I wouldn't object to that at all. Either him or Stan Lee (them not getting Stan as the MvC3/UMvC3 announcer was a huge missed opportunity in my eyes).
Huh, I didn't know that. I was very skeptical about the whole "If Sony wasn't involved, we wouldn't be making this game" thing for a while but I saw it repeated so many times that I started to believe it. Hopefully Capcom doesn't make that mistake again.Again, that's a common misconception. Capcom was on-track to release Street Fighter V in 2018 without Sony's help. Sony only stepped in to speed up the process since they wanted an in with eSports for the PS4. All things considered, Capcom's doing okay financially. The problem is that the execs play things too safe for their own good.
Agreed. While Capcom would probably be afraid of being blamed for the lost Fox characters (hell, it even put me off from wanting MvC4 in the near future for a bit), I'd say that they should go for it. If Angry Joe was willing to put in the research about how Capcom was doing updates for Street Fighter V, I'm sure he could help educate the others on what happened to Wolverine/Deadpool/Magneto/Doctor Doom/etc. in MvC4.I feel like the only "essential" F4 and X-Men characters they need to have in terms of legacy are Doom, Magneto, and Wolverine. That said, again, if they don't have any characters from those franchises and just use MCU stuff...I'd be fine with that. I rather them work under that limitation than not get MvC4 at all. Besides, there's tons of other great characters that could be used.
Don't necessarily need new franchises, because the characters in old ones have changed a lot. Need newcomers? Welcome to the family, son.
It's supposed to be out next year. And word through the grapevine has it that it'll be for the Guardians of the Galaxy (not sure about the validity of the rumor, but there were mentions of a survey).I haven't heard about this Marvel Telltale game.
You might be disappointed.Just give me a follow up to children of the atom & marvel super heroes with a rooster not determined by the current & upcoming MCU phase

No way it's not directly tied into the mcu.Just give me a follow up to children of the atom & marvel super heroes with a rooster not determined by the current & upcoming MCU phase
Yup, & Marvel only allowed him as DLC.That's how Marvel determined a large majority of it's line up in MvC3. From what I've heard Capcom had a hard time even getting Shuma.
Yeah, it was super weird that we didn't get Thanos, considering. That's how Marvel determined a large majority of it's line up in MvC3. From what I've heard Capcom had a hard time even getting Shuma.
I know,but I can dream.
*hears Onslaught "the dream is dead"
AHHH OMG!!!!
Honestly though I'd rather they just keep updating Marvel 3 with paid DLC and balance patches or something. I know it won't happen, but Marvel 3 plays perfectly right now (Zero, Vergil, Doom, Morrigan, Hsien-Ko, Jill, and Phoenix Wright aside)
Either way, they have to have classic Venom, none of that secret agent or alien crap. As well as THIS GUY FOR MARVEL 4
(Gene from God Hand)
That's the real X-Factor. Though I'm pretty sure that they're well-aware of the demand.the question should be
Does Capcom really want to make another MvC?
Has only been posted by Neoxon like 500 times.Sorry if this has been covered over the last 250+ posts but isn't Marvel banning game developers from using X-Men characters in future games, meaning that a new MvC game would be missing quite a few mainstays?

Neither Scarlet Witch or Quicksilver are Mangeto's kids, anymore. As for Vision, he may be a better fit for Cyclops' moveset. Sentinel's moveset would be better for Groot, & Captain Marvel would be better fit for Rogue's moveset.ok so if they actually ban the X-Men and F4 that would be real shitty
but we are going to need clones for wolverine, magneto, storm, doom and the robot because it ain't mahvel without them
Black Panther can have Wolverine's move set. He has claws and I can see him doing dive kicks and shit.
Loki can have Doom's move set because fuck you. He can shoot PLASMA BEAMS out of his stick thing from Avengers.
Scarlet Witch can have Magneto's move set. Like father, like daughter. If she's off limits, Vision would fit nicely here as well.
Sentinel would become Hulkbuster. Easy. Hyper Ironman Force.
Storm is a tough one. She also has a great and iconic moveset, but I don't know who it would translate to well. Maybe Captain Marvel? Wasp?
Yeah, I already carried over that post into this thread. If Capcom is willing to roll with the ban remains to be seen.Sorry if this has been covered over the last 250+ posts but isn't Marvel banning game developers from using X-Men characters in future games, meaning that a new MvC game would be missing quite a few mainstays?
I still remember the bickering between members on the Capcom forums for Phoenix Wright, X, and Gene being playable back in high school. Good times. If Marvel 4 happens I'd love to see all three of them in.
Is Telltale doing both DC and Marvel?
Could we voice ourselves?Telltale is doing everything.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see "NeoGAF: A Telltale Series" come out soon.
Wolverine hasn't been featured in a new Marvel game for a year now. As stated earlier, Marvel Entertainment doesn't really care about legacy. There's no way they won't have at least Wolverine. He's the only character that has been in every single Marvel fighting game by Capcom. Not even Ryu is in all of them.

