Pokémon Community Thread 4: "Your Portal to What's Hip and Happening in Sinnoh!"

Hey, if you want to believe that Coro Coro are revealing Z at all, knock yourself out. I'd love it to be true, but I just don't see it.

Expecting it is daft, though. It doesn't fit into how the series is generally promoted now- no, a worldwide Pokémon Direct was not an unexpected leap from Nintendo, who had established a precedent for revealing titles that way.

You do realise ORAS was revealed randomly in a trailer posted to Youtube right? No massive Direct or hype, just there. Not even a hint. It just happened.
I think no one knows shit except maybe Joe and he would never even reveal that he knows it so. Meh.

In this case, I'm currently as in the dark as everyone else

Why does Japan have advertisements for T-Mobile?

The catch is that Ash doesn't even know what happened, so they're gonna milk the mystery a bit more.

After playing Pokemon on and off my whole life, I have completed a Pokedex!

707 Pokemon caught, now I just need to work on completing my living dex, and getting more event Pokemon.
The only one I have now is Diancie, not really sure how I'm supposed to get more, Hoopa hasn't even been announced here in Aus. And don't want to get any clones or hacked ones either. But I can worry about that later.

Sorry for being a bit off topic. I'm asking if the newer pokemon games have an internal battery? Just wanted to know for personal reasons. D/P? HG/SS? X/Y? OR/AS?

With XY&Z the movie now being confirmed for a July 16, 2016 release date, and that being around the same date the Kyurem B2&W2 tie-in movie came out in 2012, can we expect version Z to release sometime in June then?

Sooo with the movie confirmation through the website can we safely assume the CoroCoro "big" news is not movie related? What else is there apart from a main game? *triestostaycalm*

Honestly I'm expecting all the movie news from the website to show up on corocoro. They might as well just save the Z announcement for February and release in the fall

You can see Volcanion on the cover of this month's CoroCoro...very tiny so Pokemon news is probably really small in content.

The fact Volcanion is being revealed this early, as opposed to early 2016, is interesting though...like this time around the last two years, we just got the teaser posters without Diancie or Hoopa being revealed. I wonder if Volcanion isn't the true star of the film, and a second Pokemon will end up serving as the title.

The cover is irrelevant in terms of how much content is in the magazine

I dunno, it seems every time Pokemon had a big blowout there was an equally large amount of Pokemon stuff on the cover.

At the very least I think the fact Volcanion is basically a "blurb" indicates it's the biggest news, right?

Na, we've had things relegated to the corners so many times. Keldeo, Meloetta, Therian Formes, Diancie, Hoopa, Emerald.

Maybe it's just the lighting, but it looks the the art for Volcanion has him more of a Burgundy/Crimson than the red-orange from his model. Also not very surprising he's having some kinda role in the movie.

yeah no big surprise Volcanion is going to be apart of the next movie

I'm surprised because I figured they'd wait and use it for the next movie. Wasn't expecting to have Volcanion announced already.

like I said a few weeks ago, wouldn't at all be surprised if Volcanion is the actual star of the next movie and Zygarde in the teaser was just to advertise the then-upcoming flare anime arc that'll conclude a few months before the movie.

and another month goes by without game news.

Nah, the fact he's revealed first this early seems to point that another Pokemon may be the true star.

Like how Genesect was revealed early on for his film, though it ended up being about Mega Mewtwo Y technically.

Hopefully in gen 7 they'll make sure to patch in the event legendaries and take out all the code for them if they're made beforehand. A legitimate surprise.

You know if we do get a return to Kanto next year like folks have been speculating, what's the chance of Volcanion actually being a "Kanto Pokemon"?

I could see them having him be the one who caused Cinnabar Volcano to erupt.

Really from its pokedex entries, Volcanion is more likely to just blow a mountain up with super high pressure steam rather than cause volcanic eruptions =p

It's kind of an odd name, since it's steam related rather than something like magma.

That happens very commonly. The Lugia vs Ho-Oh tease for Movie 13 is probably the most infamous example, since it raised people's hopes on Ho-Oh finally being used in a Pokémon movie, only to go with Celebi and Zoroark. :p

Be it a Gen 7 'mon or a form/Mega for a major Legendary, the "real" star opposite Volcanion is probably going to be a Pokémon we haven't seen. I do hope the TV anime handles the Zygarde climax properly though. It's a good opportunity to pull off a "grand" finalé in a way they haven't done in quite a while.

I wouldn't say that

Genesect (Final Gen V Pokemon): 7/11/12, First Gen VI Pokemon: 1/13/13
Arceus (Final Gen IV Pokemon): 2/14/09, First Gen V Pokemon: 2/10/10
Deoxys (Final Gen III pokemon): Difficult to find info on, but I presume 2003. Munchlax was revealed in May 2004.

So, if we don't get a Gen VII Pokemon by March, it'd be the longest time between the last Pokemon of a gen and the first Pokemon of a gen in over a decade. It's possible, but it'd surprise me. Even with D/P's delays they still built the hype train up early.

Erm, if Arceus is one year between reveal and the first Gen 5 game, how would 3 months between Volcanion and March be the longest? :p

Plus the fact Genesect to Gen 6 is 6 months. As was Deoxys to Munchlax

Think your maths has failed, my friend :p

Not when you realize they were talking about March 2017, as pointed out earlier in this conversation you're a part of =p

I wouldn't be shocked if we did have a Gen VII Pokémon revealed in February or March now, though. Volcanion needs a co-star.

Primal Complete Forme Zygarde

Note: the above is ridiculous and obviously not indicative of insider knowledge

Completely missed the 2017. Apologies. I have been without sleep.
