Some quick shots of the inside of Gravity Daze's case and the artbook.

Doesn't come with a full blown instruction manual. The reference guide is only two pages. The artbook is also quite lovely.

What's the deal with GPS? The Official Sony page in the US and Amazon.com say the WiFi model can do it but the UK official specs say it doesn't and you need the 3G model instead

The WIFI Vita (US) has Skyhook. Not entirely sure how it works but I'm guessing that has something to do with it.

Still debating on which games to buy on launch day.

Uncharted is a lock, then Wipeout and Fifa.

And a memory card. What size are you guys getting? Do I have to import a 32gb one?

why would we report amazon when they haven't even shipped them? it's extremely likely that it's just a bug and won't get shipped.
Amazon doesn't have a habit of charging people early for products and then shipping them a week later.

Telus, on the other hand, dinged me $150 on a 32GB Playbook order that didn't even go through. I've got to call them up and hassle them about it tomorrow. :(

Ugly how?

I mean Hot Shots always looks . . . like Hot Shots.

Exactly. Very understated graphics, still the best golf engine of any of the currently in production titles. It may have the most ridiculous characters and crazy shots with odd courses, but the physics of it are pure. Wind, lies, greens, weather, terrain differentials, it's all there.

dude you are awesome!

You are awesome-er!

Do you run Near Vita?

yes I do!

those are your vids? i love them! i won't enter the contest though because i am already getting uncharted for 25 and would feel like a douche for cutting out a gaffer who would otherwise pay 50.

Those aren't my videos. I just run NearVita.com and wanted to try and get the word out about my site. I figured Kyle could help with his large number of viewers. His videos are pretty flippin' awesome.

Lots of really bad, low res textures, the shadows aren't so great and it just kinda looks blurry or fuzzy. Everything other than the character models look like touched up PSP assets.

That's pretty disappointing. I still don't think ill budge from my preorder because I love the series, but I was hoping for something better than upscaled psp.

Looks like my made-up solution is the only backwards compatibility solution that could work for those of us with big UMD libraries, whose only fault was to trust Sony's previous portable format, and to pass on the PSP Go:

Since the UMD Coversion program is scrapped in North America

For me, the bad taste in my mouth from this (repeated) carrot dangle is most annoying. PS3 selling less than 360. Vita selling less than 3DS. Surely I'm about to hear how unimportant backwards compatibility with the previous generation is. If so, why even tease it, or mention it at all?

Did anyone read the article my mock-up links to? Doesn't it seem like a better Sony to have to deal with?

Alright. Two cents contributed. Go back to your hype. You can have it.

You are overdoing it, you pasted your mockup at least twice in every single Vita thread. Haha.

If I had to choose only 2 of the following games which ones should I choose?
Uncharted
Hot shots golf
Wipeout
Ultimate marvel vs capcom

Ehh I guess this decision would have been easier if gravity daze was a launch title.

There's noway it looks just like an up-scaled PSP version surely? that has to be an exaggeration, I got the PSP version of hotshots and it looks radically different in terms of gfx compared to gameplay videos I've seen of the Vita version.

Long time lurker, first time poster (just got validated).

Beautiful. How many pages does the art book contain, and is it hardcover? Hopefully we get that as a pre-order bonus in the US too.

The only two that don't come off as shovel ware launch window shit IMO.

One shows off the potential of the graphics, and the other has replay value and online play.

I've tried to go black as far as youtube views and romantichero's impression is the first I heard. I am still very excited about the game though.

I'm surprised at how different everyone's launch lineup preferences seem to be. I'm just getting Lumines and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (maybe Gravity Rush, if I have the money), but I see plenty of people talking up Wipeout, Uncharted, Hot Shots, and others. The only near-universal thing I've noticed is indifference or hate for Little Deviants.

Yep, I've always been one for less console-like experiences on my portables, which is why I went with Lumines and HSG (two of my top-5 favorite series, so that helps), but there's something for everybody.

It'd probably be more indifference than hate if it wasn't the game int he First Edition Bundle. I understand Uncharted won't be as kid friendly, but you could at least stick in something inoffensive yet actually liked such as Hot Shots Golf in or something. Then again I guess even with HSG tanking on PS3 it'd still be more desireable than Little Deviants, and so they need to sell it somehow. Wouldn't be surprised if HSG did better on this than PS3 anyway.

I went crazier for the PSP launch and the games in the Vita launch are even better overall. HSG, Wipeout, and Rayman at retail and SSD plus Escape Plan on PSN. Will buy some PS1 and PSP games too.

HSG is like the ultimate portable game for me. I can play it while doing pretty much anything else, like watching TV with the gf.

If I still had my PSP Go I would play it while Wipeout 2048 loads a new track.

First Euro-GAF gets a discount, then Canada gets it early. Man, the US got Robbed. BOYCOTT!

And NZ get free Uncharted and free Wipeout 2048. About bloody time, you don't know how many decades PAL gamers have been shafted.

I'll probably pick up Motorstorm RC when it is available, and either Katamari or Rayman.

Really looking forward to playing the Lunar PSP remake. I had to skip it because of my distaste for the psp-3000 and have dying to play it.

The second course actually looks a good deal better than the first, which is exactly the same first course from the PSP game (and possibly others, it's been a while since I last played one of these games). Still, regardless of how it looks it's still Hot Shots. Which is to say, this game is really fun so far.

whew ok ... good

don't freak me out in the middle of me building up steam on my hsg hype

I'd buy the games with the highest replay value and then buy the other two when they drop in price.

or

I'd buy the games with Online Pass and pick up the others when they're cheaper second hand.
