Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire: Mega Rayquaza confirmed during livestream

Finally Flying Dragon Types are not ashamed of their Flying roots.

Salamance with Aerialate
Rayquaza with Dragon Ascend
Dragonite with Hurricane

Awww yeah, Fighting Pokemons get fucked!!

Also let's give Yvetal Gale Wing please.

Ayy lmao.

Choice Band/SD Adamant 80 base attack may get Talonflame through OU, but in Ubers it's likely a different story

This is from the website for those wondering

Wait, what?!

I'm guessing they'll be considered the same to prevent multiple uses on the same team

I don't know, Kyogre's been King of Ubers for two gens now, and that 2nd one wasn't as dominant as the first. I personally think it's time for a return to glory,

With Groudon and Mewtwo as the queens iirc of course

Salamence's main STAB during gen 3 (along with Gyarados) was HP Flying

And screw that idea, Yveltal's Sucker Punch is already the most powerful priority in the game
which makes that an AMAZING game.

Ubers is already the tier where a bunch of broken pokemon gather together to somehow be really balanced and a place where near any playstyle thrives and a bunch of random not-broken pokemon are still really useful

Wow, that's the best looking Mega from ORAS thus far.

Still no Flygon, my faith is dwindling. :(

November needs to arrive already.

I still like Mega Swampert the best but I think I'm the only one. I hope Tropius gets fixed somehow.

It took me awhile to figure out what Rayquaza's Mega Form reminded me of. Then it hit me. Since I saw that Bionicle topic in OT, Rayquaza reminded me of the first Toa Lewa. LOL

I really like the design, but I was kind of expecting it to be a "Primal" evolution.

The remaining Megas are probably going to be for 'mon no one is asking for.

I, for one, will welcome our new Mega Butterfree overlords.

Its weird how Mega's are chosen. They are mix of popular pokemon and Pokemon that needed a little extra something. So honestly who knows what will be next.

What? How exactly. Because they got their names reverse?

Anyway we need Magnezone mega evolution with Levitate. Make it look like the Enterprise

BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT IS DONT EVEN DENY IT

but yeah

i never understood BAGON > SHELGON > FLYGON-NOPE SALAMENCE

because its like the million other counterparts in pokemon like sawk/throh and a million others i cant be fucked listing cause STOP DENYING IT

Dude that's so Trippy! Salamence should have been named Flygon all along.

Next you'll be telling us how Venonat should evolve into Butterfree.

Besides, even if you stretch to say they're counterparts, there's no guarantee that it'll get a Mega evo too. Jynx didn't evolve with Electabuzz and Magmar, Baynette didn't get an evo with Dusclops etc etc etc.

I also remember them being opposed to each a few times in expanded material, like TCGs sets and that one scene near the end of Jirachi wishmaker. This kind of thing isn't a guarantee, though. It took Banette two gens to get any sort of boost after Dusclops got its own evo.

Salamance counter part was Metagross bro, Flygon is like Altaria, just a way for gamegreak to introduce weaker, more obtainable Dragons.

No, Salamence's was always Dragonite. One was constantly outclassing the other and being more useful.

Flygon's best comparison is Garchomp, although that's a depressing completely outclassed comparison that Flygon deserves better than

The "names were switched!" actually is definitely false...

Because Flygon is Flygon in Japan. Salamence, on the other hand, is Bohmander, and his pre-evolutions don't have the "gon" suffix. Also, Flygon isn't a salamander in any sense of the word, so I don't see why Salamence would fit for him.

You can't have a counterpart come out two generations after, it doesn't make sense. Is like saying Gardevoir is a counterpart of Alakazam, it's more like a refresh. (like the new Moth Pokemon is to Butterfree)

Flygon has a different typing and different stats, both are obtainable in the same game, one has way higher stats than the other, one is more rare also. As you can run into tranpich a lot but might never see a Bagon in your first play trough.

I agree on the name thing - it's a theory that doesn't work because it assumes the names are the same in Japan. Also Flygon is an antlion.

Salamence and Flygon were sort of considered counterparts of each other back in Gen 3.

Err no they're not. Flygon's not even a pseudo.

The TCG definitely did, I remember there was a pack me and my bro got with two decks in it, one Flygon, one Salamence.

Also Movie 6 had them fight it out too.

I wouldn't say they're counterparts, but they have been teamed with and against eachother because they were both dragons introduced in Hoenn and they both die if a snowflake is thrown at them.

Its like he infused with the steel ant pokemon
any other Pokemon have the same jaw ?

Not the same jaw, no.

His jaw is the shape of the greek letter, Delta

This is also seen on a pattern on its head.

Primal Groudon & Kyogre have Omega and Alpha in their designs as well.

At least that's better than getting the sprites mixed up like they did with Butterfree and Venomoth.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this till pics are out...

But Serebii just posted this:

The next batch of CoroCoro information has been posted to Japanese forums and this batch showcases more information about the upcoming game Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. While pictures have yet to be posted, the information that has come out is set to reveal Mega Latios, Mega Latias as well as two brand new Megas, Mega Pidgeot and Beedrill. Images of these specific parts of CoroCoro are yet to come, so it's technically unconfirmed, but the leakers have shown other parts of CoroCoro giving credence to this. We'll bring more, and pics, as they come so keep checking back.

HOLY FUCK.
