Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

So many PokeStop in my city I just acquired a full screen of eggs. I think I'm going to get them all within 0.1km of hatching then use that lucky egg, do some power leveling.

I mean, they should get what regions they are released in under control before adding more.

Whether that is the US or not, it just doesn't make sense to roll out into more territories with unstable servers.
 
This is starting to feel weird, just seeing this absolutely huge worldwide gaming phenomenon happening, and yet most of us can't even join in! We're just sitting idly by watching this thing happen before us. It's like being at the worlds greatest lap dancing club where we can't touch the dancers.

Hopefully not long now until for other countries..

I don't disagree; but as someone without access to the game yet, I would have hoped they'd have them under control by now.

There are different time zones. It's been working perfectly in Germany all day until like 1 pm US time.
It's ridiculous to cut out other countries due to 2-3 hour shortages in server capacities

I assumed he meant that they just launched Germany today or something.

Obviously I would never cut out a territory where the game has already launched in. But if the servers are awful they shouldn't launch in new territories period.
 
Got back in. I'm now at like 6/6 for the Poké Ball freeze glitch. Literally a 100% failure rate, and this is starting from yesterday. And before that most of yesterday was like, 90% failure.

No. Fearow is the end of the evolution chain of that family so you can only power it up
 
I got my first Lucky Egg today. What should I do to maximize my 30 minutes of double XP?

I have 15 Pidgeys ready to evolve. I have 2 Eggs incubating and close to hatching.

Anything else I can do to get big quick XP burst? (None of my Pokemon are ready to take on a gym yet)

Camp out near some lures and pop an incense too.

Be at a lure and catch whatever you can, especially new Pokemon. Otherwise you're pretty much set. Try to evolve as much as you can otherwise as well.
 
Really weird how my town has barely any Pokespots for 10 miles, yet when I head 10 minutes into town right across a bridge it's like someone dropped a bag of M&Ms...
 
Have not been able to catch a single Pokemon this morning. Errors when catching or freezes on the Pokeball.

Server issues are making me not want to play.
 
Reading about the server issues again, this bodes bad for a Japan release this week.
Hopefully Niantic can do something about this soon.
 
Maybe it's a blessing in disguise to be in a smaller city, I get crashes but not nearly as often as everyone else seems to

The servers have been so fucked today, I honestly think that would just be a waste of a Lure/Incense. Probably 80% of my catches result in a freeze/forcequit. I'm not even sure if I get XP for those, and even if I did I'd spend like half of my XP bonus time rebooting the game.

Given the length of the evolution animations, I imagine most of my time is going to be eaten up simply evolving all those Pidgeys and whatever evolution-ready monsters I have in inventory.

But that's great advice for when the servers are more stable, thanks!

The servers can't seem to cope with everyone wanting to play this on their way to work in Sydney. It has been down every morning until about midday/early afternoon for me.
 
And there it is. An entire fucking (paid) Incense wasted. Was able to be online for a total of 30 seconds throughout, enough to engage two Pokémon and Poké Ball freeze both times. Incredible.

Apparently, it's night and day difference. I live in a town called West Monroe, which basically has no landmarks of any kind and it really shows... Monroe on the other hand is ancient and filled with all sorts of places that count as landmarks, unfortunately they never understood the invention known as the sidewalk.
 
Haven't downloaded this yet. Trying to figure out a team first.

I grew up on Pokemon Red.

But my favorite color is blue.

Yet my favorite bird is Zapdos.

You'll want a minimum of 45 evolutions ready before firing off a Lucky Egg, IMO. Just keep waiting. You'll be there naturally by level 12 or so if you catch all the Weedle, Caterpie and Pidgey you so, and the first boost should take you through to level 16.
