Holy shit, you can fight in AR mode. Now this game is really on my radar.

Reality Fighters am cry.

I had no interest in this or Fifa, but both having the different features (fifa w/ rear track pad shooting) and ar fighting are making me want to get these, wish they weren't $40 :x

Crud, my bad. I thought Amazon.co.uk would ship it, and I just saw they didn't. Poop.

I got the CTA Digital one off Amazon, though I have no intention of taking it anywhere really.

What about one of the Hori Hard Pouches? Not the cases that Amazon has, but the ones from Play-Asia? Those look solid.

looks pretty nice and not bad of a price either....

During the 3DS I helped compile a list of games purchased by GAF members to try and determine attach rate, most popular game etc. Is anyone doing this for the Vita Launch? If not I'd happily do it again, but I obviously can't start threads.

Does anyone know when Mortal Kombat is supposed to be out?
I believe we're getting it in May, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

That sounds fun! Do you have a link to the 3DS thread? I must have missed it.

Beginning of day 2 to clense my FEB case. It still smells but the combination of good cologne and burning tires is somewhat appealing. I will actually let it air out the next 2 days. This is a process ><

Keep us posted. I put 4 dryer sheets inside mine and wrapped it in 2 more from the outside. I'll give it 'till tuesday to see if that helped.

Some more OS details

Live Area notifications for the OS, not game

Live Area for a game, Hot Shots in this case. Note the friend bubbles to show you their activities within that particular game. Sort of like Steam communities.

Multitasking. All the apps you see are running on top of the game with no issue. I do believe there's a limit or the top only shows up to 6 bubbles.

It was kinda done for multiplayer and PSN titles. Not quite the same, but it's a good place to start if you want to do it again (link is in OP).

That looks great. I'm so shocked that Sony not only didn't fuck it up, but have produced something genuinely competitive in a post iPhone world. I hope it sells like gangbusters and they understand how to scale developer licenses for the thing. Ie, put Angry Birds on it for a dollar, but also things like Groove Coaster and small games coming in constantly.

Wow they really put a lot of effort into Mortal Kombat. 60 fps and the scenery still have their dynamic/moving elements. Lots of extra modes and mini games as well.

old? 1up interview with Yoshida about Vita creation. great read because Yohida is always great in interviews

http://www.1up.com/news/inside-vita-development

it's interesting to read which team come up with which Vita features. I guess that's part of reason why game like Ruin have cloud save feature while no other game use it etc. I hope moving forward from now on, developer will better utilize Vita features in a more inclusive way for all Vita games, like cross platform play becoming standard etc.

Do we know whether its new stuff? Or console content?

I hadn't read it. Great interview.

Man I really hope they put the wifi model up on Sony's website soon. They have the FEB up there now, so there's no reason to think that they won't come launch day, but I'm the paranoid type.

I need to order through Sony's website, because I have reward points with them, which will make my wifi Vita like $35.

It does, but I have a major problem with that trailer. My my understanding is that that AR stuff featured for about half of the trailer isn't actually part of the game. Can anyone clarify?

This is what Ed Boon says on Twitter:

Augmented Reality feature in MK Vita? No, just a really cool promotional video. http://shoryuken.com/2012/02/16/mortal-kombat-vita-trailer-shows-off-augmented-reality-features/

DAY 10

TOURNEY #11 2 minutes!

Get in now, in planning phases. You should be able to still join. You got about 3 minutes but you have to search it in the tourney page.

Just bough awesome grips today, from Gamestop. They really make holding the Vita comfortable.

that's hot. I'd have to get that at some point. Alas, I went ahead and cancelled my pre-order this morning. While OT's can seemingly get an Eskimo excited about buying snow cones, it's the vibe I get outside of this OT and offline from friends that makes me worry a bit. With Gravity Rush--the only demo that I enjoyed--being delayed until May and the iPad 3 imminent, I think I'll wait and see what happens in the mobile gaming space between now and E3. If the Vita is coming along nicely, I'll look forward to jumping back in...with the grips above!

Cheers and good luck to all the early adopters.

Has anyone who traded in Little Deviants from the FEB had any problems doing so? I was curious because Best Buy is giving $16 for it plus an extra 40% if you buy UFC 3 which I want to do. I just noticed that it is marked "not for resale" and has all 0's for the UPC code. I'm only asking because I know some people here have traded in Little Deviants, but I wasn't sure if they were from the FEB or a purchased retail copy that they were trying to dump.

SinCe no one joined the last one. This will be the last if no one comes

HOT SHOTS GOLF CAT LOBBY 1

DAY11 TOURNEY 1 - 18 HOLES

Starts in 26 minutes so plenty of time to get ready.

Just found out I'm getting a £1,500 tax rebate next month (been on emergency tax for a whole year, what the fuck).

gonna be awesome being able to stock up on a good few new vita games

And just like that I cave in dramatic fashion. Come one Tuesday!!!
Edit: To think just a week ago I was telling myself I will probably wait till May or June to buy one. Haha, tech lust + gaming love is a bitch.

You must sacrifice someone to add me. :)

I'll create a new account for my Vita so that I have PS3 game contacts on my PS3 and Vita Game contacts on my Vita, but I'll gladly reserve you a space on my friends list ;)

If a mod could create a 'NeoGAF Vita Launch | What did you buy?' thread with the following post I would appreciate it:

Anyone found a way to get Valkyria Chronicles 2 up and running on a Vita? I don't own it yet. If I download it on my PS3 and then try to transfer it to my Vita, will that work?
