Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Not just America, the whole world is in the throes of Pokémania right now. I actually didn't offer my sympathies before like I should have; sorry you had to run head first into an asshat upon starting the game out madp.

And yep Dion, you're the Gym Leader. :)
 
So this literally just popped up behind me in my living room after encountering nothing but Oddish and Venonat while walking my dog.

Holy crap, I saw three lures in my local park 3 blocks away,and sure enough, there were about 25 to 35 people just walking around playing this game. It was so surreal. I now believe.

The position of the CP arc is relative to your level right? So doesn't that mean that the arc of any Pokemon will shrink as you continue to level up? And because of that, it's in your best interest to evolve Pokemon before you level up too much?
 
Is is just me, or is Jolteon criminally underpowered compared to Vaporeon? My maxed out Jolteon only has slightly higher CP than my 80~ Vaporeon, am I missing something?
 
I think I'm having almost as much fun reading about coffee shops and sports stars and police departments and the U.S. Marines all tweeting about the game, as I am playing it myself.

People comparing this to a viral pandemic aren't kidding around. The spread of this is beyond comprehension.
 
Just now, I got off work and needed to go to the bank . I noticed a bunch of people walking in the park. I then checked the app and 5 lures were going off, next to each other. Like 50 people in this small park playing Go. Just amazing. Of coure I joined them. Finally reached level 8. Crazy
 
I was driving back to my place tonight through downtown and noticed a horde of people swarming around a bridge all shouting about a vaporeon sighting and made for the closest parking space I could find. The one I caught was only CP78 but it was absolutely nuts and awesome to see everybody literally coming together over one pokemon and having a good time.

Went to a frisbee golf course, it was kinda out in the sticks so for most of the area is was devoid of pokemon. Well except for the entrance which seemed like a portal to the Clefairy dimension. I had only seen one once, so it was weird seeing them spawn like crazy.
 
Someone decided that it was better to kick my pokemon out of my Gym and puts his to guard it, instead of joining forces

....shit is goin down
 
Guys met another grill. Another cutie. 23. Talked a little bit, separated into the crowd.

Found each other again 10 minutes later, smiled in her direction (cause I finally evolved a Vaporeon). She came over to talk to me again. We chilled and chatted for an hour. She asked me to walk her home. I did.

I was too scared to ask for her number. Guys why is this game showcasing my inability to date women who aren't hooked up by my friends. :c
 
Now I know how all those characters in RPGs must feel like when I make them go in circles over and over and over to grind mats or experience lol


Ahhhh, I think I see a Psyduck with 3 footprints, too bad it's so late :(

Also rural players, as you said, are in such a disadvantage in regards of items gained and Pokemon catching that it really can kill the fun rather quickly.

Yep. It's barely a game but the first 5-6 levels it was alright. As a rural player it's rather frustrating now as every day when I'm out walking in mountains and what not I have nothing to catch all these pokemons with, simply due to my living location and work location.

For those living or working in a city where you can farm these spots every 5 minutes and help each other out with lures it's fine but as someone who don't have that it's a massive grind, and a very poorly mechanical one at that.

Infuriatingly poor on the developer teams part.
 
Anybody else think there should be a longer delay between receiving rewards at pokey-stops? At the park today this group of zombie-players were just walking back-and-forth between stops over and over.

I think the idea should be to encourage players to explore and find new stops. Like a 2 hour reset time.

No way. Then I couldn't grind Pokeballs while I'm at work.

I got the 2 gyms at like 11pm last night, checked again before bed at around 1am and they were still mine

Unless someone from the other team got it in the middle of the night and then another Mystic got it back this morning

I guess that might be it if you can only strengthen a gym if it's of your own faction

I have sinned, I paid 13 cents to a mobile game. I have never paid money to a mobile phone game before.

I had a little bit of Google Play credit and I wanted to get my 9nth egg incubator.
 
It would be cool if the game showed you the % of gyms being held for each faction in each "region" or city. The entire team should get a bonus for holding most % for a certain amount of time.
 
Yesterday I tried ti put a Pokemon in a gym my team owned, but ended up fighting a Pokemon there. I don't get it. Was it full or something, or do you have to beat an existing Pokemon to place yours there? What would have happened if I won? And what happens to the defending gym Pokemon if I win? Does it faint/lose HP?
