Yea. Even a post from Diablos with the latest Gallup poll to fret over would have been more enlightening.

GOP Mystery Guest:

Oh god .. I just had this vision of them doing to Reagan what they did to Tupac.

It would be so creepy, sad, embarrassing that I am wishing for it to happen.

Reagan, then followed by Lincoln talking about how the Democrats fought to keep slavery intact, just like they are now with SOCIALISM and government programs.

Then, by voice vote, the delegates nominate hologram Reagan as their candidate.

A picture of a guy with what looks like a broken leg in a wheelchair isn't the best reference to use in this context.
Do we really need a reference picture to know that Charlie Weis is fat?
Do you need pictures to tell you that Belichick is cheating asshole?

Oh please yes.

I thought it was going to be a rescheduled Trump personally. I can't think of any former Dems they could be bringing in, they're already scraping the bottom of the barrel with Artur Davis.

Great. Now if it's not this, I'm going to be SO disappointed.

Isn't there something about the Google fifteen? I'm not saying obese, just meaty.

I'm surrounded by four programmers at the moment: one is a Vanderbilt graduate who takes his weight-lifting more seriously than work, two are skinny cross country runners, and another was a college soccer player.

I'm the least fit out of them all...not a hard thing to accomplish, mind you.

Tough to focus on fitness what with the listening parties and everything.

I forgot about Rex Ryan. That dude is bigtime fat.

Actually, he's slimmed down.

If Rex Ryan can lose weight, so can Christie.

In an area where Obama's policy has been appropriate, the State Department's efforts to alleviate political restrictions in Burma are proving fruitful. The government has reduced its blacklist by over a third. That may seem insignificant, but it's a fairly substantial achievement given it's Burma. Not that Burma's faultless, the situation in Rakhine is troubling, but you have to start somewhere.
Probably a good guess.

Speaking of auditioning for 2016, who do you guys think will be doing that at the DNC? Their list of speakers:

My guesses are Booker, Castro, Emanuel, and O'Malley. Outside of the super well-known people, I'm not very familiar with a lot of the governors speaking. It's kind of strange that most of the people in the future democrat presidential talks are mayors. Are there any democratic congressmen that would potentially be in the conversation? If there were, I'd imagine they'd be speaking.
Of the four you listed, only O'malley's a serious contender. And I think he'll be a formidable aspirant. From what I understand, Emanuel's a fairly divisive figure. And the other two are mayors. With the exception of the mayor of NYC, who always seems to gain a certain cachet, mayors simply aren't prominent enough in their party.

Well there is this whole issue of the possibility that the entire Romney family is on stage, confetti raining down, as half-hearted, skeptical applause meets Mitt's half-cocked, Ward Cleaver aww-shucks smile while New Orleans drowns again. There's that.

We won't drown this time, but this storm will still provide imagery exciting enough to divide America's attention and force a contrast in tone. I'm imagining the split-screen situation that we'd see. Not very flattering to the GOP. What a pity. :)

All those for-profits are dirtbags. Especially with the amount of online classes you can take at your local community college or university. That excuse for going there is pretty much gone.

Oh look. A conservative, anti-Obama circlejerk movie isn't based on all facts. Who would have thunk it?

FACT CHECK: Anti-Obama film muddy on facts

The assertion that Obama's presidency is an expression of his father's political beliefs, which D'Souza first made in 2010 in his book "The Roots of Obama's Rage," is almost entirely subjective and a logical stretch at best.

D'Souza interviews Paul Vitz, a New York University psychologist who has studied the impact of absent fathers on children. In Obama's case, Vitz says, the abandonment meant "he has the tension between the Americanism and his Africanism. He himself is an intersection of major political forces in his own psychology."

From there, the evidence D'Souza uses to support his assertion starts to grow thin.

In Hawaii, D'Souza asserts with no evidence, Obama sympathized with native Hawaiians who felt they had been marginalized by the American government when Hawaii was becoming a state. D'Souza also asserts — again with no evidence — that Obama had been coached to hold those views at Punahou, the prestigious prep school he attended in Honolulu.

D'Souza wrongly claims that Obama wants to return control of the Falkland Islands from Britain to Argentina. The U.S. refused in April to endorse a final declaration on Argentina's claim to the islands at the Summit of the Americas, provoking criticism from other Latin American nations.

And it goes on and on and on...

Computer programmers? Fat? I can tell you that the majority that I've met and worked with -- as a software engineer, consultant -- are pretty fit folks.

Edit: I pondered this just now and I've worked at some of the largest companies in the world and worked with dozens of teams and cannot recall a single developer that was obese or extremely overweight.

I can hook you up bro.

As someone that graduated from one, "dirtbags" is the nicest thing you can possibly say about them.

Yeah, this is gonna be an ugly election.

They seem to have decided that they only way they can win is with a massive % of the white vote because they can't get minorities. It is probably not going to work. And as the TRMS pointed out, this is probably the last time anyone tries this strategy because the demographics just won't make it a viable option in the future.
