They do that to some extent, water pokemon are more common near water and different pokemon are out at night then day, but to completely hard lock water pokemon to being near water would be horrible for people in the middle of countries or far from water.
Where do you live and can I come overThis game needs to stop giving me jolteons.
The GPS on my lg g5 is incredibly awful. Anyone know of any fixes? Feel like I've tried most suggestions I could find.
Oh, this has probably been asked a million times, but does my phone need to be turned on and on the app for steps to count for eggs?
If someone else catches a wild Pokémon at a certain spot, won't it be there for others to catch?
When walking with my sister and gf the same pokemon would pop up for us in the same spot. I'm guessing the pokemon show up in the same place for everyone.Lmao, I was under the assumption that the pokemon are completely random for everyone? Would be pretty cool if it all shared one universe

Hmm, that sounds good. But perhaps the game would be more competitive and realistic if only one person can catch it. You know, like if it was a real Pikachu standing there only one person would be able to catch it before the others.
Fuck that 1 HP glitch. I could have been the owner of two gyms today if it weren't for that glitch.
I beat that Snorlax so bad that it stopped fight even though it was stuck with 1 hp.
Yes for now (until the bracelet becomes available)
Where do you live and can I come over
That would devolve into violence quickly lol

Anyone have success with bike rides? Just went on one, and didn't get any notifications and I made zero progress on my egg. Maybe I was going too fast?
It rounds the figure. If you tap the egg it displays the distance walked to two decimal places. So you just need to walk a little more.My egg says 5/5km. Do you just keep walking until it hatches?
Best I've caught in the wild was a 400cp Kingler, but next best is probably a 200cp Eevee or something. I see 200~cp Pokémon regularly and am around level 10. My highest cp Pokémon are those who can be built on common encounters (Pidgeot, Beedrill, Jolteon). I don't know how people are building some of the more uncommon Pokémon so quickly, or if they're just getting lucky with chance encounters. How do people level up themselves and their Pokemon so fast? All the gyms near me have 800CP+ Mons guarding them with their trainers in the mid-late teens for levels. And this is in Canada, where the game hasn't even been released officially for download yet.
Rarest thing I've caught in my neighborhood after playing for 2 days is an 240CP Electebuzz that I can't level up cuz I have no more candies for it. And all the evolved Pidgeys and Zubats I evolve end up with only around 250CP after evolution. All the eggs I've gotten are 2km eggs that evolve Zubats and Weedles upon hatching.
I expected the game may be a slow burn, but it's disheartening when everyone else nearby seems to have better mons and stats. The struggle is real.
You can buy an external GPS that hooks up via bluetooth, but they start around 100 dollars:

Nothing here. I wasn't going particularly fast either. Haven't caught a single thing outside of the 2 incenses you start with.
Is it worth fully levelling a Pokemon before evolution?
It is shared, unless someone has an incense.
Yes. It will match where it would be if you had fed it later and for much less resource. Is it worth fully levelling a Pokemon before evolution?
I think it might be? I could've leveled Pigeotto more before evolving it, but once I evolved it I couldn't level it up anymore until I raised my trainer level. Leveling before evolving might be able to bypass that limit?
Things I hope they'll add:
- A friend list.
- Notifications.
- GPS tracking in the background.
- Actual battles.
Haven't been at a gym, so I don't know if battling occurs there.
