Is tonight's SNL debate skit up yet?
Get that shit out of here......worldrunover said:Hey guys I was just watching this baseball game where the red team that usually always wins was down by a whole bunch, and everyone on the blue team was celebrating, but late in the contest those damn guys over on the red side made a storming comeback and won the elec... I mean game.........
I'm really bitter right now, don't mind me.
Incognito said:Holier than thou. You're corny. And embarrassing. Your probably slept through the first 12+ months of the elections, too.
Why?Chiggs said:YEAH, GET HIM DAVE! DOING THE MEDIA'S JOB! GET HIM DAVE, YEAH! GET HIM!
It's fucking embarassing.

http://dagblog.com/humor-satire/mcc...-presidential-debate-lifesize-cardboard-obamaIn a Manhattan conference room this afternoon, Senator John McCain (R.-Ariz.) conducted and lost a hastily arranged rematch of last night's Presidential debate, this time to a cardboard cutout of the Democratic Presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama (D.-Ill.). According to CNN snap polls following this impromptu affair, McCain turned in more respectable numbers, losing by a narrow 50-45 margin to the cardboard image of the actual man who had trounced him in a debate just the night before, 58-31.
The cardboard Obama was a life-size image of the junior Senator from Illinois purchased by McCain handlers for $40 at Nick's, a Fifth Avenue souvenir shop. Cardboard Obama depicts Barack Obama smiling and holding his glasses at his waist, and was placed behind the table at which McCain sat for the free-form, unmoderated debate.
...and are you equally outraged that no one is talking about it...at all?Chiggs said:Yes. That's an altogether bigger can of worms right there.
I don't think he actually has a problem with the interview, just the orgasmic reactions to it on here, lol.Evlar said:Why?
McCain thinks Ayers is important. Why not ask him to tell us why it's so important, and why it's so dissimilar to McCain associating with various and sundry people with criminal pasts?
And sure. I think Obama should be asked about why he thinks Keating is pertinent.

I would like to see Obama talk more about his push for Science and technology as well as his plans to address Autism.RubxQub said:...do you really think there is anything at all to talk about as far as Obama is concerned? What single issue or association of Obama's has not been beat to death?
McCain's adulterous affair with his first wife and Liddy are just two things that if the media talked about in the same vein as Wright or Ayers...McCain would be fucked.
Fucked.
Chiggs said:Okay, I'm fine with that.
GET HIM, BILL! DON'T LET HIM OFF THE HOOK!
He keeps repeating the notion that both candidates are on equal moral ground in this mudslinging contest and therefore deserve equal treatment by the press (and, for some reason, the never-intended-to-be-unbiased GAF). Maybe it's self-evident to him but to me it's ridiculous. Literally.SoulPlaya said:I don't think he actually has a problem with the interview, just the orgasmic reactions to it on here, lol.
bafflewaffle said:The Letterman interview was the craziest shit since Crispin Glover.
The Blue Jihad said:If I were you, I'd probably be tying a shower cord around my neck right about now. Not that I'm suggesting you commit suicide or anything. But it is indeed an option for you. Never forget!
Fair enough. I just think it's slightly justified when Obama supporters get excited when someone finally hits McCain with the same sleaze that gets thrown at Obama all the time.Chiggs said:Uh, I've pretty much changed my entire stance on this campaign ever since the bottom fell out. I'm a registered Republican ready to do the unthinkable on the 4th.
Chiggs said:Ha! Nice reference. You're still corny.
Again I understand this. I myself got my parents to register as voters. I just find the more personal stuff on poligaf to be disturbing.Clevinger said:Yeah, it's horrible how for the first time in their lives young people are actually excited about and inspired by who they're voting for. I mean, what the fuck?
Saint Gregory said:I remember an interview that Dave did with John Travolta that was almost as weird. Travolta was completely incoherent like he was high on something and Dave had to wing through the entire segment. Youtube doesn't seem to have it but I know it's out there somewhere.
The Blue Jihad said:Uh, thanks but what reference? I'm being serious. People like you end up offing themselves. There's no corn here.
You know what's creepy? People who worship Chuck Todd...miyamotofreak said:Again I understand this. I myself got my parents to register as voters. I just find the more personal stuff on poligaf to be disturbing.
And to those referencing my name, if you check my non-OT posts there is no level of Miyamoto worship equivalent to most of this. And to the guy talking about personal insecurities, look at my damn avatar. And I'm not even gay.

Dartastic said:Everyone should watch the speeches that Obama and McCain made tonight at the charity dinner they went to. It's good, lighthearted fun from both candidates, and it really helps ease the tension a bit. Check them out.

Saint Gregory said:Thank Obama someone finally said it.
And no one had better change my quote to "Thank Todd" with "Fixed" or else they're gonna get it.

Thanks for the reply, I guess it just seemed really odd to me specifically in the area of politics.Stoney Mason said:Why do consoles wars exist? Why are there whole websites dedicated to liberal and conservative causes? Because it matters to people.
Is GAF overboard on Obama? Yes. Is GAF overboard on generally everything? Yes. Not saying you can't criticize it but get in line among the 50 other unique signature positions that GAF fellates itself to. It's an election year. People are going to be overly passionate.
Why should Poli-GAF be any different than any segment of the entire forum...
Honestly, and this goes for Cheebs too, but the issue with all of the "You people are over the top" or "You guys worship Obama" isn't that there's anything inherently wrong with the thought, it's that the argument is completely nonspecific. If there truly is such a wealth of disturbing, worshipful comments, then it shouldn't be hard to identify the over the top ones and call people out of them, rather then speak in generalities. This has three benefits 1) It makes your argument stronger by providing evidence. 2) If posts truly are over the top, it may shame them into changing their behavior. 3) The parties criticized have the opportunity to defend specific criticized behavior if they feel it justified.miyamotofreak said:Again I understand this. Trurl said:Since we're on the topic, will GAF's feelings towards Obama chance once he is president?
I'm not suggesting "lol, you guys will be so dissapointed in Obama becuse I understand things you don't." I just mean will GAF still gush about him when he's in power? It might just be my personality but I think that all I could ever give a sitting president is cautious approval. This level of adoration is better suited for historical figures and people not in charge of us (Miyamoto), imo.
Dude, the guy cancelled his appearance on letterman to fix the economy, and during letterman, he was doing an interview with Katie Couric basically right across the hall in the next studio.Saint Gregory said:Yeah, I wasn't expecting Dave to come at him this hard. They are not going to be cool after this. And no way does Palin come with ten mles of the Late Show.
Gruco said:Sorry if I'm on a soapbox here, but this is an internet-wide per peeve of mine.
You make great points. A lot of the time I speak in generalities on purpose to avoid feeling like a dick who is picking on one person, but it seems like you're right.Gruco said:If there truly is such a wealth of disturbing, worshipful comments, then it shouldn't be hard to identify the over the top ones and call people out of them, rather then speak in generalities.
