Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

KeyholeTV is pretty cool, but it's not really useful for me, outside of the rare event like this. Takes a minute to figure out what the channels are, also.
 
You guys are nuts, that Pokemon Sunday is effing mental. Well, so is all Japanese TV (that I've ever seen anyways) but whatever, the, what, like 40-year-old men? Next to the guys dressed up as Lucario and shit? Noooo way am I EVER watching that. Again :P
 
All i know is that if cross breeding is confirmed (think venutoise) i will shit my ass off. I'm just expecting changes to the battle system though. However, cross breeding would make breeding as realistic as possible. All they would have to do is re-determine a finite number of breeding pairs.

I don't know about pokemon, but I feel like I gain a level whenever I am stoned.
 
So as of this post it's 9:18 AM Saturday in Japan. So that's 13 hours difference to me (I'm Eastern).

So I'm guessing it will begin at 5:30 PM tomorrow.

Also, Did Wii_Will_Rock_U ever get to explain himself on the breeding thing? Waaay back in the week leading up to the announcement of HGSS remakes, WWRU leaked that the games hinted at would indeed be remakes of Gold and Silver, and he also leaked some other stuff that I think turned out to be true. He also said there would be a big overhaul to the breeding system and that pokemon would look different based on how they were bred. Unfortunately I think he got banned before he could explain himself as to why that feature isn't in HGSS. So maybe, HOPEFULLY he was right about the feature and Gamefreak just decided to wait to implement it until gen 5

He was just making stuff up. He said that the spiky eared Pichu was part of this breeding system.
 
Well I remember that he said that all his info came from someone else, so I guess that was probably his excuse if any of it turned out to be bad. On top of that, most of his info was stuff that could easily be guessed by anyone. Don't really miss him.

What happened to him/her? I remember the name when i was a lurker. In fact, i remember exactly what you are talking about and it inspired my post.

He was manning a fake Prof Layton Twitter account, which created a bullshit rumour about a new Smash Bros game. More importantly, he made a thread about it here on GAF. Self promotion for shite is not appreciated on GAF, it would seem.

Yeah I remember him saying that. But apparently the notch eared pichu is brought "from an ancient time" by celebii, so it is very possible that we could find out that it was a special bred pichu in gen 5. I dunno, he just didn't seem like he was trying to bullshit us. Maybe I'm just gullible though

Whoo, we could start getting info within the next four or five hours (I think). In the meantime I'll be at work all night! Should be a slow shift though so I'm bringing my DS and I'm gonna try and catch a Timid natured Darkrai. And of course be obsessively checking serebii/this thread to see if anything breaks

I don't have my DS at college, Diamond would be really nice right now with nothing to do because of the snow. I haven't bought a DS game in 2 years.

Japan time in an hour? Sounds fun. You know, if there are going to be multiple people posting on this forum while watching a crazy Japanese variety show, you might as well get drunk while doing so. How about a pokemon drinking game, like taking a drink every time someone says "Pikachu"?

Would Masuda be on the program for any other reason than to unveil something about the new games?

I don't expect all that much to be revealed -- maybe just the name/logo -- but some news is definitely coming today.

I expect the "big reveal" to be in Coro Coro, though.

I know. I'm just trying to trick myself into keeping my expectations low :lol. I just can't wait for the "pokemon designs have sucked since gen II" argument after they show off the first gen V poke.

Where's that popcorn gif. when you need it?

Edit: One a serious note, i'm anxious to see what they have done to consider these games an "innovative rebirth". Would anyone really buy the games if is was basically gen IV with new pokemon/new region? I have to say that i wouldn't. That's not a sequel;that's an expansion. Like Masuda i want these games to "surpass every pokemon game before it". But that's gonna take more than just new pokemon.
 
All I NEED announced is the name, logo, and at least one new Pokémon species to tide me over. I wish they'd make a dojo-like website where they'd announce a new Pokémon every week.

The first half hour of Pokemon Sunday is useless since they show an old Pokemon episode. So basically there is one hour left until actual news start appearing.

There might be a Pokemon anime rerun before Pokemon Sunday, not sure...
