Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

The park behind my house is littered with pokestops. Strange seeing these empty areas.

I'm not sure, it may have been the mic picking up the wind like when you blow into a 3DS?

No idea but it was super windy and all my throws were flying oddly, kind of funny

No idea if it's related, but I was trying to catch a higher CP level Pidgeot yesterday. Fed him a few berries and then my Pokeballs started going off to the left and right direction. It was like he was gusting them away. I got one ball to stick, but it was in a very specific, super tiny area. I didn't end up getting it.

This is what my map looks like unless I feel like driving 20-30 minutes in either direction.
They really should put out random Pokestops that doesn't have anything to do with Ingress. I doubt Pokestops require a ton of graphical resources. Make them mini Pokestops and place them randomly out on the map. Make the mini Pokestops only pop out half the items a normal Pokestop would. So instead of 4 Pokeballs you would get 2.

Hit level 5 and gym is held by level 15 with over 400CP pokemon >.<

RIP

Miles to the next one >.>

The two gyms near me are above 1000. Getting 400+ CP Pokemon really doesn't take long. Just catch everything you see, go for a good walk where there are Pokestops to grind and turn in duplicate pokemon for candy to evolve and power up.

Is it possible to force my android phone to keep the app open all the time ?

There's a free app you can download called Stay Alive! that will let you choose apps to force open. I chose all my games to never time out. The app stays open in the background most of the time but sometimes i have to exit out of my game and re-open it because it wasn't working. Still a super easy fix, though.

Honestly that's not much. I had a 400+ jynx by level 6. Maybe I got lucky with a random spawn tho?
I got a 130CP something :|

Well it would be all sweet and dandy had there actually been anything close to me but that one gym. Even that is long walk or driving distance (5min drive).
I got quite the few pokemons but no way to get balls without purchase.

Sadly as soon as i exit the city line its all dead.

:|

And work is just teasing me with all those just out of range areas :(
They should really add some more stops at random on the maps.

Really getting annoyed by the gym bug. I'm never going to earn pokecoins at this rate if I can't challenge a gym or even train at my own.

My Girlfriend and I went down to the park last night and it was unlike anything I've ever seen. There were probably at least a thousand people there playing this. There's like 10 Pokestops and a bunch of gyms along Tempe town Lake. All the pokestops were lured and people were just walking from one end of the walk to the other.

People of all backgrounds were cooperating and yelling out where the good pokemon were and people that obviously aren't used to exercising were getting it. Was a great time.

There were so many people I was actually surprised to not see any cops, not that any were needed.

This one got me pretty bad

There's no way to tell what Pokemon is where, right? Like, this doesn't make sense to me even as a joke. If a person knows a Pikachu is somewhere, they can catch it because they're looking at it on their screen already. One, two or three footprint symbols means nothing to me when little leaf shoots are popping up all over the place.

Actually, you can follow the steps to pinpoint most of them exactly.

The joke actually doesn't work because multiple people can see/catch the same 'mon on their respective phones.

I've had this experience with a high CP Pidgeot as well.

Didn't the last version of that meme have Rhydon?

You have 6 pokemon to whittle it down. You only need to defeat one pokemon to lower the prestige of the gym. You can also team up with other players of your team and fight it together. You can do it!

I've seen it with Growlithe too. Same text each time, down to the all caps. Just the pokémon replaced. It's how the internet works.

Game still won't let me log on.
Same here. There goes my plan to snag four gyms and then collect my reward so I can buy a new incubator

Yes...is that the issue? lol

I'm not sure. I ran into two trainers yesterday while I was on a bike ride. We were chatting and they asked if I was gym leader of anything. Told 'em I was blue team and I hadn't had any issues. They said they were both red and had encountered that bug several times. There are LOTS of blue gyms around me, but not as many red. Maybe it has something to do with the red team? I have no idea. I was just curious.

Yeah I'm guessing it's just because it was a higher CP and the longer the encounter went on, the harder it got maybe.

Game hasn't launched here in Mexico yet and I already saw three different guys playing GO! while walking for work this morning. Pokémon is very popular here so I'm sure game is going to be massive here once it launches officially.

Edit: And my facebook feed is filled with tons of desperate messages of people asking how to get Pokémon Go early. People who never thought they knew or cared about Pokémon...

the game was working for me but now when I open app its closes on the loading screen?

Is this because server is down or app is broke?

I've been hearing the exact opposite that if you make a skilled shot into a smaller circle that the chances of the catch is higher. lol.

EDIT:

Source: https://support.pokemongo.nianticla...s/221957648-Finding-and-Catching-wild-Pokémon

Everywhere ive read had indicated to throw when the circle was small... hmmm

...i've been doing it wrong all this time? D:

Oops, tempest3 is right, I got my info mixed up. I haven't noticed any real difference when catching them, probably for stronger pokemon it is more important.

This is my thought as well. Personally I haven't felt like the change in size has done anything significant.

I had the bug constantly up until yesterday and I'm on the blue team.

Just had this happen to me with a Charmander (164CP, orange circled). Only had 14 balls, so it got away.

At work I cant collect pokemons and such but there's tons around but just out of reach for me to click them and at home its literally NOTHING for miles cause im outside the city. Cant even see a Pokestop.

Sucks. Cant play them game unless i either leave work, spoof or travel to town, have a hard time to find parking and just walk around with a battery eating application.

Seems like chore to me. :|

Found like 6 pokemons around my house but once im out of balls theres no way for me to get it without commuting which is a big problem imo.

I think you need to treat it as a game you play every now and then when you are in a populated area and just open the app, mess around for 5, and then close it. It's not Destiny or The Division where you have to reach max level immediately, or farm all day. Take it from that perspective and just enjoy it when you are in populated areas. Take a walk during lunch.

Thanks man, do you have a link for that? Can't seem to find it.

It seems the bug is just random then. Maybe it only affects certain devices? Hell, I don't know. I've been lucky then I guess. I feel for you people who get affected by that 1 HP bug. I can't wait for the first patch.

Anyone running this game on an iphone 5? If so how does it perform? Any major issues? I'm in Canada so I'm waiting patiently.

Yup I'm gonna try and chew them down slow but sure.

Also did i misunderstand the whole circle thing?

I've went for smallest possible circle and had it fail a ton and last time i just flinged my balls at the pokemon at the giant circle, got the word "Nice" pop up and captured it.

Have I been playing Hardmode?

Yup I guess thats true. Soon out of balls anyway so nothing I can do at that point :)
;(((

Anyone notice the map is outdated? For instance I built my house 2.5 years ago and it's not on the map along with a lot of others in my neighborhood along with a few businesses I've noticed...

I think it depends, there was a walkway bridge made near me about a year ago and it's on the map correctly, so my area must have had a google maps update between then and now.

I'm running on an iPhone 5S and it works just fine. I'm nearly certain the iPhone 5 would work just as well. Perhaps someone else with a standard 5 will chime in.

So lot of gyms are taken over by some tough ass shit, and it's going to get worse with time as escalation happens. Whats to prevent the gyms being mostly locked down in the near future by high powered creatures? How are newer players supposed to compete?

They should still be able to be chipped down by a few people teaming up.

What's the rarest pokemon you guys think you own? Relative to your area of course. I've got a dratini, and from the folks I've run into no one else has one. I really want an Onix but I can't find a location in miami that might have one.

Anyone run into a ditto yet?

Everyone and their mothers have an eeveeloution though. Things are so strong in the early game.

I'm using an iPhone 5. No issues with the phone itself. No frame rate or sluggishness issues and it loads quickly. Just running into some of the same problems everyone else is having.
