Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

A home location for slow healing is something that would really help the game, as long as it's not OP and setting up a home location next to a gym doesn't have issues.

Make it so you turn in up to 6 Poke at a time at your home base. While turned in they aren't usable. Then just have them tick up like 1 HP every 5 mins or something. The game could even do this while your phone is off. So like you could stash your Poke, go to bed, and wake up with your Poke healed. Yet it would be a slow trickle so you aren't gaining shit by camping.

I made a 180 on my strategy. Since this game isn't out here yet this it the best time to capture gyms and get free money. Leveled up my highest CP Pokémon to help my team (blue) which is already dominating my neighborhood.

It's happened to me, and so I quit the app and then going back in the pokemon is listed amongst my captured pokemon.

This only works if you were going to catch the pokemon on that throw. Which on level 16 it's uncommon to find pokemon that you can catch in one throw. This was after I used a Razz Berry and a Great ball.

Just got home from a wedding weekend. The night before, the groom and a bunch of us spent hours outside walking around a lake and around his neighborhood pokehunting. A few kids on bikes passed and someone in our party shouted, "pokemon go?!" The boys laughed, nodded and held up their phones on their way by. During the reception a bunch of people stepped out for "smokes and go." At a gas station on my way to the cabin I rented, an older lady walks in after me and immediately says "gotta catch'em all!" The clerk laughs and tells her, "welcome back." I asked the older lady if she was playing Go and she exclaims, "yeah, I love this game!" The clerk holds up her phone and shows us she's also playing. The other clerk behind her does the same. I tell them about my Go filled wedding weekend and we all laugh in some weird moment of camaraderie. A black dude, an older white lady and two gas station workers.

Finally, I make it to the forest my cabin is located and after settling in I notice the place has no cell signal but strong wifi. So I step out to Go a bit, despite it being near pitch dark and midnight. I immediately regret this decision after a few minutes when I hear loud rustling from nearby bushes. Well shit, I imagine I'm about to be bear or coyote or raccoon mauled. Instead a tall (and rather attractive) dudebro emerges from the trees with a bright phone in hand,a leaf and a twig sticking out of his hair. My relief at avoiding death by bear gives way to amazement. "...are you freakin playing Pokemon Go?!" He laughs, knocks the debris out of his hair and says, "Fuck yeah. I just caught a 135 Eevee." "Right on, me too!" We briefly chat for a bit before continuing on in separate directions.

Later, in bed, it hits me that this weekend was the most amazing, novel and unusual gaming experience I've ever had in my entire life. The diverse range of people I met playing this game, how insanely ubiquitous it already seems to be, how it's managing to get so many people OUTSIDE and exploring... it legit feels like the pokemon universe come to life.

Why?

People with Poke Stops all around them are already throwing away balls while people in rural areas are bailing on the game due to he inability to get more balls without money.

This essentially changes nothing for people near stops while fixing it for people not near stops.

Is it like the mainline Pokémon games, where if my Pokémon evolves, I will have to go catch it again to have the original? Let's say I have one Pikachu and it evolves to Raichu, I will no longer have Pikachu and need to catch it again to own one?

So what is my benefit for going to a pokestop then? I'm at pokestops exclusively to get pokeballs. I would just not go to them anymore, and that would be boring. I think they should just distribute pokestops more fairly somehow.

Dunmo if it will help.

I hope that you understand the goal of this app is to encourage people going out ?

How long are pokestops supposed to remain inactive for after use? I assumed a day (no idea why, I just did). Wandering around the town centre here, there's around 20 of them, at the end of the loop around an hour later most were live again - is this normal and can I expect the same next time? Only had a few pokeballs left when I set out (despite spending the few pennies I'd got from google surveys on them) but noticed I had 120 when I finished.

They should have a pokestop proximity handicap. If you're far away from them you get special treatment. Free pokeballs every once in a while.

