Networks should take the attitude; if they want to stonewall us, we'll give the public the palin news they want... starting with troopergate!

It's amazing how they are keeping Palin so isolated from the media; I can't wait to see what they'll pull for the VP debate. Maybe she'll break her ankle the morning of the debate, and have to do it via satellite so her handlers can feed her answers. :lol

OpEdNews is hardly a conservative news outlet. It's a liberal blog aggregation site. The article is a comedic blog from steveyoungonpolitics.com.

The diverse liberal banner advertising all around the article might have been a tip-off for you.

Not giving her camera time is exactly what the McCain camp wants. Less gaffes, less reminder of how incapable she is, less reminder on what a ridiculous pick she was. By doing this, they're playing right into their hands.

Not really, because the actual story is that they are scared to let her talk. That makes her look worse.

I know I'm in a minority around here in saying this, but the Obama campaign this week has been utterly pathetic.

Talk about a massive botched opportunity.

He's not stumping today, he's doing a press conference. Making a statement now, then over to questions.

You know, those things McCain and Palin are running from.

Yep. Obama's just not going to win this by a substantial margin, no matter what fate befalls Republicans in the news.

It's going to be a nail-biter, so get your ulcer medication now.

Seriously, they keep bashing Obama for not having a "plan" but he's actually taking tough questions when McCain and even Bush won't :lol

Wait a minute.

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Just how big is the proposed Wall Street bailout? Let's look at how it compares to some other numbers...

-- $700 billion: proposed Wall St. bailout
-- $580 billion: cost of Iraq war (so far)
-- $50-$65 billion: Obama's health care plan, per year

WTF!

And people are bitching about Obama being a tax and spend asshole? What the hell?

In ten years, Obama's healthcare plan would cost as much as the Iraq war did 5 years in. Fuck this shit.

And then 2 days later it's, "Obama isn't specific enough. He's always talking about change, but why doesn't he explain in detail what he means?"

When I was at the gym earlier today I saw McCain on some show displaying his "grilling and BBQ" techniques. Not doing interviews is the Maverick way.

fivethirtyeight's series "On the Road" have been quite revealing. They are focused on examining the ground game of each campaign in key areas of each state. The one on Colorado today and Nevada yesterday were especially eye-opening. Essentially, Obama has spread the state, and is contesting even deep-red counties to prevent McCain from racking up the kind of margins there that cost Kerry and Gore.

He's lived here 15 years and hasn't seen any Democratic presence like this one. He told us a friend of his had been here 30 years but had never seen s Democratic presidential office in Colorado Springs.

Steve Meyer, a retired Air Force Major and former political science professor who taught for 10 years at the Academy and specialized in electoral politics, told us that Obama's presence compared to past Democratic presidential campaigns was "night and day."

What we learned today was that John McCain does indeed have a ground game presence in Colorado, with large phone banks every weeknight. Their 11 offices are mostly situated on the Front Range, but they phone bank into the entire state from their volunteer strongholds. And as we've seen elsewhere along our journey, Barack Obama is doing unprecedented work on his Colorado ground game, even in hostile territory.

EXACTLY!!!!

And remember that it might also help the competitive nature of the country since we regularly lose jobs to Canada and other places since healthcare is too expensive in the USA.

The Iraq war needs to be called out for what it is . . . an inefficient unnecessary government social program that is abused by government contractors and BENEFITS PEOPLE THAT HATE US.

Evil? In what respect, Xisiqomelir?

And Reilo, we need the link for those figure comparisons. 50 billion per year really isn't that much in today's standards.

Sure it will. We'll be wasting money on more socialist entitilement nonsense. That's money that we could be using to explore our military options against Iran. They're over there working on nuclear weapons, and you want to focus our attention on giving more free handouts?

Sure, it might save American lives in our own borders, but imagine how many more lives might be lost if Iran launched a nuclear attack on us or our allies that they might be theoretically capable of at some point?

Charging women for their own rape kits and being against abortion even in cases of rape, in a state where the rape rate is 2.5 times the nation's average, is pretty evil.

I didn't care much for socialized medicine until I had a girlfriend with type 1 diabetes. Then you start to realize the brutality that can be avoided. I also have family in Israel - so the threat of Iran destroying them is also quite real for me. However - looking at the too side by side, doesn't it make more sense to provide substantial quality-of-life improvements here and now, then to throw money towards a 'might happen'.

Couldn't you use that logic on every government program. Why spend money on education when we can spend it on the military and fight the 'evil doers'

Evil, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory bombing back to the Stone Age of anyone who's unfortunate enough to own the oil we want. Bonus points for Islamic Terrorism being the state religion.

I was riffing on the Charlie Gibson interview; but I still appreciate the immediate citation of an evil act committed by Palin. :lol

It cracks me up how quickly this woman is basically turning into Bush. This woman is clearly an idiot who knows nothing, and even has detrimental ideas about government, and we are all holding our breath until Nov. 5th, irate that this woman could actually be POW!'s veep.

Ron Paul, who inspired a fervent following in the GOP nominee, is not endorsing Libertarian nominee Bob Barr but a more obscure candidate.

Meet Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party candidate.

Per Reason's Dave Weigel, who knows this territory better than anybody, Baldwin seems to have an open mind about whether 9/11 was an inside job and would be an open to an investigation.

The snub of Barr, says Weigel, goes back to the former Georgia's congressman refusal to show up at a press conference earlier this month featuring Paul and other third-party candidates.

The political upshot here seems plain: It will be a lot tougher for Barr to draw support from Paulites without the support of the internet cult hero. Barr was already marginal and underfunded, and this only ensures he won't get a financial boost from Paul's golden touch. In a handful of key interior west states, that will likely translate to less llibertarian-leaning votes being siphoned from McCain.

I'm just glad the media is finally taking a stand. She never has anything of substance to say, and she won't answer questions, so by keeping her visibility down to a minimum they are effectively castrating her. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
