Is there a way to install this app on a phone with no carrier without rooting your phone? I want to install it but the Play store won't let me with the error message "No carrier"...makes no sense since my phone is 5.1 and plays more intensive games. What the fuck?

Have a look around my area, red team is dominating with some crazy high CP pokemon in all the gyms.

It'd be cool if it was a typical global trade thing, but I'm betting it's going to be PokeStop-based. You leave a Pokemon at a stop, and put in who you want to receive for it. The trade expires after X hours, and you get your mon back in the case that no one wants that trade. But at the very least, visiting a PokeStop has the potential for netting you some rare mons without the need for expending pokeballs or lures.

Wrestled a Yellow gym earlier today just outside a Walmart. Much to my surprise, not more than two minutes after claiming the gym, two team Mystic members come out of the woodwork and reinforce my capture! I have no idea who those people are, but they very well may have locked down that gym for us for at least the next day or so!!
Tell me about it. I've seen a few team up by my job, but at home...its a RvB all day. When i'm strong enough though...lightning will strike.

Is Kingler rare? Krabbys, at least, are regularly on my "nearby radar" whenever I glance at it. I've seen Kingler's silhouette enough, too, but haven't bothered to catch one since there's so many krabbys to eventually evolve for points.
Actually, any rough rarity list? I've seen a few floating around social media, but they're too different from one another to rely on and it's hard to judge without solid consensus. My bad if it's been discussed or posted earlier today, thread just moves too quickly.

Ugh, saw Cubone's silhouette on the way back from the park and hunted for it for a good 30 minutes and came away empty handed. Just couldn't hone in on it. I hope they improve the tracking/radar in a future update.

I'm pretty sure I lost an egg due to the server issues earlier. I kept trying to log in because I had used a Lure+Incense+Lucky Egg without realizing how fucked everything was, and at some point between all the log in attempts and app resets, my 5km egg with .1km left disappeared, and I didn't get any new Pokemon. =/

Just got home from a 3 hour adventure. The signal at the mall sucks so I'm never doing that again. I followed the pokestops and I ended up at a park where we were just setting lures with a group of 9 people. This Park had about 7 pokestops and 2 gyms. At the end there were about 30 people just walking around majority of them team mystic! I caught 3 onix my way back home.

I'm proud to report that in my rural town the few Instinct players are holding down gyms. It's getting harder every day but we still stand.
I saw a Charmander was in my area, so I popped outside with my barely charged phone for a look, and saw another 20 something bloke cruising around with thongs on who had clearly popped out to try his luck too. Considering the weather we're having here in Adelaide, its crazy how many people are on board this.

Well guys I finally found a game that exceeds the feeling I had playing World of Warcraft the first 3 years. I walked 3 hours tonight up and down my main street and met 15 random people. We worked together and took down 2 gyms. I also caught 4 unique Pokemon I hadn't gotten before. I saw more but I didn't want to get arrested for trespassing.
Man lures are almost required. If I put money in it will be for those.

Not a bad day today. Hit level 15. Got my first monster(Azura) over 1k CP. Evolved Morowak and Pidgeot and found a monster Pinsir. Top of my box so far.

I got a Tangela, a Raticate, and a Butterfree from incense. Not sure how good those are though haha
after testing, yes. But with a caveat, you have to ride around or use a bike. Then good stuff will show up.

I just lost all my great balls on a Scyther because of the wind mechanic(?). I'm not even sure if it's a mechanic, but balls just start curving for no reasons. I assumed it was due to wind because it's been slightly windy today.
