Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

And its a 5km one too.
 
My morning walk went pretty well. I took back two gyms from Team Mystic and was going for a third, but it had a 600ish CP Dragonite and three underlings. Noped right on out of there.

Visited a local park with like 16 Pokéstops in it. I plopped down on a bench within range of 3 stops and reaped the rewards while using an Incense and a Lucky Egg. That got me to level 10! And in the same location I found a Meowth last night, a Fearow showed up. One Razz Berry and Pokéball later, it was mine! Mid-400s CP.

This evening will be my last walk before vacation. I'm fully expecting all my gyms to be gone by the time I return.
 
How the hell are you people getting so much stardust??? I'm almost constantly at zero and im really only.boosting two or three pokemon

best way is definitely pokestop and a lure....and catch every damn thing in sight! Also watch as other trainers come to catch some with you lol
 
I just installed this. UK here.

There's a load of Pokemon in the middle of the dual carriageway I walked past. Not sure if it's worth risking being hit by a car at 80mph to catch a charmander
 
I wonder how they're getting the data on where to place guns and poke centres? The ones nearest me are at two children's playgrounds and a community centre. Must be some map metadata about points of interest based on meeting areas?

They are all ingress portals. All done by the community years ago hence why some are a bit dodgy...
 
Ugh, caught my first Pokemon, then was asked what my nickname. Every time I enter one, it says that one is not available. Bug? Should I delete the app and redownload?

Lifted directly from Ingress. To a part it's public places openly available to Google/Niantic, to a (bigger) part it's artworks and POIs sent in by the users to place Ingress portals.

Bug? That's a neat nickname. It has no number and can grow on you like the Nickname Mouse would.

Went to ktown tonight in LA and so many people were running around catching Pokemon and having a good time. It was amazing!!!

Also, I took over the Los Angeles Clippers headquarters with a Pokemon that has clippers.

I haven't been able to log in over the last hour. Google account. Loading-icon keeps spinning.

edit: Just managed. Killed app and tried again.

Not a bug. For some stupid reason Pokemon nicknames have to be unique.

Im assuming you made a US or AUS itunes account. I did too and then deleted it, im going to wait for the UK release because of 3 things.

You wont be able to pay for ingame purchases without an american or AUS card.
To switch back to UK app resets progress
Theres a chance you could get banned, the reason it hasnt rolled out uk yet is server issues.

I'm pretty sure your account is tied to your gmail/trainer account and not to your phone or the region of game you downloaded, so no risk of resetting progress.
 
So I had a pokestop that was in a restaurant. Which doesn't seem abnormal but when I actually got in there the stop wasn't the restaurant itself but a fake tuna they had hung on the wall with some weird pun caption about tuna and talking.

Also is the "one of the worst" highway accidents story about someone attempting to catch a pickachu real? I'm trying to find anything about it on legitimate news sites but haven't. Some of the sites I've found it on also reported the fake story about a teen getting stabbed and having his iphone stolen so It's suspect to me. Not to mention all the sites that reported it have almost the exact same wording down to the strangely unsubstantiated "caused one of the worst highway accidents"

Like hell would I ever be seen using an iPhone. Hate the things. I used a burner Gmail account after installing the apk.

And I am staunchly against ingame purchases. Never made one, never will. I'm just trying the game out and will uninstall it later.

Walk back home from pizza place, catch pokemon and burn off the pizza.

Repeat until you collapse and sell your soul to the nearest pokemon gym.

that sucks. I can't stand numbers in my character name. I was at it for 53 minutes two days ago when I was lucky enough to get on with my a PTC account and I was about to give up when I tried the name combo of NeoHydra. It worked. Then I got kicked off that account so I went threw Google and got lucky again with NeoHydra so it only took me seconds.

It took me over a hour and a half to create my Steam account the other day because I refuse to put numbers or underscores in my name.

Be careful, there has been malware linked to the android way of obtaining the game.
