Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I've been finding a whole lot of them at my home. It's kinda appropriate since the environment is the desert here.
South Florida suburbs, nice and humid... seen absolutely zero Sandshrews seen even in my nearby list for a second. Sandslash is my #1 favorite Pokémon. :( crossing my fingers to hatch one.

Is there anyone who wants to meet up at the Outlets at Orange aka the Block, Irvine Spectrum, or UCI at SoCal?

I have a few lures that I want to use and I would I appreciate if some of you would use some too. I heard there are a lot of Pokestops there.

I am heading to the Block mall now and I can meet tomorrow.

I was amazed how well my legs held up these last few days walking so much then I woke up this morning....

Can you kick friendly team members out of gyms? There's a gym by my house, I trained against it until the level went up and put my pokemon in the new spot. Now someone else is there. What's going on?

Most likely the gym was attacked by a rival team until the prestige fell below the threshold for the number of pokemon it currently had and yours was kicked out since it was the weakest. It was then trained by your fellow team members until it was above that threshold again and they placed one of there pokemon in the slot.

This game isn't out in the UK yet but if its GPS location based surely it's easy as fuck to spoof you're location and cheat right?

Are there any measures to stop cheaters?

There's no need to spoof your location, the game isnt in our stores yet however the poke stops, pokemon spawns and gyms are all in place, if you want to get in all you have to do is download the app from the US/AUS store..

I'm playing from London and pretty much every gym I see on my way to work has been taken so theres a lot of people playing already. I've seen loads of kids hanging around pokestops too.

Thank you very much for the answers. Still gotta get to Level 5 to tackle gyms.

Do you have one? Did you need anything else to evolve the Eevee other than the candy?

Eevees just need 25 candy to evolve. The one they evolve into is based on their second move. For me personally body slam = vaporeon, dig = jolteon, and swift = flareon. I believe it may be random the first time and then lock you into a subset or it may be team based.

So is it better to evolve a Pokemon even if you catch it's evolution?

I just caught an Electrode with 449CP but have a Voltorb at 222CP that I can evolve. Would the Voltorb end up with more CP points than my Electrode when I evolve it? Or should I just break down that Voltorb so I have another candy to power up the Electrode?

How so? If you have one posted at a gym, it should be visible.

I'd assume they'd be around in Texas, but then again the area around Houston has more fields and water than anything.

Only you can see your nicknames. Everyone else sees the pokemon's normal name, even in gyms.

I'm positive there is. At home I get Eevee and Clefairy up to my eyes (I've met more Eevee than Rattata!), but once I leave it's a barren wasteland of junk.

But I've never seen a Caterpie at home, but get them all the time around work. Slowpoke only seem to be around work as well.

Exactly the same situation. Eevee, Clefairy, Drowzee, Rattata, Bulbasaur, Weedle and Bellsprout are incredibly common a small walk away from my house. Never see Bulbasaur anywhere else, and see tonnes of Caterpie in the local town but never one where I actually live.

Just checking in to see if there's any significant regional difference. My most common pokemon are:

Pidgey, Spearow, Zubat, Drowzee, Nidoran male/female

Rattata, Ponyta, Venonat, Geodude & Zubat / Pidgey. Oh and lots of Doduos too but I never bother catching them.

I am visiting a very rural town atm.

At Level 14 and every other Pokemon I see is a Zubat still.

So jealous of those of you with a bunch of Eevee's around. I caught one today and that was my highlight. Still need about four more to go to spin the wheel and see if I can get Jolteon.

Depends. If the Electrode's moveset is a good one, it's normally better to keep powering it. The exception is if you really want the EXP. If the moveset is lacklustre, though, evolve the Voltorb.

You would have to wait 10 days just to get more pokemons for 100.

Dammit Nintendo, being so greedy.

Which is why you should have a Pokemon posted to as many gyms as possible.

Having a Pokemon stand guard at 10 gyms means you wait just one day.

Is there a list of what every Pokemon could possibly know in Go? It has Tackle and Thunderbolt, but I don't know what the other possibilities are.

Ever since level 10, everything is breaking out 5+ times now, even if I use berries or get a "nice!" or "great!" throw. Even if they're not a high cp as well (just had a cp 40 caterpie break out 4 times then run.) What am I doing wrong?

This is very important information. Thank you.

I think the best way for Niantic to make money on this would be sponsored Pokestops. Let Chipotle or McDonald's pay to have every store turned to a pokestop for a week. It's a win-win-win!
