Last post directed at you. You're an idiot. I've dealt with you before and made a mental note before dealing with you to keep that in mind. Just warning others. Don't deal with idiots. On that note you can carry on with the gimmick about now voting for Nader and your rage at phonecalls. You've only got two more days with it. I've done my job and I'm cool now.

I say he would fall in the attention seekers/stupid section for sure.

I'm concerned the sun won't rise on election day.
I'm seriously worried about Illinois, hopping in my car to volunteer there right now, to try to slavage this election...

I was taking a nap and woke up to a phone call from an Obama volunteer. First political call of any kind I've ever received, asking me to make 25 calls between now and election day. Apparently, I'd marked myself as willing to volunteer at one point; now I feel like I have to. They definitely have an impressive system.

No, that's hypnotism you're referring to.

The concern troll posts in web forums devoted to its declared point of view and attempts to sway the group's actions or opinions while claiming to share their goals, but with professed "concerns". The goal is to sow fear, uncertainty and doubt within the group.[13]

For example, in 2006 Tad Furtado, a top staffer for then-Congressman Charlie Bass (R-NH), was caught posing as a "concerned" supporter of Bass's opponent, Democrat Paul Hodes, on several liberal New Hampshire blogs, using the pseudonyms "IndieNH" or "IndyNH." "IndyNH" expressed concern that Democrats might just be wasting their time or money on Hodes, because Bass was unbeatable.

We're probably not big enough to have professional concern trolls. Ours are likely homegrown.

Seriously things were MUCH different when Obama was facing off against Hillary - even though I volunteered for him back then, you could tell we were going to lose. The energy was there, but it wasn't reciprocated at the door-to-door level.

Now? Fuck even in this traditionally red part of the state, I see Obama signs. People greet the doors ready to talk politics, and infinitely more say affirmative to the Obama vote. Even people who say they will support McCain don't seem particularly enthusiastic about it... they're just all "yeah I guess I'm going to go McCain."

I mean I am riding around, and the GOP here don't know what the fuck is going on. Their ground game has to be epically shitty. I see a giant SARAH! sign by Wal-Mart, but McCain is in tiny little letters beneath it.

The message is warped, Republicans are positively depressed around here. I hear it at the Tobyhanna Army Depot... many have resorted to simply saying "Well Obama isn't going to deliver what he promises", as if the mantra can implode the candidate!

PENNSYLVANIA is 100% fucking Obama territory now. If he loses, I -promise- I won't post on GAF for a week.

ESPN told me this.

So what does John Kerry do now? By how he looks on MTP, I can only guess mattress salesman.

To be fair, he does have much more fire than he did in all of 2004.

If Obama loses the election, ban me for a week. Not because I'm sure of anything. I just won't feel like posting.

Just a week...that seems a little light. Show your confidence. Lets hear a month.

EDIT: I'll Pledge 6 months if he loses the election. I won't post here for 6 months. (I'm not a prolific poster but still.)

I'm in PA. Got a million calls today from Obama, some from McCain.

If a call is enough to alter your vote in the negative when policy issues such as health care, the war in Iraq and energy are on the table... then...

...this is one of the cases where the label "idiot" might actually apply, and not be an insult. It might simply just be the correct label for a person who would reject the issues of the day for phonecall annoyances.
I'm not the idiot running a retarded campaign machine who do not know how to take people off their calling lists. And it is not just been a small amount of "phone calls annoyances" as you put it, it has been door to door visits as well. And it has not just been over this weekend, it has been a culmination over the past month where it has come to the point of being unbearable and I have to resort to screening my phone calls. If someone cannot control their own campaign groups and stop bombarding people with phone calls and visits when someone tells you on multiple occasions to stop it and they are a member of the damn party already, it makes you question how are they going to manage the country.

Kerry definitely never did this back in '04.

Watching Kerry on Meet the Press right now, and it is just miraculous how much better Obama's surrogates have been this election. They are just on point, concise, and provide actual solutions to ISSUES instead of idiotic rhetoric.

New Map:

*domino's map*

Obama is running away with it!

I think this map is actually somewhat accurate for the demographics. Remember that younger people are much more likely to order pizza than old. This map shows why the Republican party is going to have to retool/redesign themselves over the next 4-8 years. Really the only way I can see the GOP being successful in the next generation is to ditch the neo-cons.

I think we're going to see a party that is much more socially tolerant, and perhaps even fiscally conservative again. I think we're going to see a moderate version of Goldwater Republicans.

Or maybe a party that is pretty much Democratic on policy, but culturally distinct.

And that's why he lost the election, you moron.

If you don't want people calling you, AS A REGISTERED VOTER, then DO NOT REGISTER TO VOTE.

...And he lost, which explains the more agressive strategy.

Seriously, getting a lot of calls sucks, but grow the fuck up. You're acting like a baby. If you can't deal with the big responsibility of answering the phone, then ask your mommy to do it for you, or unplug the phone until after you cast your vote for Nader on November 5th. It's not really that complicated.

And stop bitching about it to us, we've got no control over the matter, and I'm not particularly interested in constantly hearing about your irresponsible methods for making important decisions.

Kerry lost.

Local campaign offices are completely running on their own. It's not like Barack Obama personally checks in with every single campaign office to ensure they are adhering to his standards.

If you get another campaign call or visit, ask to be removed, but also ask for the contact information of their Field Organizer. Ensure them you are voting for Barack Obama, but you would like to be removed from their campaign rolls.

They shouldn't have any trouble giving this to you (as it's readily available through the campaign's website), and everyone should be happy. You're voting for who they want, and you're all but guaranteed to be taken off their rolls by going through the Field Organizer for the region.

No, it's based on variables...the 'Skins don't always have to win or lose.

But supposedly, the way the game prior to the election involving the 'Skins turns out, has corrected predicted the outcome 17 times.

"There is no other reason for John McCain and Sarah Palin to be in the state based on what the polls say, except that they’re counting on us to be bigots," said former Scranton Mayor James McNulty, a Democrat. "Why else are they here? They’re counting on Pennsylvania not voting for a black man.".

You can always trust Jimmy McNulty to tell it like it is

No, we already established what idiot you are - the one who throws all the important issues of the day overboard because you get too many phonecalls!

I think I know which idiot is worse ;)

Good to hear, calling and visits are often independent of one another as each have varying impacts person-to-person. For example, someone who may reject phonecalls may be more willing to have a direct conversation with someone who knocks on the door. This is called smart campaigning, and it is meant to weed out whatever remaining undecideds there are and find a line of communication.

Someone's overwhelming mobilization of people makes you question - in the negative - how they're going to run the country? Well ok!

Right because Kerry's campaign was incompetent.

Kerry was meh as a candidate but awesome as a surrogate. He puts many of the other surrogates from either party to shame.
The DNC kept him on a very tight leash, and ran a very "safe" campaign for him. He broke away from the leash (but not the "Ohio or bust" strategy) they'd given him in the final week, but by then it was too late.

I always admired Kerry.

The rule is supposed to be that whether the Redskins win or lose determines if the incumbent party wins or loses (i.e. Redskins win = incumbent win). The Redskins lost in 2004, which meant Bush should have lost. He did not.

Also, it was 17-0 going into 2004. :lol
