I hope we get a good amount of villains. Maybe Punisher and Kingpin. Marvel's so hero-centric. Kingpin's always been my favorite Marvel villain tho. Michael Keaton's Vulture would be pretty sick.
What are the odds we'll see Quake? I think she and Coulson have been confirmed for Infinity War. Altho seemingly impossible, Kyle Mclaughlin's Mister Hyde would be sweet.
But really, Blade tho. This could be his intro line. I feel like I have to really lobby for him because he's generally pretty shit.

Exactly, and with PLENTY of folks to choose from outside of the X/FF families. Not the end of the world, but people will keep throwing the MCU under the bus until we actually start seeing the roster.

I liked E.X. Troopers, I wouldn't mind getting Bren as a Capcom rep.
Bren Turner: the modern age Jin Saotome. He can even have his mech to do a "BLODIAAA" styled hyper (but closer to Jojo styled rush punches). Has punches and kicks, super moves that could easily work as hypers, a jet pack to zip around, a grapple hook (though sadly context sensitive only), multiple weapons. He could definitely work. The only thing that works against him is that he's fairly obscure, Japan only, a bit too "anime" for Marvel, and not even that successful (nor a fan favorite due to Megaman Legend fans thinking EX Trooper replaced MML3)
Not to mention feige has the entire MCU planned out til 2030 or some shit. Wouldn't be surprised if they were giving "suggestions" (read: orders) to the MVC team when it comes to character inclusions.
You think Dr Strange and Rocket Raccoon being added to UMVC3 was a coincidence? 😌

Pretty weak list, even if all of them made it in. Mostly duds.
Do you think the game will only have three villains in the base roster? I would be extremely surprised if so. Also I don't know about Quake. Maybe Ike Perlmutter or people that share his opinions would push for her because of the TV connection, but on the other hand not many people like her or even knows who she is. I think Ghost Rider is more likely simply because he's an established MvC character, is relatively popular, and is also an MCU TV character.
Most of the MCU villains weren't huge hits (MCU-Netflix aside), so it wouldn't surprise me. Plus I can't see them leaving out Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians.

I don't know about awful, but I'm really starting to get tired of the MCU. And that surprises me because I'm such a superhero nerd it's absolutely pathetic.
I just feel like the MCU's novelty of having all these characters together is much better than most of their actual movies. And that's just one of my issues. There are a few good ones for sure, but yeah.
...Usually when I say this people release the fucking hounds.
Part of me is happy that the X-Men/FF aren't in, because the franchise has too many fan favorites that they admittedly felt obligated to put into MvC3.

I dunno how I feel about no x men, but truth be told I'm one of those guys who just really liked the 90s cartoon. My wants and desires are fueled on nostalgia without giving a fuck about whats modern and "in" these days.
Honestly though I think Whatever is modern should be more highlighted in a current game. I'm not one of those guys who would tell you. "if you wanna play this character just play one of the old games" but the direction that marvel is taking is with there movies. There really popular movies.
I still would like a bone cause of the history of the franchise. Even if it were dlc. 90s Xmen pack DLC. And with no care of being part of the problem I would buy that shit in a heartbeat. But if there is no Rogue , Gambit or Cyclops. then maybe not too fast.

Its possible they could work out a deal for a dlc pack of returning X-Men characters or something. But I would imagine they want their xmen-free roster to be pushed for the base game so they get the spotlight. They can appease fans of the series with additional characters later.
Seeing as how Ultimate Alliance was remastered under this new Marvel Games regime, we know they are not 100% opposed to releasing something that has FOX movie characters present.
But I'm not getting my hopes up.
I fully expect Thanos, Ultron, Dormammu, & Loki to show up in some capacity (more so Thanos, Dormammu, & Loki).
