Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I think we might already be reaching plateau Pokemon.

Sure, more and more people are playing, but the line between super hardcore players and casual players is getting bigger and bigger each day.

Much like how WoW started to change, I think eventually the majority of players, who will be more casual, will start to feel like they can't do shit because the 24/7 players will be permanently running the gyms, etc.

My wife and all three of my daughters have been bitching about this game non-stop.. No, I'm not pulling over in the middke of traffic, no, I'm not driving to the park, no, I'm not renting a boat and no, you are not wondering around the neighborhood in the middle of the night to find more Pokemon.

Uugghh.

Oh and screw you Facebook for perpetuating this maddness in my household.

Oh and screw you faulty severs on the iOS and Android side..

Hah already there, my highest pokemon is 309, gyms are 1000+ so.... yeah. Its not like I'm not putting time into the game either.

Yeah, I was hoping to take the gym that was around 400 CP yesterday since I got a pidgeot that's 450 now. So I went past there this afternoon as I'm getting lunch and its shot up to 1100.

Like what the fuck?

Did they announce any release date for this in Europe?

Kinda curious to try, but I'm a little paranoid on downloading apps from outside the Store on my phone.

I have two churches down the street from me, literally 300 yards from my house, and both are gyms. I made the mistake of not taking the gyms last night when they were in the double digits.

Went there at noon, post church, and both are 1000+.

Fucking southern baptist mega churches.

Decided to head 'downtown' to see if there's more PokeStops. I'm not ready.

A friend of mine went to Busch Gardens yesterday and showed me a picture very similar to this. I might end up taking a trip to Orlando next weekend to check out Disney...

Maybe they should figure out a way to implement mini-quests for non-competitive players. The only way I can help with a gym is if someone else takes over and I help buff it up. Otherwise I can't compete with the 1500 CP Arcanines.

I really don't care that much about the gyms tbh. They are fun but I'm not bitter when I lose. I'm here to catch'em all.

Went for a run and must've hit the "walk limit" as my eggs got stuck at 9.87/10 km for the last quarter of my 5k.

Yeah, that's kind of annoying.

I need a fucking better pokedex iphone case than whats on amazon.

Gimme this mass produced pls, and a place for my credit cards

It's a shame Nintendo/Pokemon Company didn't forsee the massive popularity - if they were smart, they'd be flooding stores with Pokemon/Pokedex branded phone covers for all major phones.

They haven't even advertised the friggin launch of this thing yet.

Damn, Yellow has just about 0 presence in my neighborhood. But on the bright side I snagged a ~450CP Electabuzz today.

How are the Poke lures vs the incense?

I usually don't get much from incense except one pretty decent surprise per incense. I want to know if I'm wasting my time going to the park to use the lure for a half hour.

Shoutout to the hundreds of fellow players who were at Newport Pier last night, and thanks to whoever kept launching lures! Magmar at the pier made everyone go haywire.

Between 9:30 AM and 1PM, I've caught 12 pokemon. I was sitting at my house, and only got up to get the paper outside (and walked around most of an acre looking for a horsea labeled nearby).

While almost all of them were Pidgey/Ratata/Weedle (drowzee, paras, pigeotto, and the aforementioned horsea being the others), I think it's fair to say the game doesn't "screw" people in rural areas or those who don't have pokestops nearby-- I have a park a quarter mile away and a church 3/4s a mile the other direction marked as pokestops, but I never approached either, never used a lure/incense, etc.

I did, however, close the app and wait 30 minutes or so before reopening it, because it seemed to encourage pokemon to emerge. Could be something I just imagined was helping, but compared to work yesterday when I drove literally all over my state to different towns of drastic population differences, I caught just as many sitting in one spot-- just not nearly as many varieties. It's just as well, though, since I used these dupes to evolve and level up, and transfer for candy.

It's all anecdotal, of course, but I also had one of the best capture rates and the most pokestops/gyms in the smallest town I visited yesterday (well, aside from two state parks I passed)-- it just happened to have a ton of unique businesses, outdoor artwork, and historical stuff all within its snug, humble, rural-as-hell downtown area.

I'd guess people who are adamant that there's nothing nearby them just got unlucky with Ingress player's past activity. That, or they shut the game off when there's no immediate gratification, or they don't understand that people's houses and neighborhoods aren't ever going to be recognized as points of interest. I don't doubt that some individuals get unlucky where they live, but to say it's only for people in New York or LA is silly.

I was wondering, are there any safety features for parents?

Like, "Pokémon sleep at night.. Don't go out hunting at 3am when parents are sleeping" type of thing.

Or take their devices away.

I can understand that cos of servers, but other stuff would take more lead time.

All I'm saying is that "release branded merchandise/goods" is located some steps after "advertise launch" lol. The popularity caught them off guard.
Caught, ha! I'm hilarious.

Super missed opportunity having AR Battles against other people. Could you imagine phone up and you could see the pokemon fighting. Would be sick.

They have stopped the rollout because of the server problems. I live in Europe and I am using the apk with no problem. It works very well. Also all the translations are already in place (German on the phone of my gf). Go for it!
