Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

If Europe just got Go then hopefully Canada is on its way. I also hope I can somehow bring this account to Canadian app store because I don't want to lose my Pokemon.

Does anyone know if 5km eggs give as much stardust as 2km eggs?

I live in Los Angeles county, so I'm sure the stop frequency situation isn't terrible

My game says start date 7/6/2016, don't think I played the first day or so but have played as much as I could since

Ah. I downloaded it on the 9th and didn't start until the 10th. Here's hoping I can catch up to at least you in a similar time frame. =D

IMHO there's def tricks to leveling, or at least make it more painless

2 hours ago I found this badass driving around our dead ass late night town

I bought a set of 20 pokeballs because I ran out. There are no pokestops near my house so it's becoming a pain in the ass.

If you miss your throw that you can retrieve the Ball by clicking on it before it has completely rolled off of the screen

This might help you conserve your pokeballs a bit. :)

Holy shit. I live in a small village in a small european country. App is not even released here yet. I took a walk to the village's church, since its the only pokestop in decent walking distance. Upon arriving and reclaiming the itens, i notice a car pullibg over. Two young dudes get out with their phones, ask me if im playing Pokémon GO. We've a bit of a chit chat, they use the pokestop, and we capture a Pidgeotto that spawned right after.

My mind is a bit blown right now.

I know her first and last name, where she works, and where she lives. I feel like it'd be creepy though to actively find her on FaceBook to ask her, or "casually" run into her at her work place.

I would just add her o Facebook. Facebook is for that, add people that you just recently meet, atleast it's always what I do and what others people do with me when I meet new people at a club or a meeting or something.

That's cool. I live in a small EU town too. I have a gym and a pokestop near my house and although there's people playing (Gyms are owned by players) I have yet to catch anyone that looks like it's playing the game on the street or in parks.
For what I've been told bigger cities around here are the same.

PokemonGoApp (the official one) has just tweeted that it's available in Germany, and to follow for future announcements. So it doesn't look like Europe all in one go, but country by country as they stagger it.

best way to meet people: drop a lure in a park :)

First time I've spent real money on a game and the triple backpack upgrade, pokemon double upgrade, and incubator increase was totally worth it.

I could be wrong , but I've noticed curve gets even worse the higher the pokemons cp is...not sure what that's about
I haven't noticed any difference other than lower-level pokemon suddenly being able to escape regular Pokéballs the higher my trainer level is. So now I spin everything because at one of the gatherings, someone told me spin throws gain more experience and have higher catch rates. Seems to feel true but I don't know for certain.

Curveballs give a 10XP bonus. I think that's all though lol

It took me like 17 great balls just to catch my Dragonair tonight. All the while praying it wouldn't run away.

It's true, if you pay attention it literally tells you it's rewarding you for a curve ball

Just noticed a change in 1.0.1: before the map on the Pokémon detail screen shows you a close up of where you caught that Pokémon. Now it shows you the entire area where that Pokémon is common.

Really good change IMO.

I knew about the xp, I was referring more to the spin having higher catch rates.
I'm currently using ultra balls and throwing a curveball helps hugely, just takes some time learning to throw

Catch rate goes up due to improving accuracy, which improves catch rate

Since it's out now in Germany and UK, they will most likely try to push other countries by tomorrow evening since that's when featuring starts. I also heard rumours pointing to that, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for those that haven't been able to play the game yet :)

Don't think it is but i'll test it to make certain.
It's fake. I posted a video of it a while ago and with two Pokéballs, I gained 0 and had nothing to catch with all day. Lol

Ah, that could be it. Good point.

Yeah, seeing some Pokemon CP in this thread is discouraging.
I work and can't compete with kids/students/unemployed who can spend all freaking day on this.
Especially here in France, two month summer holidays, pack it up, it's done.

Just found a good way to get pokeballs, found a spot in my house that JUST reaches the pokestop behind me and i set my phone on the floor there, every 5 minutes I go collect my items lol. Hopefully the GPS doesn't spaz out and my guy won't move.

Set lures and invite chicks to your pad

Just got the app, please bear with me.
So, it says there is a pokemon nearby (looks like some rat silhouette). What do I have to do to make it show up?

You are not wrong. I'm a pretty damn good shot but I wasted nearly 30 balls on some flying guy last night with 500+ CP (I'm an old man who knew nothing of Pokemon before Saturday and am nearly ashamed at how hooked I am at this game). I would almost say it curved the ball with the flapping of its wings.

Wander around until you find it's location. It can be quite difficult at first, especially as 3 foot prints can mean any amount of distance.

Go doesn't seem great at unloading pokémon once you get too far away. Many of them drop off the map, but some seem to just stay on there, even when you're now miles away from when they first turned up.

Just read all 261 pages of this thread and you should be fine.

No, but seriously... I recommend reading some of the dozens of beginners guides to help you get started.
