Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Also that reminds me, with this game out pretty unexpectedly for me and No Man's Sky going gold... next month will be sort of a surreal time in gaming. I will go out into the real world and explore the physical environment around me in order to catch animated monsters and use them to fight other ones, then come home and explore the universe in a space ship in virtual reality from my apartment.

Man I don't even have the game installed and found a KO'D Rattata that no one claimed at this property I'm at. ( A dead rat lol )

How is this app grossing so much if no one can get on? How much money would they be raking in if the servers weren't on fire?

I already threw $20 at these guys and haven't been able to play for 2 hours. I'm sure if server issues were non existent these guys would be banking. Intensely.

Jesus almost had a heat stroke going outside lol. Went around my block when it finally connected and I got a weedle. I'll try this again around 7pm lol. I'll be more active with this game when I go to the store or work lol

Is the 250 on the Pokemon screen the max space you start out with? If so I'm totally gonna try and have a living dex.

Yep you can keep 250 Pokemon so you'd be able to keep all 150 (1?) plus an extra hundred...plus if you buy one of the extra upgrades you can hold more too.

I assume there's likely 2 camps, casual paying players and what one would call "whales" that spend a ludicrous amount of money on the game. Considering some of the super high levels I've been seeing and the lack of Pokespots, either people are paying or they're getting pretty lucky. And really a few bucks here and there probably wont hurt many people so they'll likely make money from simply casual players who may not pay in any other mobile game.

Are the servers down or did they finally block people from countries it's not officially released in yet?

Servers still down as far as we can tell. It's fairly likely they're not going to block any players and it was all baseless fearmongering.

Why not just leave the game open? I'm confused about this. Leave the game on, put headphones on, disable in game music but leave sound effects on, start your song or podcast of choice, put phone in pocket, and go on about your day. Am I missing something?

it cooks my phone!!

So I finally caved and switched to a gmail account so I can play again, and I get greeted with a "Our servers are experiencing issues. Please try again later" image now. How are you guys all playing?! Arghh!

So when I try to log in with PTC it just boots me back to choosing between google and PTC. Is that the same problem others run into?

My game has been working intermittently; not completely down. Caught an Eevee about 5 hrs ago, Nidoran 2 hrs ago, another Eevee and various commons in the past hr. Granted, the game has crashed multiple times and I got the server error message multiple times throughout the day as well.

It seems like whenever I boot the game up, 2 'mons show up, and then nothing else throughout the duration of my play.

• How does the game decide when to generate pokemon? Is it every 15 minutes? Is it based on distance traveled?

Can you ditch pokemon you don't want? I've been catching loads of multiples to get the candy/xp and obviously don't want 10+ of each.

Decided to walk home and try to catch some pokemon instead of taking the bus.
The servers are down.

It will be a long walk...

I did, I tapped my phone, things happened. Then I went back inside and there's nothing to do. After the initial AR neatness wore off there's not much to it.
Did you walk around with groups of people, stumbling upon town landmarks and other groups?
Did you overtake a gym, only to have it stolen back and have to return the next day to claim it again?

The social aspects are where the fun is at. The game itself is pretty simple.

... If you're not willing to walk around and invest in the social game.

Server is back on east coast. Also, how do you use the lure ? The more people the more pokemon ?

Click on a pokespot, then tap the tiny rectangle above the picture/circle. It will bring up your lures, and tapping the lure twice will place it on the point for 30 minutes. It increases pokemon rates for every trainer in range.

Holy fuck we have a playground right in front of our apartment building and it's a freaking pokestop!

I can sit on the couch and get free stuff every 5 minutes.

Never moving house, ever

Thank you!!!
Also somehow a Wegman is a pokestop ????
And there is like three guy stand around their door and point the camera around lol.
Edit: just miss a freaking seadra !!!!!! Screw this game.

Yeah, the AR bits were the only pull, but I got over that already.

It's just busy work surrounding a poor core game. Catching without battling and then a poor version of gym battles.

This is not available in the Danish store, so I downloaded it from the American store. Gonna be interesting trying it out on my iPad Pro lol.

I live next door to a Pokestop, lol. Been abusing that when I can :P

Hit up so many Pokestops on my walk earlier that I filled my bags. I have like 250 Pokeballs so I'll probably just be hitting it for the eggs and EXP for a while.

This cycle is kind of funny when you look at it from afar. One person gets in, posts about it, everyone else immediately tries to log in, and the server crashes. Wait 30 minutes and repeat.

Found a Pokestop in the middle of the racetrack at the casino near my house. It's far enough out there that you would have to go out onto the track in order to get it.
