Yeah I'm at level 14 where I'm getting a mix of Great Balls and Poké Balls. Just did my first puny raid capturing a Magikarp. It says I have 381/350 in items. I'm not much of a battler. I like to evolve and capture more.

Then I'd recommend keeping Potions to around 10/20 as you'll rarely need them (I was the same at the start).
If you're down with spending money, focus it on Bag Storage over Pokémon Box storage as you'll need more space for special items (raid passes, rare candies, evolve items) going forwards. If you're not down with that, get more Pokémon into gyms and build up your coins that way.
Try and use normal balls over Great ones, store those up for a rainy day - Razz Berries with Pokéballs do the trick on most monsters.

No Plus Walker but spent maybe £30 in-app, max.
Pokédex: Caught 185 Seen 210
No Articuno or Lugia yet!
Does the Plus support great/ultra balls yet? Or is it still just poke balls?

Probably going to save tomorrow's free raid pass for Moltres on Monday.
Really need to find something to spend my damn Rare Candies on. At 275 currently held, taking up a lot of valuable space... (I already used some to power up another Machamp to lv 30).
Already have enough Dratini candies (lol), Rhyhorn, Geodude & good bit of Larvitar candies. All 3 of my Machamps are leveled up to at least lv 30. I do need another Golem, but waiting for another better Geodude. Think it's worth spending some candies on 1 of the current Legendaries or some other Pokemon?
Zapdos for sure will be invested in.

Caught 1/3 Arty and 1/2 Lugia today. Bad IVs all around, but the ppl u do it with really reinforce how the world still consists of some cool and kind ppl (offering to wait for u if ur app crashed or to drive u to the next place)

Since EVs and IVs are concepts in Pokémon that I'll never understand, I'll just ignore those and continue collecting.
But for someone who plays Pokémon GO alone, it must be incredibly difficult to capture a legendary.
I'm gonna be sad that I'm gonna miss out on having my own Lugia and Articuno but I really want to be strong enough to capture a Ho-Oh when the time comes.

Went hunting with my wife today, she went 0/3 on 2 articunos and 1 Lugia, I went 3/3 with Lugia being 12/14/13, one articuno being not elite and the other being 13/15/15 (which is unreal luck and great for me as it is one of my favorites of all time)

Just see if your city has a Discord and meet up with people. It's super easy and everyone is typically super friendly.

If my pokemon looses enough motivation will.it just come back on its own or does it have to be knocked out?

Caught Lugia on my second attempt, but I'm slightly disappointed with it. 1969 CP with 10 in every stat (66.7%) is pretty meh. I'm not one to typically complain about stats, because the CP loss is typically very negligible. This Lugia only loses 151 CP at level 40.
Dragon Tail + Sky Attack is alright, but I will just try catching a stronger one with Future Sight. Don't feel like burning TMs while this Pokemon is still available for a few weeks.
I still have just one Articuno, but I'm alright with that. I used a Charge TM, and I changed its Icy Wind changed to Blizzard. Now it's truly awesome.

Only sun stone though right? The others weren't used for evolutions in future generations as far as I know.
If they release it by next year, you get another 52 sure chances at an evolution item.

But Lugia is way too slow to help solo a machamp. Stop using your precious resources on Lugia guys! 😃

I love my Lugia and I will keep wasting candy and stardust on it :/
There won't be another Sun Stone evolution until Gen 5, and there are only 2 in Gen 5 and 1 in Gen 6.
It's the last day to get one today. It would make sense that they'll keep rotating them.
But who knows, they introduced legendaries with a special raid pass and a 48 hour hatch timer which they may have scrapped entirely or not implemented yet.
The current system doing away with the hatch timer has been really nice.
Legendary raids are so much fun. I saw an Articuno raid on my drive be home from work and the next thing I knew I was in a raid caravan.

Just for a brief second a Lugia raid showed up as a silver egg for me. That means they put eggs for legendary raids in the game and I really hope countdowns will be put in soon again.

I have another question (sorry!): I've been trying to evolve my Pidgeotto into a Pidgeot but I just recently captured a Pidgey that has 200 CP. My Pidgeotto has 340 CP and that white line above the CP is close to maxing out. Also the weight is XL.
Should I continue with evolving my Pidgeotto or should I try with again with a new Pidgey?

I know it's supposed to be a raid group but my Pokémon are pretty low with CP.
If you want to fill up your Pokédex, go ahead. There are more than enough Pidgey out there.
If you want a nice and strong one, wait until you're level 15-20.

Okay! I'm level 14 right now so maybe I'll see what I'll do. I want to get some Pokémon with a lot of CP on order to better contribute in raid battles.

As for Pidgey, don't think about it as much. You will probably evolve hindreds of them. Just go for the one with the highest CP for now.
As for Raids, don't worry, just go to raids and if there are enough people they will not care how weak your Pokémon are, they'll let you fight with them.
Yeah, the last week has kind of confused me.
Are the raid eggs gone for good, or are they coming back at some point?

I wonder if once the initial three week period of the legendaries, we might see eggs back for how they'll appear later? Who knows, this is all guesswork.
But I'm looking forward to week 2, legendary raids have been a revelation for the game. I guess the excitement is limited to however many legendaries there are, but still. Spaced out, with some other new mechanics, this is really coming into its own more.
D'oh I thought tomorrow was the 1st, I'm all ready for Moltres!
Feel free to ignore Pidgey for that. Work your way up in raids. Help people in level 3 and 4 raids, use those to contribute in better raids.
