Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Don't worry about that grass, it's not worth going after in particular because it's not guaranteed. Use your nearby tracker and yeah, watch out for you know going into peoples' yards.

yup, I've seen people get good stuff out of them.

There's probably some merit to saving eggs until you're a higher character level... I wonder.

I'm confused how the tracker works. I assume you click on the pokemon and just start walking in any direction until the feet drop all the way down to zero?

Does Japan even care about this or is this just an American and European phase? Japan is still huge on main Pokemon so I can't see them caring much.

For two entire days my Pokémon Go doesn't show any pokemon, gym, or anything at the map! My friend, in the same region I am, has it installed and can play normally.

What could have happened?

May I have been banned, besides not receiving any note about it?

No idea anyone?

No. The Pokemon are in a specific location and you have to use the tracker to track them.

To my knowledge, you literally track the Pokémon to the nearby location. Once the tagged pokemon starts blinking, you're walking in the right direction.

Kinda disappointed about how Pokémon are not in locations that make sense to their nature.

Why am I getting tons of Staryus and Goldeens when I'm not remotely close to any water area? Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I live in Howell, NJ - the epitome of suburbia. I walked down the street to the Baptist Chirch (pokestop), spun it, then walked to the edge of the parking lot where a water tower (gym) stands. The gym has 2 Pokemon - a ~100 venonat and a ~400 vaporeon. I had never battled before but managed to beat venonat. I got vaporeon halfway down before my team bit the dust. It took a few minutes and then googling to realize how to heal my team. I thought with venonat down (does he stay down?) I might be able to take on vaporeon.

I challenge the gym again and now it's only a Venomoth. Weird..what happened? I then see a car with 2 dudes in front of the water tower in the short dead-end driveway. They reverse and drive off, and I realize they had beat the vaporeon and took over the gym, right in front of me! They were also team blue so I left my kadabra and went home. Looking now, 2 hours later, my kadabra is back with me and another Pokemon is at the gym. I can't believe this - I'm not in a major city or anything, yet the craze is in full effect.

This game is ridiculous. I love it.

I've seen quite some people talking about this and getting angry at the fact that a Japanese IP game isn't releasing in Japan at the beginning.

Anyway, Japan is huge on Pokemon still, but it's even bigger on smartphone games. Can't say exactly whether this will be a hit or not here, but it has the potential.
People are way more awkward in public though, so I don't know about the gatherings :P

I had a blast spending the last 5 hours tracking pokemon in the woods but now my battery is almost dead, it's getting dark, I'm lost and it's cold

What does it mean when a gym looks like it's under attack? It's under attack?

Yeah, if there's like rocks flying around, wind gusts, etc it usually means there's an attack at the gym, and you can potentially team up with someone to fight it.(or fight them when they take it over?)

I'm going to try this thread, any idea when the PKMN Go Plus will restock anywhere? I really want one!

I don't think it's gone up anywhere yet. I thought I saw something about it being a store exclusive but I dunno.

How do you get your Pokemon off certain gyms?

I think it's stuck there until it's defeated. I haven't tried training at a gym I own, but after beating or fighting your mon at the gym you might be able to replace it or take it back?

I think it'd be popular in Japan when it comes out. A lot of the Pokemon Events they have for the main game revolve around people actually going out to stores and stuff and kind of making a day of it...instead of over here where people pull into gamestop's parking lot to download them....

No idea anyone?
That sounds kind of weird. If you haven't try uninstalling and reinstalling maybe? If you're using an apk, uninstall that and get the regular Play Store version. Outside of that you might just be boned for the time being, in which you should contact Niantic who might be able to help out. But at this point contacting them might be difficult lol

What's this about someone finding a dead body playing pokemon!
Yep, seems like it. Not surprising considering how many feet are on the ground actually exploring.

Does anyone know if size and weight affects some of the Pokémon stats? I've notice the exact same Pokémon wither the same CP can have different size and weight (with XS and XL pointed out in the UI) and also different HP.

So I should probably upgrade XL ones even if they're starting from a much lower CP?

9-tails here I come.

How do you leave a Poke at a friendly gym?

BREAKING NEWS: A person called Violet found walking around the woods looking very confused, tired, and hungry. The person keeps muttering something about Pokemon and too many weedles.

On my way to work this morning, my only new catch was a Zubat (finally). To make up for that, two of my 5K eggs hatched into a Vulpix and Poliwag. A 2K egg I picked up on the way was another Caterpie. I also got enough Pidgey candies to get a Pidgeot! He has a two CP advantage over my Jolteon, at 398. Gonna go for a walk in about an hour to see what I can find. Pokédex completion: 36/151.

Just about, yeah! Anytime you see the number of prints change you know that you're heading in the right or wrong direction. Also I don't know how it works on a regular basis but there may be something to heading toward where you, I dunno, feel there's a chance they might be. When Magikarp show up for me even 3 stars away, the chances are really high that they're somewhere in the canal along my row of buildings.

Also it is definitely worth mentioning that there's some kind of timer and they can just get away. If you're tracking something you really really want, get moving!

Holy shit I just caught two Pokemon and got Pokeballs from a Pokestop going 60 mph down the highway with my gf driving. Who said there was a limiter at 25mph haha

Even in the busiest part of the next city over, I haven't found a single gym. I don't think this game was made with rural Ohio in mind.

It's good to know that my surrounding area is basically just Route 1 and 2. Only get Pidgeys, Spearows, Ratattas, and Weedles. Thanks, Nintendo.

Also, anytime I actually go to the city proper the servers go down, so annoying lol...

Ha-ha, right? I already wasted one trip downtown. I'm scared I'll waste another.
