Sony Interactive Entertainment seems to be doing just fine.Sony is not out of the financial hole yet. Gotta pick their battles.

Huh, I didn't peg you as a Cleveland Cavaliers fan. Still, I'm glad that you're feeling the optimism like I am.Come on capcom lets gooooo!!!! It's time for Mahvel again.I am sure Capcom can negotiate a deal for MvC4 with disney. In a world where last guardian has a release date and JR smith is a NBA champ I believe MvC4 is possible too. Lets goooO!!!!!
I know that feeling, my friend. I even thought of how the roster would pan out given the recent restrictions.Man, I'm getting myself excited for something that might not happen for a while. I've already started talking about possible character lineups with my friends.

Nova [Richard Rider]
To be fair, balancing a cast of 50+ characters is a pretty daunting task. Hell, it's a miracle that Smash 4 is as balanced as it is.
Amen to this, they could've at least given Arthur a ground dash.Balancing that many characters is tough for sure
That said, Capcom really didn't do themselves any favors when they designed certain characters.
Just compare somebody like Dormammu (1/3 screen covering projectiles, opponent-based teleports, 8 way airdashing, lots of combo potential etc.) to Arthur (slow ass walk speed and no dashes because it's "accurate to the games", world's stubbiest normals, his powerup super puts him at a disadvantages for some stupid reason etc.)
I really hope they dial that nonsense back, especially for the Capcom side. I don't want characters that are "super accurate" to their original games if it means they're complete garbage to play as.
Marvel Entertainment seems to be dialing back on Sam Alexander a bit as of late (he left the All-New All-Different Avengers recently, & he hasn't been featured on the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon in a while), & they let Gazillion have Richard Rider as the default Nova, so Richie has a shot. But what if it turns out to be the much hated Sam Alexander?
And also money. While in theory, Capcom could renew the license, they seem to be playing it too safe with their cash right now. A few risks wouldn't hurt every once-in-a-while, & something like MvC4 would be a worthwhile risk since the MCU hype is at an all-time high. But yeah, Disney & Capcom are friendly with one another. DuckTales Remastered is still being sold, was a PS+ game, & helped revive interest in the DuckTales IP.It's gotta be coming eventually. Disney and Capcom seem to be cool with each other, so I'm sure that'll make things a lot easier. I guess it's just a matter of the devs being at the right place at the right time.
Marvel put the X-Men characters off-limits, so it's not like that could happen anyway. That said, Marvel Super Heroes 2 would be a more apt name. As for the developer, Capcom would still be the best ones for the job given their experience with Marvel. How about Avengers VS X-Men with the SF5 engine. I could give a shit about any capcom characters. They don't even need to develop the game at all. Give it to the tekken devs or something. I just want a great Marvel fighting game.
It was always so unrealistic that Marvel characters could ever get their ass kicked by anyone in the Capcom roster anyway.
Make a D.C. vs Marvel fighting game already.
I will never understand posts like these. It was always so unrealistic that Marvel characters could ever get their ass kicked by anyone in the Capcom roster anyway.

But....who will fund it?
Good point. Haha.I will never understand posts like these.
Yeah man... Children of the Atom was SO UNREALISTIC, no way would Sentinel could ever hope to beat Magneto!
Or Injustice and Catwoman laying the smackdown on Superman without any Kryptonite involved.
In the case of Injustice, they explained it away with the 5U93R pills. But yeah, that's the kind of stuff you're supposed to hand-wave in fighting games.I will never understand posts like these.

NRS, ASW, Namco, probably Iron Galaxy.Outside of Capcom, which developer is qualified to make a Marvel spectacle fighter with depth?

Geoffrey Thorne said:The baseline is Morris can take over a person's body and essentially become them. He has access to every memory, every talent, and most important, every nuance of speech and behavior his host might have. There are no barriers when Morris takes a host. He is you. Not even a telepath could detect his presence unless he wanted them to. He cannot be detected or blocked by any conventional surveillance or defensive equipment, not even Stark-level tech. He is the perfect spy. He doesn't exist on the 'astral plane.' Morris physically takes over your body — sort of like a parasite or a virus made of energy. There are some other powers, one in particular, that I'm holding back, and limitations and drawbacks, which he and we will learn.

