Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

I went out for what was meant to be a brief jog and thought I could catch some Pokemon and check out if there are any pokestops on the way. However I ended up getting lost in the woods after going out my way to get to a pokestop. I ended up wandering around the woods for about an hour and a half trying to make my way out.

I didn't even catch anything :( It did illustrate to me the possible risks this game could have to people. I can imagine a lot of kids would be tempted to travel outside of the areas they are normally used to to reach gyms and pokestops.

Man, if I started from day 1 I could be king of this tiny ass town. Highest level person I see is 16 and he's also red. I'm at 12 and quickly climbing the ranks. Not bad for basically my 3rd day playing.

If I attack a gym and lose the very first battle, I've simply done nothing at all against it or for myself correct? I'm not lowering its prestige at all right?

OK guys just figured something out, so like I said before I work in a remote area and noticed that 1 pokemon spawns in the exact same spot almost exactly every hour. If I don't capture said pokemon it gets instantly replaced by another at the 1hr mark. So far I had 3 charmanders spawn there with only geodude/growlith in between those charmanders.

Oh and incense works even if there's literally 0 pokemon around. The two times I've used it I got a pokemon every 5-10mins even if I wasn't walking.

Your own Pokemon will have:
if friendly gym: lost health
if hostile gym: Passed out (need revive) and lost health

how do you get lost when you are staring at the equivalency of google maps?

Took over the local library gym just as the sun was going down last night. Figured it'd be safe through the night, we had three Pokemon guarding it.

Wake up this morning and there are three yellow bastards there. Who the hell is going around in the middle of the night to these places? Seems a bit dangerous to me.

And there Team Mystic took back Edinburgh castle.
My two other team participants just placed some feeble ~130cp critters in the third and second spot of the gym. No challenge.

i wonder if i made an ingress account years ago because my 3 common internet usernames were all taken. Had to stuff a random number in there to make it work

Release this in Europe alreaaaady! I dont want to install using the APK incase any unforeseen problems appear when it officially releases here

No. But it's easier to get a feel for throwing pokeballs. It's a lot more consistent when the Pokemon are standing still and center.

Ahh, right on. I disagree, I always fling pokeballs in a specific direction with my natural thumb movement, so being able to move the pokemon into my line of fire is a lot easier. That's just me, though.

I'm sure just 3 dudes in a car pull up quick, park and take it over.

I know, I always play with AR off, and even if the pokemon is centered and still, sometimes the pokeball just does not go in the right direction or falls too short. That has been happening since I leveled up, not sure if it is supposed to get harder and harder to get a pokemon even if they are green or yellow

Had a awesome time with a couple of friends just catching pokemon together going from lure to lure, spent 5 hours walking around and talking to strangers.

Is there a good reliable app or webpage that is good for looking up weaknesses of Pokemon? I keep just Google searching and finding different pages for different Pokemon and some of them are not exactly forthright with the info I'm looking for...

My home is friggin infested by Pidgies >_<

Should I evolve a couple of them to Pidgeottos? I already evolved one but I think I have new Pidgeys with more CP than the one I evolved.

Yeah. It's easier to curve ball with AR on but I also catch on the move so I play with it off.

What if he is hit with gravity?
Immunity is lost. :P

Yeah distance screws me up a lot. I'm actually pretty bad at it. Seems like certain Pokemon are at certain distances.

It's probably the easiest way to level for people infested with pidgies. Keep capturing them, then mass evolve them all with a lucky egg on if you want. 1000XP a go.

I use something called Poketype on my android phone, you can search by type or by pokemon name and it'll list everything nicely.

So this guy just hatched

do you usually throw the pokeball with a curve? really? I just do a straight line

At around level 8 or 9, you get given a free Lucky Egg, which doubles your XP for 30 minutes. One tip is to save up a bunch of eligible Pokemon to evolve, then when you get your Lucky Egg, activate it, and go through and evolve a bunch of the easy to evolve Pokemon (particularly Weedle, Caterpie and Pidgey since they only require 12 candy to evolve) to get heaps of XP.

Just make sure you transfer enough of those Pokemon to get the candy so you can evolve the rest of them.

I think evolving nets you 500 xp, so with the Lucky Egg, you get 1000 xp per evolution.

Thanks! Time to make the nest bigger, then.

Thanks! Still level 4, but I'll take that into account.

Could I use a US account to download my game on to my current phone and get a head start and be able to sign in when I get my new phone without hassle? Kinda don't wanna get left behind while I'm waiting for the new phone to arrive.

Yep, yep you can. This is what I did this morning with my iPhone and it works perfectly!

Well, time to chop down the Viridian Forest, folks.

Trying to think of a good route to walk today, did a 11km walk yesterday while playing and it was a great way to pass the time.

After slowly going crazy the last couple of weeks from being unemployed this might be just what I need
