Quick question: The GPS module is also present in the wifi version? I've read some contradicting things earlier, amazon also states GPS for the wifi version?!
I'm talking about real GPS not some coarse location via wifi networks

Normally I would by the 3G version but I can use my phone as a hotspot so there's no need for that.

No. WIFI model doesn't have GPS

The problem is, I play obscure shit that I can't talk about with any of my friends without giving them a lesson.

"Hey bro, you hear about Child of Eden?"

"...what?"

So, the cycle goes something like

1. Damnit, I am spending too much time on GAF. Need to play some games.
2. I play some games.
3. I want to talk some games.
4. Welp, back to GAF. (See 1.)

On the bright side, I am an encyclopedia of gaming knowledge now. My friends think I know everything.

I foresee me buying it day one if it comes to Vita! (Please bring Mayonaka Arena to Vita. (Skullgirls would be nice, too.))

I spend so much time on the forums that I am genuinely surprised when I run into a game I haven't seen/read about before. How can this be!?!

I would like to get it at launch for PS3. Can't really justify getting a Vita for games I can play on my PS3. Also, I'm still catching up on my PSP library. However, if I suddenly had time/money to travel, it certainly would be nice to have.

I'm running into the real possibility that I won't be able to take full advantage of the Vita dals that are going on this week. I had intended to use the Target B2G1 deal to snag three games, then head over to Toys 'R Us and get a case and memory card and get the $20 gift card. But since I'm leaving on a trip on Wednesday morning, and won't have access to Targets, Best Buys, or TRU's where I'm going, I have to snag my items on Tuesday ahead of time. Target told me the B2G1 deal wasn't available until Wednesday, and TRU had no memory cards and only one shitty case, and weren't sure if they'd get anything in before Wednesday.

Back-up plan is to get Uncharted at TRU and get the $20 card that way and then just get a case, memory card, and perhaps a second game when I pick-up my Vita at the midnight launch. *fingers crossed*

Oh, and for those looking for 32GB memory cards, my Best Buy had a bunch of them in stock when I was there today. They had every size card, although the clearly the 4 and 8 GB versions were the ones that were selling the best.

How will i be effected if i used 3G solely for browsing.

Not bad at all in my opinion. I thought 250mb wouldn't be a lot but honestly, it seems like I will have to purposely try to browse hard in parking lots or on the go to make use of it. It's really good and it's always connected except in some odd patches (only found 2 but otherwise solid connection at all times). I also try to browse mobile websites to save bandwidth too but the wife just used it while we were driving around today and she used facebook, tumbler, and email sites which loaded in full so that includes that and other 3G tracking like me messaging my PSN friends which is totally awesome. I think that's what I like the most is talking to other Vita or PS3 friends from anywhere.

I'm curious, do you think there will be a way to filter players that use touch controls in Marvel vs. Capcom 3? I just want to be able to play against people that use traditional controls only.

Near kind of confuses me. Says 27 people playing nearby. I mean, I guess it's possible, but seems a little unlikely. What I want to know is, if there's 27 people nearby, why do I only see one person's avatar and default (smily face) avatars in the radar map thing? Doesn't seem like 27 to me. Also, what is the range they're using? I wish it would tell us.

Ask your friend a favor. problem solved.

That option is available when searching for or creating matches.

I don't get it! It says 97 people near by, but shows only 4 within 10 miles? What's near by? 100 miles?

If you just see a smiley face I believe it means they've chosen to hide their online name.

I used 100 mbs of data browsing gaf, mostly the wallpaper thread. Whoops!

Light browsing/near/in game leaderboards used like 20 mb in 3 days.

Moral of the story, stay away from gaf on your $15 3G ;)

I traded in some stuff and now have about $150 in credit at best buy. I saw a FEB in a little cage and almost impulsed purchased it...until the sales guy told me it was a pre-order and they're waiting for the guy to pick it up. Oh wells...I guess I'll have to wait until Wednesday like everyone else to pick one up.

