Pokémon Community Thread: Gotta Catch 'Em All!

Pokemon fanfiction by some pixiv artists.
So I started a Nuzlocke in pokemon white. Figured I'd share it with you guys (Mostly the important battles).
First battle with N went fairly well. My Tepig, Ace proving his worth as leader of my team with two swift tackles taking out the little cat.
The gym WOULD have went smoother if I didn't go and get my Elvis (Pansage) killed to a random trainer. So I was up toi fight Cress with Ace and Heart (Patrat).
Round 1 - Ace vs Lillipup. Spammed tackle a crap ton of times before the thing could boost and I was able to knock it down. Panpour was coming up and I looked to Heart who I had raised up to lv 12. I could honly hope she was strong enough to handle it as I tossed her in.
Round 2 - Heart vs Panpour.
Battle started with me using Leer two times and Cress getting in two water guns. Brought me down to red but my little buddy held on. I quickly tossed a potion as he went for work up. Two tackles/two water guns later and we are both healing up again.
It was down to the wire now and I poured on the tackle attacks. My last hit was a crit tackle that brought down the water beast and eared me my first badge. What a trooper!
Team -
Ace lv 13 Rash nature
Ace is leader of the team and my starter pokemon. Always rushing into attacks without thinking of it' own safety it's a great contender and just needs some guidance.
Heart lv 13 Modest nature
Heart was honestly someone I was just going to use as cut fodder but she turned out to be quite the battler earning me my first badge while being underleveled. Despite her physical weakness she presses on eager to support the team.
(Kinda giving the pokemon little personalities to make this more fun. I know weird but why not!)

That's not weird; I love giving my Pokémon personalities (Nuzlocke or otherwise).
In my Nuzlocke of White, my Beartic, Zangief was very kind and fiercly loyal to both me and Unova even if he wasn't the brightest, and my Braviary, Rawk Hawk, was always rushing headlong into battle and loved to fight, his confidence augmented by his diverse moveset.

Yeah, you kind of have to just play with what you're dealt on a Nuzlocke. In my run of Platinum, I got a Probopass with a +Attack, -Speed nature, which was a real bummer considering what moves I taught him, but I made it work and he helped me through two of the Elite Four.

There should be an anime/special run. Only use Pokemon Ash, Red, and other main characters use. Should be easy to pull. Only hard part is Yellow or Blue's team.

I did that in Emerald. Limited myself to his Hoenn Team, which was pretty good (Sceptile, Swellow, Torkoal, Corphish, and Glalie), although I allowed myself to fully evolve Corphish and kept spot 6 open for my HM Slave, which was mainly Linoone who helped with Pick Up, and later Rayquaza after obtaining him. Was rather fun.
Doing that in Diamond and Pearl wouldn't be too hard either, since you'd have Pikachu (Light Ball + Volt Tackle), Torterra, Infernape, Staraptor, Buizel, and Gliscor/Gible.
Try his Jotho team after most of his kanto team took off. Kinda bad if you stick to his first stage stuff. Bayleaf, Pikachu, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Noctowl and Heracross.

He got Phanpy near the end too, although it evolved years later during the Battle Frontier saga.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Gible pop up in Best Wishes 2 and evolve.
There's also a Corphish on the poster for Best Wishes 2, so I'm wondering if Ash will evolve it now that he's "allowed" to have Dark Types.
I did an Ash team in Yellow once, although I suppose I cheated since I evolved Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

I had a Mankey/Primeape before he got phased out for Haunter as well. Captured Muk, Krabby, Tauros, and Snorlax to keep the Ash theme going.

If you wanna get technical he never caught Haunter either.
Haunter was his best Pokemon though. Not only is it undefeated, but Team Rocket never even bothered Ash when Haunter was around.
Haunter needs a comeback.

I knew about the cast change but this is the first time it's hurt. Ah well, the Sinnoh League is still proving to be a real nostalgia blast. Heracross is a boss. And Cyndaquil evolved! Awesome.

If Brock and Prof. Oak never show up again, then I'd agree with you about the current voice cast being passable. I feel like the 4kids cast was noticeably superior though.

Ah, this is my first time watching DP in a long time (think I saw a couple episodes of the first DP series) so it's my first time seeing anime Barry. The talk of fines was something I totally forgot his game version did. :lol
Pokemon League continues to be vastly superior to the rest of the series, as usual. Shame they still insist on Team Rocket.

Anyone who likes the PUSA voices has to still be a teenager or something. There's no other rational explanation.
Their One Piece choices were terrible outside of Zoro though.
I haven't really watched One Piece much, but I like the voices in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, TMNT, Kirby and Ultimate Muscle.

Yeah, Team Rocket is the worse part of the new dub...mainly the lines. Meowth and Jessie have alright voices, but man, they really took off with the rhyming and alliteration. It calms down in Best Wishes...but that's because now they suck and they're boring. :{

Not sure if you guys have seen this, but I found this a while back. Eric Stuart (Voice actor of James and Seto Kaiba in the 4Kids dub) who's voice clip played backwards said "Leo Burnett and 4Kids are the Devil! Leo Burnett!" got asked about it.

Honestly the dub would be so much better if they just stopped dicking with the soundtrack.
