The new one-off special fits in here, right?

It should since it's based off Gen 1. I'm looking forward to it!
A shame it's not going to be a new series, heh.

I had really good times in Gold and Blue. I love this series so much.
My most memorable moment is when my friend had a GS Ball and we were trying to figure out what to do with it in Crystal. We still to this day don't know how got it.

I wonder...
Is it possible to transfer a RBY Pokemon to GSC with a chance of one of them being a shiny?
You should do it. The games are basically the same each generation from a surface and single-player structure level. But after taking a 5+ year break going back felt so great and nostalgic. Highly recommend grabbing it at launch and playing along. This has me hyped for X/Y more than anything. I haven't even bought a Pokemon game since Red/Blue, but I feel myself wanting to pull the trigger on a 2DS and X just because of dat Red.
I remember a rumor that "Black" version would be coming out after Gold/Silver, and featured a playable Rocket Grunt, working his way up to become the big boss and seek world domination.
I kinda wish it were true.
IIRC, you go to that shrine in that forest near Azlea City and put the GS Ball in there. You fight Celebi
This is going completely by memory, so i might be completely wrong about this. I do believe this was a Japan only event too, or was also in the US?
Well you were sort of a villain in the beginning of Pokemon Coloseeum
His smile in the intro creeped me outThe main character was too edge-y for my tastes. But his design was good.
Superb thread.
I had never seen this piece before. It reminds me why I loved these games back then. I haven't been able to really get into Pokemon since the RBY days, but seeing this piece of artwork, which is new to me but actually still old, and still getting excited again for the game because of it, tells me that there was something special about the original games that's missing from the new ones. I don't know exactly what it is, though.
It's not even worth watching season 1 and 2 if you're over the age of 10.Is the anime worth watching past season 1/2? Those are the only episodes I've seen.

Oh yes. I loved that so much.Original Hyper Beam sound effect is the best!
I remember the Gen I good ol' days. Then again, I have never played a Gen II+ game...

So happy they're bringing it back in X/Y. Hyper Beam just wasn't the same without it.
Wait, what? That's awesome!
Just finished beating Pokémon Yellow by taking down Blue, it was an epic battle to end all battle.
My brave Yellow team;
Char-Charizard
Pika-Pikachu
Sand-Sandslash
Saur-Venusaur
Zeni-Blastoise
Vee-Eevee
Now to play the waiting game for Pokémon X and Y.
Best Pokemon will always be the first 151.
This. I can't enjoy the newer ones, they just don't feel right.
(When chandeliers and ice cream cones become pokemon... time to stop)
Playing Pokémon Blue at lunch in high school, waking up in the morning to watch the show with my sister... The 90s were a fun time.
Oh, and I have every single game in the OP aside from Red and Silver (went with Blue and Gold. My sister had Red though).