Like 5-10 minutes, I'm not sure exactly. Doesn't seem long at all.

There are other items and eggs too.

Just catched this while at the office. Seems pretty good. Had an orange, slightly red ring:

edit: Woah. Just encountered a second one with 210cp but it vanished quickly after a direct-hit.

So the game isn't out here yet (UK) but I was wondering, do you get to look at the map? I mean, from the app, can I search around my area to see any stops or gyms? I understand Pokémon would only show up when they are near to you but Gyms and Stops should be stationary things right? The reason I ask is I live in a shitty town and can only think of a very small amount of places that might be considered for Gyms or Stops so it'd be useful to be able to see that "oh, there is a stop over there" etc.

50 exp, eggs, potions, revives, great/ultra/master balls, razzberries, whatever other items drop at higher levels. Once you hit rank 5, you'll start getting way more stuff from stops. (I don't know what level you are, I'm just assuming)

Yeah and if I had unlimited pokeballs I would be less likely to?

There are other items and eggs too.

Then that doesn't solve the problem that you don't get those.

I think that they should make a system that reads the proximity of pokestops and the amount of them in your area. If it's determined that you have an unfair disadvantage, you would be compensated with a handicap mode that provides you with all of the pokestop items for doing something else. Like walking.

Yeah, I get great balls right now, but my main goal of going to them is so I don't have to pay to catch pokemon. What I catch them with doesn't really matter to me. Give me unlimited pokeballs and I'm not going until I'm out of my 60+ razz berries lol

Bellsprout appeared, never seen one. It was stupidly low level (10cp), green catching circle, caught it with a "Nice!"

It ran away.

It looks like Google map. You can see some distance around your character, but you can't search anywhere. You can check out Ingress to see what it's like since that's what it's based off of.

My town is historic and has a stupid amount of pokestops. There's about 10 clustered around main street. One drive by gets me enough pokeballs and eggs for a while. One of the landmarks is "local watering hole".

This thing is going to be insane when its available everywhere right? Im in Belgium and its full of shit everywhere on my map and its not even available here. Its even been on the news telling people how to get it.

they can be used again in like 5 minutes.

You'd get masterballs and eggs and potions and such.

I live in a rural area with the closest pokestop being 2 km away, next one around 4 km, and then nothing visible on the map. I was starting to run out of pokeballs before I went down into the city today, and now I suddenly have 80+. The way the system works right now you're punished for going into the nature and rewarded for going to the dirty exhaust-filled city.

A wild Golbat appeared as I parked my car!

I'm still slightly confused how the pokebal mechanic works.

Am i supposed to wait for the circle to close as much as possible and slide my finger over the pokemon?

It all seems so random.

Yes, you've.
This accessory allowed to not look at your phone all the time but it's sold out.

I'll just quote my reply from above since it's basically a reply to you as well.

You have so much stardust lol I have like 150

So when catching pkoemon should I be trying to hit them in the head with the pokeballs or roll it in front of them?
I'm new to this whole thing :)

Why can't they just do this but without this device...

I was at the park and I couldn't find a person that wasn't playing. literally 100+ people throughout the 5 hours or so I was there. It was kinda surreal.

Kind of depends where you are. I'm in Denmark, a small country of 5.5 million citizens, and the app hasn't officially launched here either. I hope more will play it when it is officially released, hopefully in a few days.

Again the base Poke Balls for many are already effectively infinite. To the point where they are throwing them away.

This just skips that step, and then makes them infinite for everyone.

You'd still have an advantage in terms of getting other items, but you wouldn't fundamentally gimp players who run out of balls.

Doing it your way is just a bandaid.

Thing is, I don't need the other items to have fun.
Pokeballs are a MUST for catching.
Potions etc. are just for fighting which you don't need to do.

You should try and hit the circle. For the best chance to catch the pokemon you hold your finger on the pokeball until the inner circle gets as small as possible, then aim for that inner circle.
