical to me.
... Because if we're excited for something we'd be hypocrites for irrationally jumping a week early? That sounds like the logic of a child who has yet to learn how to wait, it's JUST a week, even if it's excruciating you'll forget about it soon enough, let alone other factors like using that money for more of the Vita games I'm excited about, or a 32 GB memory card (supposing this was the Wi-Fi version isntead), or just pocketing it. That, and getting the system a week early isn't going to get me Gravity Daze or Ys Celceta any sooner, and those are the two exclusives I want most.

Yes, but the locked 3G bundles (both in Japan and US) have free game and free one month subscription (free 100 hours in Japan).

That's your business. Other people may have other reasons like giving it as a birthday gift on-time, or getting it in time for travel, etc. Who are you to judge them ?

Ya, but the point is it's unlocked and you can use it in your local territory. Who cares about the freebees since if you're importing to begin with, you're not caring about value. You're caring about getting it early.

That's overly simplistic. People can care about BOTH getting it early, and getting a good deal. Life is not always 1 or 0.

Actually, I'm only against the notion that it's hypocritical if you're excited but unwilling to spend the extra $100 to buy it early. If you want to do that then that's definitely your call, nevermind the cases where NOT waiting that week makes a very real difference.

Edit: Slight wording change.

Yes, I don't see why either approach is bad if you know what you're in it for.

wonder what that music player will do.... by touching screen, pressing button...you can manipulate your own mp3s?

i think vita would be a good platform for mixing songs..like the Korg DS... apparently that thing was pretty advanced and quite useful

It plays music. That's all. And you can use it for custom soundtracks.

microsoft should jump on the portable game scene and make a Halo for it....with dual thumbsticks.... :o

has there been any more *fun* fps multiplayer than Halo for a console... the only thing more fun was Counterstrike on the PC back when the game wasn't made retarded by the devs and not overrun with haxors :o with every new release, they just kept making the game more and more noob friendly....

NAX Music Player (Arc System Works) | Trailer | A free media player. You can manipulate the sound with the Vita's buttons. Less than 10MB to download and new content will be available in the future.

manipulate the sound.. :o

This is the only thing I can find about that NAX Music Player. Is this the default music player or something else ?

• The audio engine of its own configuration, the tempo of the music and song, and can be analyzed with high accuracy and automatic vowel of the voice part.

-Can do not only play music simply by analysis, to automatically create rhythm game.

Rhythm games are not only button on the body, also use the touch screen before rear.

• It is also features dancing and music players appeared on the screen avatar, game characters to sing.

• Built-in as well as (turntables) with plug-in karaoke scoring function, DSP high effector function, VITA JOKEY.

Capacity and ultra-compact app is less than 10MB. DL is also possible in the time line 3G. Price is free.

• Additional content will be delivered also.

really bad translation, but i think i can make out that it can make its own rhythm game with YOUR mp3s...

and make karaoke tracks out of your mp3s...and judge how well you can sing compared to the original...

kinda sounds promising . there's quite a big niche for this kind of stuff. like dance dance revolution or guitar hero/rock band.....kinda stuff.

What I think many many people would enjoy on the Vita is a game like Audiosurf.....................................................

how many posts until i can make my own threads? just curious :o

・Thanks to its own audio engine, you can manipulate the tempo, rhythm, voice parts of the tracks with high precision
・It not only plays the tracks, but can also automatically create rhythm games out of them
・Those games use both touch screen and the back panels plus the face buttons
・Avatar can dance to the music and be used as a singing game character
・The player is equipped with karaoke game (scoring system included), high level DSP Effect (whatever that is) and VITA JOKEY (mixing table) plugins
・It's a highly compact (less than 10MB) free application, that you can download even on a 3G connection (since there's a <20MB download limit on 3G atm)
・There are plans to release additional contents
Quick and dirty translation of that player's features.
Turntable means the DJ Mixing table? I'm not really familiar with the lingo.

I've flipflopped a bunch of times on what to get, but I'm finally locked in to getting the FEB along with a 32gb card and Wipeout. Thanks to some trade-ins to Amazon, it will only cost me $290. Amazon didn't have release day delivery for Lumines, so I'll get it off of PSN along with Persona 3 and Jeanne D'Arc. I'm really excited about getting some old PSP games. I'm going to fill that 32gb card up.:)

I don't understand how Hots Shots Golf is sub-native res.

It's golf, man.

Clap Hanz aren't exactly Naughty Dog.

I have my fingers crossed for a native res patch, but lets just hope instead for a Hot Shots Golf 7 quickly (never got one on PS3...)

I keep hearing how bad the graphics are...unless people are exaggerating. :-P

everything is relative. HSG on Vita is clearly based on the PS3 game, just that unfortunately it isn't running in native resolution (probably *because* its using PS3 assets and not properly optimised)

is there any chance at all that these sub native res game is so the game is less taxing on the Vita so it doesn't drain as much battery? some full res game I've seen like power smash tennis is really really nice to look at. make you really wish Uncharted can have that kind of image quality

nah it's done because they are pushing more in another area, still going to zap that battery.

what an awesome thread!! just wondering, have anyone seen any vita ads on tv yet?? i am starting to get worried!!

on us ps blog they mentioned in reply to two comments that the ads are getting ready for the launch day and that you'll see them everywhere...we can only hope this blitz campaign will work

I don't understand the 'hate' for the FEB bundle. You're paying extra to get the console early, fine. Everyone in this thread, that wants the Vita, is probably a big fan of handheld gaming, Sony and/or a hardcore gamer. We're the kind of people that import games from Japan for three times the price they cost just because they won't be released here. Therefore getting a less than great bundle is a bonus as I imagine a lot of us would buy the Vita for an extra $50-100 on it's own just to get it a week early.

I know if there was a way for me to get a Vita on the 15th in the UK I would pay a little extra.
