President Obama told Congressional leaders to reach a final agreement on a path to raise the debt limit in the next 24-36 hours or...he'll call another meeting at the White House.
A Republican aide described today's nearly two hour gathering as "composed and polite" -- probably because, according to a Democratic aide, unlike on Wednesday evening Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) didn't pipe up once.
Democrats and Republicans will now brief their caucuses on potential spending cuts and figure out whether the cuts they've identified are workable, or whether they have to resort to Mitch McConnell's Plan Z. According to a Democratic official familiar with the talks, while the president "appreciates Senators Reid and McConnell trying to solve the immediate problem," in his eyes it "remains a fallback option." We'll find out more when President Obama briefs the media about progress tomorrow.

That's okay. You're unaware of the history. Just like you, BS joined the happy PoliGAF family like a belligerent asshole, and like you, I made an effort to treat him seriously and with respect. When I concluded that he had a real problem in understanding the impression he was making, I told him as politely as I could, and then stopped responding to him, because it made me uncomfortable beating on someone who clearly didn't comprehend how he was coming across. I warned him his behavior would likely garner him a ban, which it did.Bulbo Urethral Baggins said:I'm sorry, but that comment seems beneath you. You've disappointed me.

I find BigSicily's "why u so stupid?" posts amusing, because his verbose screeds are always riddled with grammatical errors.BigSicily said:2002 were historic gains, for many reasons, but it was a component. 2003 saw statistically significant gains in local elections Alex Gage worked on and confirmed it. 2004 saw wide-scale implementation of it to great effect, the democrats got on-board with similar efforts afterwards and it's now more common place.
To diminish the history is to just prove your ignorance. It's really a shame that instead of just not commenting if you: (a) know nothing of which you speak, (b) have nothing to add, you feel you must put down the comment with the limited capacity you have.
In your spare time, instead of the internet porn addition, you should read up on Rove and Gage... it's a neat history.

I'm seriously asking.
(also, did he? and what sector? just out of curiosity).
Good for you.
Seriously.
I think almost all workers should enjoy better working conditions, even those I disagree with politically.
p.s.
How much of a killer tan are we talking about?

I have multiple relatives on the spectrum, and my reaction to most of his posts is keen embarrassment on his behalf. My nephew, a brilliant kid, is the same way. He's just not capable of modeling the emotional reactions of others, which causes his posts, like BS's to be full of unwarranted braggadocio, personal attacks, and complaints about how other people react to what he's said.
You, on the other hand, clearly understand the likely responses to each of your posts, as you take joy in poking people in the eye, which I can totally agree with. Do it all the time, myself. And neither of us gets upset or frustrated when people respond poorly, because thats what we wanted and expected. BigSicily is a totally different beast.

Thanks for your replies. I must admit that I'm not really upset about getting a pay freeze. I often feel guilty for the pay I do get in these tough times. I think federal salaries have far exceeded the private sector. I just think there is some hypocrisy in Obama's handling/viewpoint of unionized public workers vs non-unionized public workers. 2. FDR opposed public-sector unions. FALSE...
LETTER TEXT
FDR did not ask them to disband, he did not tell them to stop bargaining, he did not revoke their right to bargain. Instead, FDR celebrated the success of the federal employees' union, and encouraged them to continue in their civil, moderated behavior. So shut up.

On the theoretical level, yes, I agree, we are all the employers of federal workers, and what's more fair than all of us deciding on this, right?
So I've been meaning to ask, where do you stand on the Mine Safety and Health retirement compensation levels?
It's a practical call through and through.
