Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

They do that to some extent, water pokemon are more common near water and different pokemon are out at night then day, but to completely hard lock water pokemon to being near water would be horrible for people in the middle of countries or far from water.

There can be ways around that though.

If the GPS can notice rain, water pokemon can come out during rain.

It wouldnt be all water pokemon either, but big ones like gyrados, starmie, tentacruel, etc

Eventually, it would be really cool if cities had sister cities that they could trade with. So some city in Saudi Arabia could trade with some city in Florida or something

Already met three people outside of a restaurant/poke spot who were all playing. This is pretty great. My inability to actually find any Pokemon not withstanding.

Lmao, I was under the assumption that the pokemon are completely random for everyone? Would be pretty cool if it all shared one universe
When walking with my sister and gf the same pokemon would pop up for us in the same spot. I'm guessing the pokemon show up in the same place for everyone.

So what does it mean if the Pidgeot I put at a gym (it was the highest level Pokemon there) gets sent back to me, but it still had 1hp left? I was expecting that it'd be fainted when if it got booted by an enemy?

So does a Pokemon just show up wherever you have the phone pointed? So far, it seems like it doesn't really matter exactly where it shows up on the map in relation to me (if I'm near it)...if I have the phone pointed the opposite direction, the Pokemon seems to be where the phone is pointed.

Fuck that 1 HP glitch. I could have been the owner of two gyms today if it weren't for that glitch.

I beat that Snorlax so bad that it stopped fight even though it was stuck with 1 hp.

Hmm, that sounds good. But perhaps the game would be more competitive and realistic if only one person can catch it. You know, like if it was a real Pikachu standing there only one person would be able to catch it before the others.

That would devolve into violence quickly lol

Anyone have success with bike rides? Just went on one, and didn't get any notifications and I made zero progress on my egg. Maybe I was going too fast?

Had friends over and they went for a walk. I see a gym I control nearby comes under attack but I keep control. Then they come back saying they beat my gym but got the 1HP glitch, lol.

How do people level up themselves and their Pokemon so fast? All the gyms near me have 800CP+ Mons guarding them with their trainers in the mid-late teens for levels. And this is in Canada, where the game hasn't even been released officially for download yet.

Rarest thing I've caught in my neighborhood after playing for 2 days is an 240CP Electebuzz that I can't level up cuz I have no more candies for it. And all the evolved Pidgeys and Zubats I evolve end up with only around 250CP after evolution. All the eggs I've gotten are 2km eggs that evolve Zubats and Weedles upon hatching.

I expected the game may be a slow burn, but it's disheartening when everyone else nearby seems to have better mons and stats. The struggle is real.

Nothing here. I wasn't going particularly fast either. Haven't caught a single thing outside of the 2 incenses you start with.

We live next to a park that the kids haven't wanted to go to since we moved here. Now they want to go there constantly...there's five pokestops and a gym in it.

Best I've caught in the wild was a 400cp Kingler, but next best is probably a 200cp Eevee or something. I see 200~cp Pokémon regularly and am around level 10. My highest cp Pokémon are those who can be built on common encounters (Pidgeot, Beedrill, Jolteon). I don't know how people are building some of the more uncommon Pokémon so quickly, or if they're just getting lucky with chance encounters.

Is it worth fully levelling a Pokemon before evolution?

I think it might be? I could've leveled Pigeotto more before evolving it, but once I evolved it I couldn't level it up anymore until I raised my trainer level. Leveling before evolving might be able to bypass that limit?

Drowzee, Magikarp, Seel and Shellder were new additions for today.
When capturing Seel the app froze, so I feared I would lose him, so I was so happy he showed up in the inventory.

Had so many items my bag is full, so I went to battle some gyms with stronger Pokémon so I would use items to heal mine again. Took several of mine before I beat some of them, but didn't manage to take over the gym.

Left my Pidgeot at a nearby Yellow gym. I didn't take over the gym leader, will I still get stuff?

Things I hope they'll add:

- A friend list.
- Notifications.
- GPS tracking in the background.
- Actual battles.

Haven't been at a gym, so I don't know if battling occurs there.

OK, with 30mins of incence I got:
Weedle
Pidgeot (escaped)
Jigglypuff
Rattata
Weedle
Weedle
Pidgey

There is no way of escaping my weedley fate...

Evolving doubles their level, but is cut off at a limit by your player level.
Sooooo it depends.

Meanwhile in the employee restroom...

I've seen Eevee, Fearow, Beedrill on my Nearby when I'm at home, but walking around the block a couple times usually just spawns me Zubats with the occasional Pidgey or Nidoran.

My neighboorhood is considered a cave I guess? Lmao.

I restocked on a few Pokeballs and got to train at a Gym so that I can assign my Snorlax there. All while being 106° outside.

Even better, someone recently trained at it to make the Prestige higher. Hopefully I'll earn enough Pokécoins before the Red Team decides to take over. They already have an immensely powerful Magmar at the other Gym of the neighborhood.

I don't wanna record random people but I'm sure you all have already seen the migration when shit ton of lures pop up.

Wow I'v never seen anything like this.
