Kristen Wiig as Crazy McCain Rally Lady on SNL. I'm really warming up to her (Ms Wiig, that is.)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/1..._n_135463.html

I actually find it worrying that McCains response to that is 'no maam, he is not. He's a decent family man who I happen to disagree on some fundamental issues with'

I'm no expert, but I heard I HEARD that there is the occasional arab, in amongst all the terrorists and freedom haters, that occasionally cares about his family (probably only during ramadan)

then he gets applause for being all I dunno. Nice? Smells like ignorance. should have been 'first off, there's nothing wrong with arabs, second of all, Obama isn't one'

But he doesn't need one - he's covered by his employer's plumbing license. If he sets up in business on his own, then sure, he'll need one.

His employer also does not have a license in Lucas County.

I think he was probably rapidly calculating in his head how much he could get away with with the crowd. He knew he had to walk it back a bit from the extreme, but he was probably too scared to try to convince everyone that "Ay-rabs" can be nice people too, even though Obama wasn't one. It's telling of how much he really believes in the decency of the people who come to his rallies, despite his claim at the debate.

Crazy lady is the best thing to happen to Obama because it showed how the hate level/fear has risen to a new level and how crazy their campaign is. After that lady spoke MSM was finally catching on to how bad things were getting. Even conservatives were like, this shit has gone too far.

I honestly though McCain was relating to the terrorist part, but I don't know

That is true enough. When the Bushitler crown started popping up at events before the election in 04 it was as serious blow to Kerry.

Same goes for "Joe the Plumber"...in just 24 hours, we find out he doesn't have a license, owes back taxes, he's a registered Republican, and was registered with the Natural Law Party....not that there is anything particularly wrong with any of these things but it just adds to the narrative of a fringe electorate.

I just had a dream about Obama last night. Some redneck guy punches Obama while hes getting into his limo, Obama stumbled, gets up and lays the guy out in one punch. Everyone cheers and Obama does Rocky victory thing.

wtf. White guy = McCain? Did I just see the future?

It's disturbing that "arab" is inexplicably linked with "terrorist" in the first place. It was practically synonymous in that tidbit.

Man, this is awesome that MLB is delaying World Series Game 6 by 15 minutes just so Fox can join NBC and CBS in offering the Obama 30 minutes. Hopefully people will tune in for the game, unaware of any delay, be like "WTF" for a few seconds, and decide to keep it on anyway until the game starts.

So today's polls

Rasmussen (Even)
Hotline (+1 Obama)
GWU (+1 McCain -1 Obama)
DailyKos/R2k (+1 McCain)
Zogby (-1 Obama)

PROOF: McCain is actually moving up for the 4th straight day, this is not statistical noise anymore

Well, then, time to invest in VICTORY! I was saving money to buy a house, but it seems that McCain is a lock now. 10 Gs on McCain to win.

Two Words: New Hampshire.
Two More Words: "I heard he wants to turn the White House into a pyramid."

oh SHIT at the tracking polls

what the hell is going on?

That's not "proof". It is certainly tighter than a while ago, but that's all you can with any confidence say
It's real movement now.

Ras from +8 to +4
Gallup from +11 to +6
Today's daily sample for Kos was only +6 - their lowest so far

Obama's lead has been halved in about a week.

The thing is, he was never ahead by +11% or +8%. Those were just statistical noise and now it appears Mccain may have gained slightly but that's all.

what more do u want. every national poll is either having obama going down or mccain going up since friday last week.

The race is probably tightening artredis1980 but still hasn't tightened to a degree that is overly worrisome although with the weekend coming up there is a chance for it to tighten more of course. People just kind of get wore down by the Chicken little thing around here which to be fair, you are often one of the main motivators of. That being said I always thought it would tighten. We'll have to see where things are in one week versus daily "oh my goding" the polls.

It's not "statistical noise" when all of the major trackers are in the same range for two weeks, and then they all fall by half in a few days. That is movement.

And expressing concern isn't panicking, it's wondering what is going on. That's a serious swing in just a few days.

What is wrong with you people? It's a party when the polls rise, but mentioning a bad trend gets shit like this?

They only "fell by half" if you think the high points weren't noise, when they quite clearly were. The average lead has not moved by much.

Lots of us always made fun of the people who masturbated to the polls and especially to 538 Pac Man graphs. No one who has ever been through a political cycle before thinks Obama has a 94.7 percent chance of winning the election.

Just think about what would happen if they Quayle'd Bidens "three letter word"

Or Quayle'd all the crazy shit John McCain says...

An easily understandable gaffe is better than "crazy shit" that you have to explain.

Although, I really want to see some ads that just use the McCain .gifs!

Yea, you chicken littles are grating. Worry when the lead is gone. A 50-48 victory is still a victory.

well that's all well and good but what if you haven't taken the money line....
