I'm really in two (or even three) minds about the Marvel 4 news, if indeed all true.
On the one hand do I love the X-Men more than pretty much all other Marvel characters but on the other hand would I be glad to see some of the older X-Men based designs from the Vs series go to avoid having them back with the same exact move sets (that were quite often not that authentic to the actual character, let's be honest - Wolverine without re-gen, Magneto with energy blasts, a random small Sentinel being OP?) and top tier placement that makes every veteran player flock to them once more.
I think this series needs some freshing up for sure, especially to give new players a chance to get into as well, so in that sense I might actually applaud the removal of people like Dr. Doom, Magneto, Wolverine and especially Sentinel who have become far too integral to the Marvel lingo and culture (imo). At the same time having no X-Men at all, especially not redesigned ones, does suck if it's due to the usual licensing problems like Marvel not wanting to promote other studios' movies even if they still have comics in those series to promote themselves as well.
Embracing change and moving beyond the familiar generally is something I support but perhaps not if it's forced upon us as the result of backroom politics. I'm conflicted how to feel here, in other words. Yay for more Marvel at least I guess, even if this might come at the cost of a new Darkstalkers, Rival Schools or even a *gasp* new fighting game IP (all of which I might actually prefer at this point, which is another conflict raging inside me these past days)?