It is up to Disney, not Capcom.the question should be

Contest of Champions was made before the ban was enacted. In fact, from the looks of it, Contest of Champions was the cut-off point. Every game made afterwards was X-Men/F4-free.I dunno man, the only reason the whole xmen/FF fiasco is happening is because the ex-owner of Marvel hates the Fox movies and doesn't want to support them. If I remember correctly that is.
They've already confirmed a bunch of X-Men characters for that terrible mobile fighting game apparently.

Marvel vs Capcom 4 is a matter of when, not if.
I think it's still an if, & I'm the optimistic one when it comes to Mahvel. Capcom has to be willing to pay the licensing fee, which has a 50/50 chance of happening.Marvel vs Capcom 4 is a matter of when, not if.
SonyBut....who will fund it?
I'd give it 80/20 forI think it's still an if, & I'm the optimistic one when it comes to Mahvel. Capcom has to be willing to pay the licensing fee, which has a 50/50 chance of happening.
At this point, I don't care if it's Marvel Super Heroes 2 or Marvel vs. Capcom 4. Though while the casuals may want the former more, the competitive scene would definitely go for the latter.Maaaaaaaan
I know this is unpopular but I don't want a versus Capcom game. I want a full on Marvel fighter that's not quite as fast and features a camera that zooms out instead of panning up.
Then maybe I'm not optimistic enough. Maybe you heard something from the inside about it *wink*?Sony
I'd give it 80/20 for
It's a great update. Still don't get why they released it 9 months later MvC3 came out. If they just waited 3 months, nobody would have felt gypped at the update.
So strange that Tatsunoko v Capcom only got a Wii release. Makes no sense at all.
Actually, Marvel gave Capcom that time-frame since they wanted early 2012 open for the cancelled tie-in game for the Avengers movie. Capcom would have made UMvC3's content DLC as well, but the tsunami in Japan at the time messed up their schedule. And we would have gotten more characters. They had to cut out like 4 more to make the holiday release Capcom was pushing.
I would absolutely love an updated port of UMvC3. I would honestly rather they release another update to that game to fix stuff like the terrible UI (health bars) and the button-mashing for supers. Maybe tweak the game systems some more, maybe add some new characters (more females, please).
Improved Netcode.
That would be much better IMO than starting from scratch with half the roster - which will never please anyone - and the potential for a worse game all-around.
Johnz sent over a translation by CAW Evolution of a recent interview 4Gamer.net did with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3's producer, Ryota Niitsuma. There aren't a ton of new details here, but here's a rundown regardless.
Initially, the plan was to include 58 characters in UMvC3 in order to surpass Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but due to scheduling this was an impossibility. For those of you keeping score at home, UMvC3 will have 50 characters in it, if you include Shuma and Jill as DLC.
The translator's impression from the article is that the higher-ups wanted this out by the end of the year (for Christmas), and Niitsuma and his team had to change their plans to accommodate this.
That ties into Marvel wanting the schedule of 2012 to be clear for that Avengers game from THQ, which ended up getting cancelled.http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/aug/09/niitsuma-wanted-58-characters-ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3/
Here's the relevant sadness.
Sony is not out of the financial hole yet. Gotta pick their battles.Sony
