Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

ARGH, The Pokemon Trainer Club servers keep crashing hard, can't log in.

Google works fine.

I NEED to hatch my 10k egg, c'mon, Niantic!

With ingress (they're previous game, that Go gets it Pokestop and Gym locations from) users were allowed to submit locations for a while. They had to rely on their playerbase to submit locations and provide photos for them all, because covering the entire world in this level of detail would have been impossible otherwise. I would love to see them open this up again for Pokemon Go players, but ask for wilderness locations and highlights. Things like ancient trees, memorial benches on footpaths, woodland glades, awesome rock formations. This is a Pokemon game so natural points of interest are going to be just as useful (if not more) for Pokemon as man-made points of interest.

Yeah, pretty sure it was a fake story for a lame punchline. The tracking system is garbage. If they updated it to allow the footprints to rotate 360 degrees, so they always pointed in the direction of a Pokemon, that would be awesome. And it would make a whole lot of sense. If I can see a Pokemon's footprints then I should also see which direction they're heading in, right?

I personally think it's better if you don't know the direction. It'd be way too easy if you just knew exactly where to go.

Just caught my second strongest Pokémon an hour ago

I think slapping a lure down at a Pokestop and sitting around for half an hour waiting for everything to come to you is too easy. Tracking is much more fun, but makes no sense to say you can see footprints but have no idea which way they lead. I wouldn't even mind if they were only accurate to 90 degrees (so only pointed one of four directions). Anything is better than seeing three footprints and walking in completely the wrong direction.

That moment when the cops are in your way when you try to catch a ratata

i had to go over to a bench and get it but i was so focused on my game that i allmost bumped into 4 cops with body armor and guns <.< lol

Hey now! This is Nørreport in Copenhagen! I'm not far from that place. We should meet up buddy! :)

I'm going out tonight to try and level up to lvl 5.

When I use an incense or lucky egg it starts at 29:10. I lose 50 seconds :(

Also my gps is inaccurate and my pokemon list is laggy compared to my brothers. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. Anything i can do?

I'm pretty sure if you select the pokemon in nearby and make it priority it will minorly blimp green outwards that you are heading in the correct direction....thats what I've done and it seems to have worked.....but who knows, I could just always be heading in the right direction. But I caught a Parasect last night doing this.

I wish the AR worked with iOS 10 but after using it on my friends phone the game forces you to hold the phone super awkwardly to catch a Pokémon, so I'll probably just keep it turned off.

Has anyone else had issues with hatching eggs? I just left my apartment with an egg 0.1km away from hatching and walked around the complex, (which is about a mile) only to not have the egg hatch until I was nearly back at my apartment.

I know that many pokemon can only evolve only once. Is there any reason to evolve/power up these pokemon? Other than just getting EXP?

Like Drowzee can evolve only once, but is he worthwhile evolving? Just an example.

I guess rattattas you would evolve just to get exp right? But you wouldn't power him up, since his max stats would always be lower than another pokemon that can evolve twice?

This is false and has been debunked numerous times. The blinking is just aesthetic flair.

Didn't catch much today riding round Sussex/Surrey and S.E London, but got a nice route for pokestops so stocked up on about 40 balls/9 eggs and potions.

Can you only get incubators from the shop?

The game screen has to be on and active on your screen. If the screen is off, you won't get any walking credit.

People, please don't be a creep and say hello to people at least to shop owners. (ex: wave at the person at least and show the game XD)

On this note, I had my first Pokémon Go-related confrontation yesterday:

I was walking through a parking lot across the street from where I live because there was supposedly a Nidoking nearby. While I was standing in the middle of the lot and getting my bearings, a security guard came up to me and told me (not asked me) to leave. Normally I would have, but he came at me with a lot of attitude. So I told him what I was doing and that it was public property (which it was) and that I wasn't doing anything wrong. Then he told me I had to leave just because he said so, so I laughed at him and told him I would leave when I was done.

So he drives away, and having not found the Nidoking, I started to leave. Then he confronts me again at the exit to the lot and tells me people like me are the reason we're seeing these murders and stuff. He says it with a lot of foul language and racial slurs, so I look him in the face and call him unprofessional, and that pisses him off. He starts on a profanity-laced tirade while I walk away, confident I didn't do anything wrong and that I handled myself the best I could.

The worst part is, I never found the Nidoking :-/

Evolving is great xp especially if you have a lucky egg. The higher your level the stronger pokemon you find so xp is one of the best things to grind for.

Man, this is why the system sucks so much. Everyone just guesses and there are so many different theories. Sometimes they seem to check out, sometimes they don't. I went looking for a three footprint Squirtle last night, going by the "three footprints equals three-pulsing-rings-around-your-trainer away". It never went down to two prints after walking multiple ring-widths in every direction, but on the final direction a Mr. Mime also showed up as three prints away, and he did fit the three-pulsing-ring rule, getting a footprint closer every ring distance I walked. So I was happy to catch something, but annoyed that the footprint system makes absolutely no sense.

I'm going to attack my first gym tonight, tips or tricks?

How many Pokemon can I use to attack it? Is there a cooldown if I fail until I can try again?

So unlike Ingress I'm finding out there's basically no casual way to play this.

All the gyms around me are my color. Can't put a Pokemon on any of them. Train? Waste my potions realizing that's rather worthless with my lower level guys. Why can't I replace the low level Poke I can beat with my stronger one?

The Gyms further away are a different color. Dudes with 1100+ CP. Can't beat any of them.

Yaaaaaaaaay. :/

Whereas in Ingress for the gym and stops I hit, I was able to: Recharge, Hack, Link, Field. Got rewards for each and helped my team. Way more rewarding and useful for my time.