Syphon Filter Logans Shadow is amazing on vita. I've been thinking about double dippin this game for vita because I love the psp ver. Decided I want to buy it a few days ago only to found out that sony remove the game from psn, I was pretty damn pissed about it because it's still there on last week

Then yesterday while browsing psn store I found a double game bundle of Logans Shadow and Killzone liberation for $15, it's 5 dollars more expensive that the actual logan shadow price, but I decided to just go for it. It works, looks and plays great, mapping face button to analog felt better that I thouht even for fine aiming,.

I dont know why sony bother to remove it in the first place if I can still buy it throug bundles.

Just for info, syphon filte dark mirror and resistance retribution is also gone from psn store. Dark mirror can be bougt in a bundle together with a socom game. Resistance is nowhere to be seen.

Poor Bend studio.

so, what are the other 93 playing? - I don't get Near at all. I thought it would be all cool, but now I find it meh.

Maximum you can have in a radius is 10 users , depending how close the first 10 are, the marking will show the radius. But it's for a particular game.

There is a list of each game and all the users playing it, the total will be 97. It's limit is 10km I believe or 15.

Btw , in that list if you tap the game , the radar thingy will show up with user stuff

Can I use remote play at work? Like connect to the wifi, and lpay my ps3? Is that possible? I have no idea how this remote play stuff works with Vita

Ive connected to my ps3 remote play on the same wifi while the ps3 was initially turned off with no problem But I've not tried it in different wifi networks.

The remote play works nearly the same as the PSP from what I remember of the PSP remote play.

OMG I just got the blinking blue light of (near)death while trying to access Near.

Had to hold down the powerbutton for 10 seconds. When it restarted I got the following boot menu:

1. RESTART SYSTEM

2. REBUILD DATABASE

3. FORMAT MEMORY CARD

4. RESTORE VITA SYSTEM

5. UPDATE SYSTEM SOFTWARE

Anybody got this, yet?

Whoa, I thought I was the only one who used RSS on PSP.

Anyone ever use SenseMe? That thing was so cumbersome to use, but I did like the look of it.

SenseMe is now part of Music Unlimited. You should be able to see the different mood in that app on PS3.

So I'm wanting to pick up a Disgaea game, which one should I go for on PSN? or should I just wait for the new one for Vita coming soon?
Get the first or wait, I believe. The 2nd is still well liked enough, I'm enjoying it now that I finally gave it a chance, but I believe 3 has it beat both for gameplay and story.

Also: first is cheaper on GameStop's site, digital code is $10 there while it's $15 on the PSN. Dunno if Disgaea 2 also has a $5 discount, but if not that makes the first one a better choice.

Yes. I thought it was a normal screen you get when you restart so I just ignored it and hit 1.

Does the US Vita still needs to have a default account first to update to the latest firmware THEN switch to my account?

What are some other initial nuances?

I did , no issue. Just got stuck. Hence did what you did.

The last day or two of waiting is kinda getting to me. I'm too busy to really play it right now anyway, but having the games here without the system is so taunting.

I am missing the RSS feed from the PSP. I hope the Vita gets this app as well as a Location Free option.
The PSP was the device that got me into podcasts. I hope to see rss added into the vita asap.

Dumb queston, I'm sure, but does Media Go recognize the Vita, or vice versa?

I think I'll cave in on the amazon bundle but I don't know which game to bundle. Normally I would take Uncharted but it isn't on the list, Fifa is cool just for the HD experience but my Fifa on PS3 is collecting dust, the only decent game is Rayman Origins, it's also the cheapest and I've only heard good stuff about it

How is the download list on the PSN Store on the Vita? Is it as bad as the PS3? I have some PSP games I want to transfer over and I was thinking it would probably be easier to just re-download them from the store on the Vita rather than going the PS3. Is it even possible to re-download titles purchased on another device?
