Pokemon Ranger (NDS) announced

So hmm....what is it? The only pic who appears to be new and relevant is too small (the one in Q5, well that might be the collosseum clone)

Maybe you take care of the Pokemon Safari Park? (I think thats what it's called in the RPGs)

A Pokemon version of Zoo tycoon

As far as I understand the pictures the platform of Pokemon Ranger is undecided. If this is correct it would be nice if someone of the mods could edit the Topic Title and delete the (NDS) please. Thank you.

Maybe Pokemon Ranger is a Revolution title?

so, we know pokemon ranger exists but we don't know what it is or what platform it's on, mmm...

could be gba, iirc nintendo said new pokemon games would be coming for gc [xd], ds [pearl/diamond] and gba [?].

pearl and diamond pushed into next year, was a november release ever official? disappointing but probably for the best, i want pearl and diamond to better ruby/sapphire/emerald, and i'm sure that's what ishihara and co are going for.

anticipation level +max :D

Hey hey hey~

It says that Pokemon Ranger is the MOVIE title! :lol

And yes, it says it might be another Pokemon game release with the movie.
ahhh... so that's it. :lol

Man... 2006... I was hoping Pearl/Diamond would be out during Q4 this year.
I would almost assume the English version might not be out until Q4 2006 then.. or even Q1 2007.

:(

hmm..maybe i will buy Emerald for the time being. 2006 is just too long to wait for another pokemon.

btw, DS needs MORE GAMES in the RPG department.

Ranger is the next movie.
John, we're having a very nice time here with our rampant, uninformed speculation. Try not to ruin everything.

OMG MAYBE IT IS THE PSP VERSION?!?!? NINTENDO THIRD PARTY?!?!

Actually DP has been confirmed as a november release according to the always reliable serebii.net. It's on the forums, a sticky thread made by a moderator

"Pokemon Ranger: The Path of Diamond and Pearl" is the title of the Pokemon movie in 2006. Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl will also be coming out for the Nintendo DS as games in 2006. Hope that clears stuff up.

Cheers!!

Remember the Game and Film will talk to each other or something, so when the movie comes out the game will come out>>???

Q1 2006? Pokemon DP versus Crisis Core FF7?

So let me get this straight...From these scans we know that Pokemon Diamond & Pearl will be released for the NDS in Q1 2006, and will allow 16 players to link up through WiFi? And the next movie is called Pokemon Ranger? Correct so far?

Yep.

And this weekend, there's Pokémon Festa in Japan. That would be the perfect cue for announcement of more info about Diamond & Pearl, perhaps even about going online.

Holy shit, they are combining Pokemon with Power Rangers!

Go Go Pokerangers!

Yellow Pikachu Ranger Go!
Red Charizard Ranger Go!
Blue Squirtle Ranger Go!
Green Bulbasaur Ranger Go!
Pink Jigglypuff Ranger Go!

This Corocoro scan features an interview with the three main people, the producer (Tsunegazashi Ishihara), the director (Jyunichishi Masuda), and the art/graphic director (Kenshi Sugimori), involved in the development of D/P.

What we know about D/P from this interview:

1) DS is confirmed to be the platform for D/P, and like before, both games will come out together

2) The games will be able to connect with both the GBA and GC, and the producer said they will be compatible with all the GBA games released so far (he didn't mention Colosseum and XD in particular, but it's granted that they might be too), and you can transfer all the pokemon you worked hard on in R/S/E/FR/LG to D/P (most likely there will be limitations like you can't trade before you beat something in D/P, although it isn't mentioned)

3) Neither of the three men specified the exact number of new pokemons, but they just say there will be a lot, including both pre-evo and new evo of existing pokemons

4) The new pokemons revealed so far like Munchlax and Rukario will be in the games, though they still haven't finalized how their roles will be. Corocoro's small bracket quote states that the same pokemon usually plays a different role in the movies and in the games

5) D/P takes place in a completely different new region compared with Kanto, Johto and Hoenn. However, this new region's inhabitants will certainly include existing pokemons. The Corocoro quote wonders if it will be a high-tech region like Orre in XD

6) How the opening sequence of D/P will be remains undecided. Up to R/S/E, players pick one out of three starters and add 5 more members to build their team. The three men didn't mention if this trend will change, but said everything is still under discussion

7) About the new features of DS, the producer mentioned that D/P will make use of DS's capability of linking 16 players together, and will most likely make use of the touch-screen function like Dash

8) The producer confirms that there will not be new types, but there will be new type combinations, like Rukario's steel/fighting combo type

9) Pokemon Ranger - The Path to Diamond and Pearl, will be a project released in 2006 that goes in conjunction with the new movie and anime (it doesn't mean they will come out together, just that all these new pokemon stuff will all enter the pokemon world in 2006, and complement each other). The Corocoro quote mentions that the preview of next year's movie (probably shown during movie 8) will feature this Pokemon Ranger title.

*Now, there is no real proof that this is a game, so I'll just call it a project from the literal Japanese translation, although this Japanese term is often used to describe games. Since Corocoro calls it the new project aside from D/P, chances are it is a game.

Finally, at the top left corner, D/P will come out in 2006, without a set date or price yet.

This info makes me soooooooooooooooooooooooo happy!

Looks like it wasnt so reliable after all. Damn that article make it sounds like they are just getting started.

I wouldnt mind so much but it always takes several more months for the english version

Yeah! I hope it's as easy as having the DS read Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Fire Red/Leaf Green from the GBA slot. I don't know how linking to Colosseum/Extra Dimension will work, but I really hope there is some way...

There's that mysterious port for the DS, right? Might've been for a microphone or something.

Or, Diamond and Pearl come on both DS cards and a GBA cart that is purely used for data purposes. However, this doesn't seem likely because of the RSE/FRLG connectivity.

Or a DS SP with a GBA link cable port is coming out on the same day. MEGATON :D

um....Or you import Colo/XD PKMN to the GBA carts and trade them over to D/P from there....

Let's hope Pokemon Ranger != Pokemon Dash. I've played more interesting games on a flash site.

Oh. Hi. I'm new.
