Damn this madness, now I'm probably going to the near by Toys R Us and seeing if they're doing preorders. Doesn't look like you can preorder on their site and do local pick ups, and a midnight launch would allow me to casually walk across the street and grab it at launch before going to bed.

Yeah, we're still going to need that software too. Hopefully that goes up soon. I would like full media go software for the mac as well so I can browse PSN from my laptop.

Why don't they just make the entire store browseable by web? I mean they already had the entire store coded in HTML for the PS3 launch.

Dump saves on your PS3 or the right folder on Windows I believe. Search for the Vita content manager, install it, and see where it wants save data kept.

Cool, I'll try copying over my PSP saves to the PS3 tonight.

My PSP memory card has a crap ton of stuff on it. Wipeout Pure DLC, Megaman Powered Up DLC and save games galore. I want it all on my Vita.

I know, it's been strange. I'm actually surprised they didn't splurge for a Super Bowl commercial to promote it.

After losing as much money as they have been for years, that's not a very responsible thing to do. Even though it would have tied in nicely with the US launch.

How come I never heard of Gravity Rush till I got to the Gamestop Demo?

Your Gamestop has Vita on floor to demo? I wish mine did. They have it back behind a plastic bubble. All I can do is look at it. I'd like to hold it to see how it feels.

Oddly enough, no one seemed to be interested in it but me. I played for quite a while. Bomba? :(

Hey guys this question may have already been asked but when using remote play to play a ps3 game such as uncharted 2, how does one use the L2 and R2 triggers and the L3 R3 buttons? Do you get to assign them?

No new PS3 games have been added to the remote play list yet, however hopefuly more will be added. Yoshida said they were working on it and demo'd Killzone and talked about LBP2.

If/when it does happen, you could just use the rear touch for lr2 and the front touch for lr3. Or the remote play pp would allow you to remap controls.

I don't know why SCEA is so quiet on the digital front. We are almost one week from launch. In every single Vita game Playstation Blog post people are asking about the digital version and Rubenstein constantly responds Sony has nothing to announce yet on the digital front. We know every game is coming to PSN, so what is with the hold up?

I'm wondering if part of them holding off was anything to do with retail. This is the first time that every game released on the platform will be available digitally on console. I wonder if they are holding off to try and allow as many people as they can buy from retail to keep them sweet?

From the manual:

You can also charge your system by connecting it to a USB device such as a computer using the USB cable. When charging your system using a USB device, turn the power off completely. You cannot charge your system using a USB device while the system is in standby mode. To turn the power off completely, press and hold the power button for two seconds and then tap [Power Off] on the screen that appears.
Ok, according to that page, charging from the power adaptor (also via the same USB port) will allow you to play at the same time.

You can charge vita through usb connected to a pc, but they said it will charge slower than connecting it to an ac adapter.

Where did you hear that ToMmY?

The AC adapter provides power via the USB so it's probably just a matter of the voltage and amperage that stops a chunk of USB ports on PC/laptops providing enough for it to charge.

What I don't know is if the portable charger they are selling will charge while the Vita is on/in standby or not.

I don't think Bomba. There could have been so many reasons people weren't jumping at the chance to demo it.

It's going to bomb (early on). Hard. I'd be completely floored if this sold better than the 3DS did early on. Sony isn't even bothering to try to get people to care about their new product, it's amazing really. I'll believe this mythical advertising campaign when I actually see it.

Yeah I'm really surprised by the lack of ads. I didn't even know Gravity Rush existed till today and it's more interesting than Uncharted to me lol

Velma Pony speaks the truth!

Has anyone figured out how to transfer a PSP game save across to PS Vita memory card? I'm pretty far into Hot Shots Tennis and I'd hate to have start over on my Vita.

you can copy the save to the PS3/PC and transfer it across using the content manager. There's a section for save game data transfering - i've done it for Monster Hunter 3rd and it was painless.

