My voter registration was mangled so badly when I lived in Wake County that my middle name was, for a brief time, LAWLS (instead of Lewis). No joke.

Hey guys I am finally going to donate to the campaign. I thought about buying some bumper stickers but looking at how divisive this has gotten I am afraid to put it on my car. I really want to show my support but lets just say I live in the outskirts of Houston. Man this sucks that I actually kinda fear this.

buy a bumper sticker, put it on a laptop carrying case, backback, or other suitable thing.

I accidentally clicked on the Canadian political thread, thought I was in this PoliGAF thread, and got so confused as to what the fuck people were talking about.

My question is, why the hell did it take so long, and why is nobody speaking on his behalf? It seems like the guy knows tons of people.. you'd think some would choose to come out of the woodwork and defend him, state theyre friends with him, only to speak to how ridiculous the attacks of the McCain camp are. It would really soften the blows if people came out and spoke- would they all be accused of palling with a terrorist?

Oh, and you do know that Bill Ayers was Chicago's 1997 Man of the Year, right? People can change, or so they told me when I first started going to church and was asking about being saved. But some folks don't subscribe to that particular theory.

Anyone watching Morning Joe? Joe seems really on edge this morning, especially about Obama outspending McCain. Pretty hysterical.
 
The irony is he complains about the "Liberal Manhattan" media, but he completely ignores FoxNews and Conservative Radio, which have a HUGE reach. I don't hear him complaining about fairness from those outlets. He's basically having a tantrum about newspaper op-eds.

Why can't these old civil rights activist keep their mouths shut. Just put a lid on it for 3 more weeks. Their dream is almost realized, so they should stop trying to make headlines for themselves.

Sadly, I think quite a few older black social leaders are jealous towards Obama. Like Bill, they view Obama as a newcomer who hasn't paid his dues. But it is similar to the Republican attacks on Ayers; so many people are stuck in the past they don't realize the country has moved on from that shit.

Obama will win most of those states but don't expect numbers like that, Obama has been pushing early voting FAAAAAR more than McCain.

It's not hard to envision how this may play out: McCain will raise Ayers in that awkward, semi-comic manner of his, as if he's not really sure it's something he wants to be bringing up. (Possibly moderator Bob Shieffer will bring it up for him, which would help, but I suspect any comment he makes will still sound uncomfortable.) The real-time viewer response needles will nosedive, as they have almost every time McCain has attacked in the debates so far.

Obama will very reasonably respond that it's a distant association, that he was 8 years old when Ayers committed his crimes, that he deplores said crimes, etc., etc. Then he'll turn it around on McCain, pointing out that it is all very old news, and the McCain campaign didn't think it was worth discussing until it found itself in a deep electoral hole. He'll accuse McCain of trying to "change the subject" and will cite the top McCain strategist who idiotically told the Daily News, "If we keep talking about the economic crisis we'll lose." Anyone who thinks such an exchange is a win for McCain should contact me immediately, as I have a lucrative opportunity in the housing market I'd like to discuss with you.

If I were a betting man, i'd guess that Bob Schieffer has more important topics to bring-up than this. If McCain brings this up on his own, un-prompted by a question, he's going to come out of any exchange looking like an ass.

Okay.. I think for the first time in a while, I saw Chuck Todd move the magic magnets of Colorado and Florida over to Obama's column for just a split second!

He was discussing a best-case scenario for McCain in which all of the swing-states-according-to-NBC fell to McCain, and said that McCain's ceiling was 274.. but that it was near-impossible for things to fall that way. Joe looked grim; you could read his face like a book.

It was nice seeing that blue number go past 264, if only for a moment.. :lol

Political Wire got an advance look at a new survey from Datamar in Florida that shows Sen. Barack Obama leading Sen. John McCain, 47% to 42%.

The survey has a margin of error of +/- 2.7%.

Key factor: 63% of those surveyed see the economy as the most important issue today.

Dunno if anyone's heard about it, but Charles Barkley was on Larry King last night doing political commentary and he said he bought a house in Alabama and is going to live there 7 years so he can run for governor in 2014. Barkley as Alabama governor in 2014...that would blow my mind lol.

The CBS anchor uh... Harry Smith actually went down to the retarded jigsaw puzzle they use and totally layed the smack down on the woman doing the upkeeping. He threw Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan into Blue while laughing that they were ever "contested", then waltzed over to Colorado and threw down the puzzle piece. He winked at the camera and asked if Colorado being blue might influence New Mexico or Nevada. The poor lady just stammered there as he started dancing over Pennsylvania.

Harry Smith has bigger balls than Chuck Todd.
