If you dig old school Tenchu style games, Shinobido 2 seems to be pretty meaty, lots of missions and a whole "play this faction against that faction for your own gain" sub-system. Uncharted seems pretty...Uncharted-y too, so there's that. I've got my eye on Ninja Gaiden Sigma + come Tuesday....Syndicate just got dropped to bargain bin for me.

Does Shinobido 2 have unlockable playable characters? A weird thing to ask, but I'm always curious about extra characters or alternate costumes in games like Shinobido 2.

So I caved and picked up Wipeout and a 32GB memory card. Do I need to activate the 3G on my Vita to use the GPS and Near? I tried both Maps and Near today at work where I dont have wifi and both things kept saying could not connect.

Nope, you don't need to activate a 3G plan to use the GPS and near.

You can do it right from the Vita, but I kept running into errors. I'm going to try again later tonight, but I lost patience with it on the first day. I think you can do it online as well, which might be a more stable experience right now.
I ran into this too, I wouldn't even bother doing it on the Vita. AT&T's website seems to bug the fuck out if you enter numbers in a box that also includes letters, so good luck getting a password that isn't easily cracked.

You should check out some gamestops in your area...several of them in my area don't seem to know the street dates for those games, and I've already seen Shiniobido 2 available at several. I already picked up Touch my Katamari from one, and I know that's a next week title.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm buying digitally. 。・゜・(ノД`)・゜・。

But if you don't have wifi connected or a 3G plan, Near will only store your GPS info to use next time you connect.

I'm not sure about character unlocks yet, I'm only an hour or so in. It reminds me of Tenchu Z though, with tons of options, not in the overall budget feel and crap controls. It seems like it would though, there is a ton of depth to it, so I can't imagine it doesn't....unless they're going the DLC route, and it is Scamco published, so.....

Sweet, thank you, purchase confirmed! Does it look any better running on Vita or is it the same? Also, why in the purple fuck aren't Phantasy Star Portable & PSP2 Vita compatible Sega???? You hate my monies?

I think the OLED screen makes the game look better. Its certainly more colorful then when I was playing the game on my GO, that's for sure.

Darn, thanks though.

Anybody playing Escape Plan? it is REALLY pissing me off right now.. I am on the pinch n' squeal level.. To dash I need to "squeeze" him by pressing the front and back touch screens... they don't do anything. Am I missing something? I can't proceed past this level because the fucking dash doesn't work.

never mind.. The coffee gives you boost that you need..

I didn't get an answer last page, but maybe somebody who knows didn't see it.

I have the 3G plan now. If I have WiFi and 3G on, and I'm in a WiFi network, will it use my 3G data while I'm doing stuff?

Do you have front & back fingers positioned on Lil? If so, and you're doing at "tap squeeze", it should work. I beat the game tonight & had no control issues, but it may take some getting used to.

Anyone has blazblue? What's the 3G online feature in that game? I remember saying they were gonna put it in, but I'm not sure what they have implemented...

Want some psp suggestions. Also, can't decide between monster hunter and dissidia 012 :'(

I only played the original dissidia, so I don't know much about 012.

I think they are both great games, but monster hunter for me was the best game on the system. So I would recommend monster hunter.

I have blazblue but I don't see any 3G online feature. But I only played an hour so something might be there. But I just checked the options are there is no mention of 3G.

Go to att.com/buyasession (may not work on chrome)
Login and select your vita plan and somewhere you can apply the promo (I believe it is under add a plan).

It's not really an obvious step so,
Anyone who signed up for the 3G plan for SSD make sure you've applied the promo.

OK, I did that. It was called "PSVITAPROMO1" but it does not mention a free game. All I got was: DataConnect Month Pass 250MB cost $0.

Should there be the game listed as well?

Thanks for the replies, duders. I've never used a 3G plan before. Being reminded that it's 250MB means I don't think I'll even bother at the moment. The thing I most want out of 3G is the ability to download the Bombcast while on the road on Tuesdays. The average 'cast these days is like 85 MBs. So... there would go all my bandwidth right there.

Eff ATT. Maybe in a year or two if they get their shit together.

I pre-ordered this case:

I honestly think data will get more expensive in the future, not cheaper.

Why the heck doesn't ModNation Racers have online multiplayer? I mean I knew it didn't, I'm not surprised or anything, but I was just looking at some pretty screen shots and it really pisses me off that you can't race online.

Totally unacceptable.

Rushed out for launch is probably the biggest reason.

I ordered this case. I remember one of the gafer having this. Is it good? The only problem I fear is that the white will get dirty easily.

WiFi unit doesn't actually have a GPS chip. Only the 3G unit does. WiFi unit uses Skyhook's hotspot bouncing for relative approximate locations. I've heard filling this out helps.

I have the First Edition bundle. I should have said that in my question. Anyway, do I need to buy a 3G plan for the GPS to actually function? You'd think that the GPS would get the coordinates and load maps and such with whatever internet connection is active on the Vita.

Really? Well, it is. FF10 is getting a HD port and many people think Type-0 will be ported to it too for its Western release.

But I'd suggest playing other JRPGs like the Kiseki and Persona games.

If only Atlus games were not $40 still on PSN, I emailed their support about it cause it just doesn't make sense. P2 is a PS1 game 'enhanced' port, and P3P is a slightly enhanced but somewhat dumbed down PS2 game, they should not be $40.

Do you happen to know how it opens? It sort of looks like that pouch Sony is releasing.

It opens like that. It is similar pouch to the one sony is releasing in US. But the one releasing in US (Travel pouch or something) is a lot bigger and suppose to fir the cables and charger. But this one is a lot smaller, so it fits vita, 3 memory card case, and maybe earphone according to the info.

I don't have it myself yet, so I can't exactly confirm.

If it's just for downloading, you should use the free AT&T WiFi Hotspots. It's much faster that way, and doesn't count towards your 3G 250Mb limit.

The 3G data plan includes free ATT WiFi Hotspots access nationwide. So if you paid for 1 month, you should be able to use them during that period.

When you get it post impressions, and maybe pics if you can.
