This forum shouldn't spend it's time shitting on the remnants of the old forum. I feel like we are better than that. Or at least we should be.


Also the most common reasons for sitting on Era are political reasons due to their strict SJW code. So it would go against the new rules anyway.

End of an era and good riddance. Stuff going in there was not ok even after the January warnings.
Let's focus on games and positive stuff.

One would think though that you would have just as much if not more difficulty modding political discussion OFF of the rest of the forum than you would within the politics section if you're that serious about it.
At least in the politics forum you knew where it was and it was contained.

But this is an forum image deal. You didn't like the image that you felt was being created or someone didn't.
That's fine.

There is always a place to discuss politics and a videogame forum isn't really the place at the end of the day.

Not for nothing, but that reminds me of gaming side. Thankfully the mods seemed to have been cleaning some of that up the past couple of weeks I noticed.
 
The number of places online where you can openly disagree with major political orthodoxies of our moment (eg., even expressing the slightest criticism of trans issues) without instant banning is dwindling fast.

it's funny and weird to see people get worked up about politics on music / video game forums lol

This I understand, but at least as an experiment it was a success I suppose.
Gaming and politics to me are very interesting subjects so if I can combine them at a brainwash level lower than reddit and a civility level higher than 4chan I consider that a twofer.

It's not written in stone that a forum can only be about 1 specific thing, right?

But, whatever. The boss is the boss and his word is law.

Woah. This is going to be like a breath of fresh air. Neogaf can be my go-to to get away from all the nonsense that percolates everywhere else.

Pretty solid decision. It was very US-centric and polarising anyhow. After living on both the east and west coast of Yankee land I can confidently say there are very few countries and populaces in the world that politicise everything the way yanks do. Keeping the focus on gaming and general OT is welcomed.

I checked it out as a sort of repository for Trump entertainment, I won't miss it from GAF.

This is basically what I wanted years ago when all the shit went down. People cant have civil discussions anymore, everyone has to either be completely right or completely wrong, nobody can ever meet in the middle anymore.
