Touch functions are completely optional and they actually work very well for people grown up playing Angry Birds and such.

No, it doesn't look like a jagged mess. Buy it.

Thanks, looks like Uncharted and Dynasty Warriors are it for me. Ugh why Q? why did you not just do the Lumines ES OST in house...so many bad tracks....

Sorry for the many questions but: Doesn't the Sony screen protector have two? Is it possible to use the second for the back touchpad?

Thats a good question, should you apply one to the rear panel as well? Will it even stick to it?

yes it does. i didn't really think of that though. no offense to those who use it on the backpad, but it just seems bizarre to me. why would you ever be looking at the back of the system? i'd rather save it for the front to have an extra.

Just people reporting that the back gets scratched easily. That's my reasoning at least.

Just found the list of what's compatible on the Vita in terms of PSP software.

Me & My Katamari is missing.

Oh that's right, they'd rather you just pony up the money to get the new one.

Got my first Vita game in anticipation of US launch (Tales of Innocence R). Man, I didn't realize how tiny the cases were. I think it's a bad idea because you can barely fit any screenshots on the back now and screenshots on the packaging sell the game to people window shopping. Tales has 2 pics and that's it.

23rd March release date? I thought people were already getting theirs...
Im assuming thats just a mistake.
Their Hori screen protector pack and silicone casing all seem to be feb 22nd though...
Hmm
The silicone case is one reason why I am looking at larger carrying cases, as I assume that the extra bulk added by the silicone will make my Vita not fit in most of the normal sized cases.

Like Toki said, reports say that the touchpad is easily scratchable, considering it's always touching the ground when you lay it down.

For those of you looking to purchase a digital copy of Valkyria Chronicles II for Vita, please note that there are two listings for the game on the PSN store. There is the original price, $40.00, for just the game. There is also a $22.00 bundle that includes the game and all of the DLC.

This is confusing, and if I wasn't just browsing the PSN store for random things, I never would have realized this bundle existed (and repurchased the game at $40.00). So obviously get the bundle, not just the game! You'll be saving money and getting extra missions. :)

I've been debating keeping my Go as a collector's piece as it was really forward thinking in a lot of ways in regards to digital delivery, but I have to wonder if I can't just buy another one a few months from now when the price totally falls out from under it.

Yeah, they'll definitely be cheap very soon.

I believe it's $50 or so when used towards a Vita purchase.

Hmm... guess I should go with Best Buy.

DS and 3DS games have sold fine with little real estate on them.

Can you clarify? Do you mean it comes in standard case as retail ver does?

Yep, it does.

Try downloading the PSP game to your PS3 first, then copying it over via USB. It'll probably work.

According to this thread and the comments on there, many others can be put on the Vita via the PS3.

That's really strange that the games can't be downloaded strait to the Vita, but can be transferred from a PS3... What's the point?

Anyways, I'm just happy to see that Trails in the Sky is on the list as I've been putting this game off till I get my Vita.

The PSP games are already up in the PS3 store, whereas they probably have to be added to the Vita store which takes time. Simple admin reasons most likely.

can't you download to PC using media go, then transfer to vita using content manager? If its only direct or via PS3 thats quite limiting

Nope. But people like keeping everything scratch free. It's why people get those full body protectors for their phones.

I bought one of those ugly clear cases for my 3DS and boy, I don't regret it. Sure, it looks like ass but almost a year now and the console is scratch free, while the case has some scratches. I'm aware the plastic in the cases are more scratchable but I prefer not taking my chances. Since Vita is so sexy looking, I'm thinking about buying the screen protector and touchpad protector and put it in a pouch.

And If I don't own a PC...

Sweet, paypal me over $200 for a copy of Windows.

people are providing answers and you're just replying with constant attitude... it's likely the store isn't fully loaded for vitas yet since the vita hasn't launched in na/eu, so you will just have to wait until you can download your game directly to your vita.

The guy isn't even buying one for quite a while.
He's just being contrarian and snide for no reason.

The Barrier Chief protector has a 2nd piece specifically molded to wrap around and cover the rear touchpad. It looked very impressive from the demonstration video on their site. The front doesn't look like it will be as easy to apply as the Hori but pretty darn close.

I'll have a better sense of how easy the protector goes on when I put it on my new system tonight.

So is Amazon.ca still shipping out Vita's early? If so is it just the first edition bundle or are they shipping out just the hardware as well?
Amazon.ca only shipped out standalone Wi-Fi units ordered on Tuesday and Wednesday this week before they switched the release date back over to the 22nd of February. Anyone buying now will need to wait and we haven't heard about any FEBs being shipped out early in this batch, either. I believe the issue was specific to the Wi-Fi standalone SKU.

Can't get what right ? The unit is not launched in US yet.

Might want to wait to see if the PSP games you want is on the PSN store post launch so that you can download to Vita directly.

Just cancelled my Amazon order, only to re-order with a different pre-order configuration (wouldn't let me bundle other orders with my existing delivery).

My old pre-order was listed as "Not Yet Dispatched", whereas my new order is "Dispatching Soon". I'm in the UK, by the way.

Errm.. reason to be excite? Or is this the case for everybody now?

I just think it's pretty BS that Sony can't get this right. They're not new to this market.

I don't think anyone's going to argue with you that not having Mac support is silly. I felt the same way when I got one of the original iPods and they didn't have Windows support.

Why the fuck are you asking for 'help' if you don't even have a Vita ordered?

And if you have a 3DS, I don't think you have ANY reasons to bitch to Sony about 'not getting things right' in the online space. Wtf

I thought Mac support was going to be added via patch?

Or was I mistaken with that?

It's going to be released this or next week.

Mac support is coming.

well you could help out by explaining simply that you have a mac, rather than short comments like 'you assume i have a PS3' and 'if I dont' own a PC...', no need to be obtuse

Is mac getting media go? Sony mentioned about mac but I thought that might only be the content manager for backups etc, no good for downloading.

I think I ran media go via parallels a few years back, that could be an option?

Darn, should of been paying closer attention to this thread the last couple days. Oh well, less than 2 weeks to go now!
