Game journo biz is dying before our eyes.

Oh shit, I remember him lmao. What a weirdo.Psycho Ben Kuchera
Let it. Demand will still be here. What rises from the ashes will be greater than before. We could use some rain. Be brave. Only thru this cycle can we truly evolve. We could use some cleaning of the agendas out of gaming. Games should never be a source of social engineering. Maybe if they get wiped out financially for trying they will recognize their own evil and not try it again. AC Shadows enjoyers in shambles.Ftfy

Gies was insufferable.I never liked this site from day 1. Psycho Ben Kuchera, sanctimonious Arthur Gies and Chris Plante, and a whole bunch of purple hairs. No idea if any of them are still there or not. Well I guess not after today.
Gaming media has always been left leaning outlets with political angles and agendas dug into every nook and cranny, and Polygon has long been a frustrating relic of a time when bloggers and activists would get jobs they were never qualified to have.

Looks up Polygon journalists on X/Bluesky
They have pronouns on their Bios
checks out
Still sad to see people lost their jobs
The Verge was good when it launched. Polygon was underwhelming for the reasons you state. Then GG hit and it all went to shit. That also more or less coincided with Nilay Patel taking over The Verge and well that guy is a lunatic.I never liked this site from day 1. I want to join bluesky just to point and laugh a little. I can't believe they left for a new walled garden and it still got tilled.
In general, anything attention seeking skews left (media, celebs, athletes, companies promoting for PR pts etc...). They do it due to the nature of the people working there (attention whoring liberals to begin with) and it combines with aiming for an image of being giving and caring. So on paper, it sounds like a match made in heaven for success.Gaming media has always been left leaning outlets with political angles and agendas dug into every nook and cranny, and Polygon has long been a frustrating relic of a time when bloggers and activists would get jobs they were never qualified to have.
