Pokémon Go |OT 3| "No Officer, I'm a Passenger"

If they released them Saturday mornings, there'd be more of a rush imo. Larger groups and lot more randomers out and about.

Weekdays it just seems smaller groups and one or two random encounters.

3 Articuno in the park, post to Facebook. People start showing up. Have 11

5 minutes later
Guy posts: "Be there within the hour"

Seriously. 🙄

Went 2 for 3.

I have pretty good rate so far it seems.

8/13 Articuno. 6/10 Lugia.

I also take my time. I only throw as the last attack animation ends. So most 90% I hit it with golden razz berry + curve ball and Great catch.

Did two Moltres raids. First time it got away, but I caught it the second time.

For the Articuno I went 1/9, and Lugia I went 2/5. One of those should be more fail actually, because I had one raid we couldn't complete (didn't beat it in time, and we had started the raid with only 3 minutes left, so no retries). Forget which, but I think it might have been Articuno.

Also, hatched another 2km egg a minute ago.
still not Cleffa T_T

I didn't mean that in an asshole way. But I put a mon in a gym the other day. Was in for a few hours then got kicked out and didn't receive any coins.

hah sorry that wasn't directed at you and thanks for the quick answer!

Really mad at Niantic now -___-

another fucking way for them to make us all earn less coins and them more money.

2/3 for the first Moltres spawnings in town today.

It felt way easier than Articuno. I think the typing, coupled with having higher bonuses from living in a area with lots of fire types, and overall better expectations towards how legendaries go.

One is 90%+ IVs so I'm happy. Might do one or two more Sunday, we'll see.

Also 8-10 can easily do it. Split into teams based on team affiliation to get more damage and contribution balls.

did they change how we earn coins again?

haven't earned coins in the last couple days despite having my mons in for hours on in

"Again"? They only changed it once, to this current system a month or two ago. The only other change was to the amount of time required per coin earned (when they changed it they had it at 1 coin per hour, now it's 1 coin per 10 minutes), but the way coins are earned only changed the once.

another fucking way for them to make us all earn less coins and them more money.

While the maximum amount of coins per day has been reduced with the new system (50 now, was 100 under the original system), it's actually much easier to hit the daily cap than before, if you can manage to find the right gyms. You just have to find a couple gyms that turn over 1-2 times per day and they'll pretty reliably get you your 50 coins.

... which has actually done a lot of harm to the gym system, since most people are only participating in a couple gyms since controlling large amounts is pointless, and low traffic gyms are completely dead since people want their Pokémon returned relatively quickly.

Anyone have any advanced tips? Bc I don't think I can deal with them running much longer. I don't have tons of time to do these things.

Set circle to nice / great, lift off Pokeball. Wait for an attack warm up and throw a curveball right as attack ends, should get you a great curveball throw. Under Gold Razz Berry and all that your odds are now 20% ish.

They can't run, take your time.

I take my time. I'm always the last one done. I'm just butthurt. But thanks, I'll try that strategy.

the gyms in my area have increased the amount they change per week by like 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000%

I can keep adding zeroes if I want because it's an infinite amount as my gyms didn't change hands period for like 6 months leading up to the gym change.

so my weekly coins went from maybe 10 when i was motivated enough to beg a friend to take down a gym one peg and then build it back which I only was motivated to do like twice. to more like 100-150 per week on average which is way better.

I guess it's an area-by-area thing. Activity plummeted around here. I had two different Pokémon get stuck for over 3 weeks each, for instance.

Though it seems like since the Legendaries came about things have began ticking upwards again.

I know the feels man. These legendaries are a major pain to catch. And if you don't spend extra money you get one shot a day. Which as a result I'm sure niantic is probably making more money of these raid passes than any previous micro transaction.

And on top of that it's pretty time consuming to drive to these places. Only redeeming factor for me tonight is finally the TMs starting coming in.

Well, I mean, you can still earn coins to buy raid passes, but yeah, hitting the cap daily only gets you a pass every other day.

And yeah, there's definitely been a huge surge in revenue since the Legendary raids started. It's got bumped back up to number one on the top grossing charts on the App Store and is currently sitting at 4, quite a bit higher than it had been for a while.

If it's a huge issue you could always get a friend to join another team, or make an alt account yourself and take down the gym and then rebuild it your color. After they have been sitting there for a day it's easy even for a level 16-20 account to take them down.

Everyone I know nearby who would play already is, and is the same team as me. My girlfriend and I have considered creating secondary accounts, but honestly It's kind of a shitty/obnoxious work-around.

Simply having your pokemon loose all motivation after a time and return when it reaches zero would solve the problem. Hope they come up with a fix soon.

But this is mostly a rural problem. And we know how niantic feels about rural players

Made a second account on a different team and use it to kick yourself out when your CP is really low.

They just need to add an incentive to attack gyms *cough* stardust *cough*.

Right now the only incentive is that the more gyms you're in, the more likely it is that someone kicks one of your Pokemon out.

Caught a Moltres on my first attempt today. Feels good. As I have failed to complete or failed to catch on all my other raids.

According to goiv, 1830cp, lvl20 and 87% IV

Played Moltres with wife this morning. The group was already quite big, everyone wants it.
I caught 2/3 and wife 1/3. We only had 9 balls all the time as the gyms were not of our color.
I have to say it looks like the easiest to defeat among birds, 6 vaporeons did an outstanding job.

Really wanted a good Articuno, never got one better than 84%. Was so-so on Moltres, caught the first one I battled and it turned out to be 98% with the best moveset.

Did two other raids after that and both Lugia and Moltres run away. But it's alright. Everything is good today.

Caught Moltres on first try, feels good to do it on the first day, can take it easy up until Zapdos (while casually helping the others)
