The media (besides Faux News) will not let the Republicans get away with this crap. Not this year...

Why the hell did McCain go back on the show? What an ambush but I'm glad someone has the balls to call him on his hypocrisy :lol

New media narrative for the weekend :p

And no way does Palin come with ten miles of the Late Show.

Yeah, he would be relentless, and I doubt she could handle it. I could actually see her walking off.

Wow, as clever as M$.

Wow, now this is an interview. Once again, our late night "comedy" teevee shows doing the legwork for the media. Amazing.
Yeah, Daily Show, Colbert Report and Dave. Leno doesn't get to be in the club.:lol

You're really overselling what happened.

Uh...actually thats pretty much what happened. He was looking up with his mouth open going "uhhhhh". Letterman laughed, McCain did an uncomfortable laugh and they went to break.

I actually thought McCain looked a little confused like he was trying to remember whether or not he had gone to a fudraiser at his house. Then Dave had them go to commercial.

Hey guys I was just watching this baseball game where the red team that usually always wins was down by a whole bunch, and everyone on the blue team was celebrating, but late in the contest those damn guys over on the red side made a storming comeback and won the elec... I mean game.........

I'm really bitter right now, don't mind me.

Dave gave McCain an out regarding Ayers. He gave him an out. McCain had a chance to finally, once and for all, stop implying there's something more to the Ayers relationship. At the debate, Obama said all that needed to be said about it. He threw it all back into McCain's face and it stuck. Before the debate, there was still room for McCain to squirm. Not any more.

And Dave is getting pissed...

G. Gordon Liddy is American hero, damn it! The Creep Squad? In prison with Chuck Colson? The infamous "aim for the head because they'll be wearing vests" comment? It really doesn't get much more entertaining. :lol

I cannot wait for this interview to be up on Youtube. :D

Eh...not that crazy, but I hope Liddy gets in the news cycle because of this.

...and it cuts to a new Obama commercial after it's all said and done :lol

Obama is Mushihime-sama? First a secret Muslim, now an insect princess.

Mine cut to the RNC "Obama gives pork to his shady friends, McCain will stop that!" commercial:(

Uh oh! A late night tv host getting mad and a cryptic and threatening use of an ellipsis mark.

It's pretty obvious that if Letterman had the opportunity, he would have annihilated McCain here. So why the stick up your ass?

Because your comments are painfully corny.

OMG, I really don't believe what's happening here :lol :lol :lol

Did he just ask him "Why did Palin say terrorists?"

"Millions of words are said during a campaign! You should hear what the fringe say at Obama rallies about me! Am I going to follow that up and tell you what they say? Well, no, I'm not. Why hasn't Obama repudiated those awful things those people he doesn't know said about me?!"

I'm sorry, but McCain is a little brat. His running mate can say Obama "pals around with terrorists" and he claims it is justified, but he won't get off Obama's nads until he repudiates things said by those who aren't even affiliated with his campaign.

I didn't think Dave was that hard on McCain, we're just so used to interviews being done so easy, that when we see something like this it's a shock. McCain looked charming and funny, but he needs to stop with the Ayers crap, I've never seen someone stick so hard to a strategy that isn't working.

Chiggs said:
Sure, can they do it to Obama too?
...do you really think there is anything at all to talk about as far as Obama is concerned? What single issue or association of Obama's has not been beat to death?

McCain's adulterous affair with his first wife and Liddy are just two things that if the media talked about in the same vein as Wright or Ayers...McCain would be fucked.

Fucked.

Letterman was getting pissed, though. It's obvious to anyone who was just watching. And it was equally obvious that the interview was going to get nasty if Dave had the opportunity to really lean into McCain. Quite frankly, you're making a much bigger deal out of this than is necessary. Big whoop, I used an ellipsis. Who the fuck cares?

No, they're both really about as effective as Ayers and Wright. Slightly damaging, but not a dealbreaker. Obama's survived all right, so would McCain.

YEAH, GET HIM DAVE! DOING THE MEDIA'S JOB! GET HIM DAVE, YEAH! GET HIM!

It's fucking embarassing.

Holier than thou. You're corny. And embarrassing. Your probably slept through the first 12+ months of the elections, too.