Nova already says it in one of his win quotes.Well then that is good to hear at least.
He really needs to say "Blue blazes!" upon being defeated.
Then it would just be Marvel Super Heroes 2. And while I wouldn't be opposed to that, it'd feel like something's missing.I hope they make Marvel vs. Capcom 4 and put out the garbage Capcom guest characters.
I want a Marvel fighting game not some crossover again.
I know that feeling, my friend. I even thought of how the roster would pan out given the recent restrictions.
MARVEL
* = Capcom would have to beg for this character, but it isn't impossible
- Iron Man
- Spider-Man [Peter Parker]
- Rocket Raccoon
- Captain Marvel (Rogue successor)
- Nova [Richard Rider]
- Star-Lord (Cable successor)
- Captain America
- Hawkeye [Clint Barton]
- Quicksilver* or Blade (Deadpool successor)

- Ms. Marvel (Super-Skrull successor)
- Taskmaster
- She-Hulk
- Thor
- Doctor Strange
- Dormammu
- Iron Fist
- Daredevil
- Ant-Man
- Falcon
- Wasp
This would put the hypothetical game at 58 characters, which is the same as Smash 4 & what Niitsuma originally wanted UMvC3 to be at.
I'd have to draw the line at cutting Nova. He stays, but Gamora can take Elsa Bloodstone's slot.I like your list, made some changes in what I hope we'd get if there ever was a MvC4.

NRS? I liked MKX just fine, but I'm still super disappointed that they didn't let Capcom just make the DC game instead because they're so much better at it.NRS, ASW, Namco, probably Iron Galaxy.
I think ASW can knock it out of the park if given the chance.
NetherRealm Studios is an in-house fighting game studio for WB Games. They have no reason to let anyone else handle DC fighting games.NRS? I liked MKX just fine, but I'm still super disappointed that they didn't let Capcom just make the DC game instead because they're so much better at it.
No reason why we can't have both in MvC4.Not gonna lie, I have a personal grudge against Nova as I felt Captain Marvel could've had his spot in the previous game. :lol
Nova already says it in one of his win quotes.
Ah, fair enough.Yes, though I see it being more appropriately used as a death cry. Course he kind of says that loads of times regardless.
Rocket was included because of the then-planned Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Those lists seem too safe for a company that put MODOK and Rocket Raccoon in MVC3
and Spiral and Marrow in MVC2
I'd expect another off the wall, crazy choice or two. Maybe Arnim Zola? Speedball?
I'd think Cloak and Dagger have a shot, since they have that TV show coming up.
Baron Zemo seems plausible because of Civil War
I think we'd see Moon Knight
Mockingbird would be nice to replace gambit.
Elsa Bloodstone would be fun to pit against the Monster Hunters of that franchise
I could see a good amount of Thunderbolts because that may or may not be coming as a movie
Night Thrasher might be getting a push...maybe he'd get in?
I'm hurt. I'm more like a mid-tier George, on his best day.Neoxon please stop. You're like a low tier Dahbomb, it's painful to read your posts.
Huh, I didn't peg you as a Cleveland Cavaliers fan. Still, I'm glad that you're feeling the optimism like I am.
You & my dad would get along just fine.Yeah I am NY Knicks fan since i am from NYC but I am also a big lebron fan. Good to see the king exposed curry as the fraud he is. Return of the king!!!
Also please capcom make MvC4 happen please.
i pretty much demand every marvel character from mvc2 to return or else!
Street Fighter V is doing fine competitively, & the FGC has been reaching new heights thanks to it. Granted, SFV had a rocky start, but it has a bright future ahead of it competitively. Even if MvC4 happens, SFV will probably remain as the top game of the Capcom Pro Tour. After the SFV problems... A MvC game would ease the tensions and would bring an exciting game for the Capcom Pro Tour.
Not likely. Sprites are hella expensive to make, with even the likes of Guilty Gear & King of Fighters moving on to 3D models. If MvC4 ever happens do you think a sprite based 2d game like MvC2 or 1 or heck even SF vs Marvel (which was my personal favorite vs game) can succeed in this day and age? I really hope so. Tired of the 2.5D design over the last decade. I know most anime games are still old 2d style. But who plays anime FGs? lol....joking lol obviously some people do.