Adhoc Party doesn't work for Vita games right? Do we know if there are any plans to incorporate that into the system for games that are adhoc only?

Alrighty, I know that Vita can only be one region at a time for PS Vita games, but what if we have multiple PSP games from different regions... Is it the same, that since it's tied to the other account, I would have to reset the Vita each time....

If so, reallllllly annoying...

It's frustrating not to know if I'll be able to play Gravity Rush around launch. The release date went from 22nd, to 23rd, to TBC in Europe in just a few days. Seriously Sony, get your act together!

Does the Vita auto connect to Wifi routers that are remembered (like laptops), unlike the bullshit that the PSP does (connecting to the last known/connected network even if it's way out of range)?

I believe it will auto connect only when it needs an internet connection. Like signing into PSN.

Which is one of the reasons I HAD to have the FEB bundle. I need to hone my 3 click skills as quickly as possible. :) The party chat will make the tournaments run a lot smoother as well. Hopefully we'll have a large Hot Shots community again.

That would be awesome.

Now someone other than me make the OT ... :p

just FYI, Sony Europe seem quite bullish.

It's six years old and still the UK's fastest-selling games console at launch - but Sony is betting big on PSP's successor, telling Eurogamer: "We will beat that with Vita."

"We're planning for a condition of success," PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan told us last week in London. "Launch quantities will sell out - I think that's looking pretty certain".

Pressed on whether he believed that meant Vita would beat PSP's figure, Ryan said: "Subject to supply, yes, it is our belief that we will beat that with Vita."

PSP, which launched in the UK in September 2005, sold over 185,000 units at launch. This number was expected to be toppled earlier this year by Nintendo's 3DS, with the company predicting only the week before launch it would sell "comfortably over 150,000, if not more like 200,000".

In the event, the system sold 113,000, according to Nintendo's own internal figures. One reason cited for 3DS' relatively sluggish performance since has been a lack of must-buy games - a situation Sony is keen to avoid.
"Looking at the competition, perhaps the launch line-up was not as strong as they'd have liked it to be," said Ryan. "We have always had in our minds that we needed to have a great line-up at launch and we're very pleased with how that's panning out.

"I think it's comfortably the strongest line-up we've had for any platform launch and I've been around since the year dot."

Sony confirmed it's first-party Vita launch line-up for Europe last week.
Asked if the system had a 'killer app' for day one, Ryan highlighted Uncharted: Golden Abyss as "looking very much in that category".

Meanwhile, Ryan also revealed that, while he expected Vita initially to appeal "to our typical core gaming market", the company would "take it younger rather more quickly and perhaps deliberately than we did with PSP".

It'll be interesting no doubt.

I just think a few too many opinions are being swayed too heavily with the 3DS launch which had 3key things against it in my view all which have finally been rectified to one degree or another.

You guys are making me want to grab Hot Shots at launch :S I must resist and wait for the sales.

I think traditionally Hot Shots is a series that doesn't drop in price much, certainly not in the launch period. I remember this being an issue for HSG on the PS3 -- no real sales for a long time. I think it's largely due to the fact that it's a game people really hang onto since you can really play it forever.

I would probably buy it just for the asynchronous multiplayer games we're bound to have on here.

IIRC HSG5 is one of the worst selling first party PS3 games in North America.

Well, prior to Move.

That's why I pre-ordered on Amazon/US. They have it for $29.99 while MSRP is $39.99.

I'm betting the game will be 25% to 33% off by launch and if not, within the first 30 days. In fact it's already 25% off at Amazon.

Is it a good idea to create a thread about the Amazon.fr deal, once Europe wakes up?

Not sure if it's warranted, but I'm sure a lot of people would like to know that such a good deal is out there...?

Damn you guys, just added Hot Shots to my Amazon order. I'm not familiar with the series but it sounds like a good portable game. I think I'll wait on Rayman instead, but only because I just played the crap out of the PS3 version.

Wipeout 2048
Uncharted GA

Super Stardust...

Better stop there.
