He'd probably be Sentinel + Nemesis.Groot could be similar to Nemesis, large brute character with long reaching branch moves instead of tentacles. Just hopefully without Nemesis' scaling issues.

Ono oversees multiple fighting and non-fighting game projects at Capcom. He's involved in everything, but is also clearly a prominent voice/figure for their fighting game division. Why would Ono be involved in Marvel 4?
He should be busy trying to sell SFV.
Go "fuck it" and replace/add a bunch of move where he calls in assists from spirit of justice npcs. Here's the question I've been thinking about: how would they balance Phoenix Wright? I'd really like if they somehow made him viable but I can't imagine it happening without drastic changes.
You'd think he'd have his Blanka doll if he was teasing anything.Has no one mentioned this?

We already had Iron Man with good air movement in Vanilla Marvel 3. He just didn't have good ground movement.
His normals are very good but very narrow and lack the cross up ability. He is still very weak from below unlike Doom which can Foot Dive from below.
I think of they just give him a proper ground dash that's fine by itself. That way at least he can position himself. He would work like a Nova type character then. I think as Marvel has evolved, characters with no way to plink around on either ground or ground got a lot weaker. Iron Man was one of the victims of this.

112 pages baby!
Dormammu is 4 pages all by himself, I realized. lol
It's nostalgic looking back at this document. I should read through it and see how much of this I still agree with.

Also I've been dying for a BoF character. Nina or Fou-Lu would be great picks but it'll never happen![]()

3 MORE DAYS... HYPE
The MCU focus is disappointing, in that it could restrict the roster.
Excited to see new additions to the Capcom side though.
No one in that poll (except Thor) has been in a Marvel movie. The whole poll is a joke.
You do realize that this isn't Capcom's fault, right?![]()

Wait, you're telling me Capcom made a new game in one of their beloved IPs after years of fan demand, and managed to somehow find a way to fuck it up on a fundamental scale? I for one am shocked.
Oddball picks for the Capcom side: Linn Kurosawa and Gene
^BTW unfortunately posts like this will be a regular occurrence all over the internet. Capcom will catch the blame for the no X-men ordeal HARD.
If Marvel was a true bro they should squash this from the beginning somehow by saying it's their decision.

Nope, I'm still #teambelieveThe Inhumans are totally going replace the X-Mem lol.
I really really really don't understand the Necalli love. He is such a horrible character, design wise.
Fucker can't even formulate proper sentences.
At this point if no marvel fighting game or port with patch is mentioned its gonna explode against capcom after all this buildup this week. At minimal a port of UMVC3 would be something but if it was just a port with no patch it'd get slaughtered by people raging.
Here's hoping it truly is the full sequel we've heard rumored and not just the UMVC3 port hinted at that someone mentioned it sounded like Polygon was hinting at as well.
Worst case...nothing.
Best case Marvel 4 and UMVC3 update port with patch to play till it launches. (And likely after.)
No problem, Vesper was actually really down with the idea when I suggested it to him. Our plan (or at least after we recorded that video) is to do more Mahvel & Injustice discussions together since I have the comic book knowledge. I think I'm coming back for the podcast after PSX/CC, so I'll likely be talking about more than just Mahvel.I hope that discussion you did with Vesper is heard by a lot of people. Thanks for doing that, btw. If more people know all the details about what Marvel is doing to the X-Men/F4 characters, then less of the blame will be put onto Capcom. Capcom are the ones I'm really worried about in all this, and by extension, the future of the fighting game genre/FGC.
Not Capcom's fault the community falls into a hype echo chamber.
I mean, they earned that reputation over the last 5 years or so. They made a ton of dumb decisions.Oh man. Ain't that the truth. Capcom is probably the company not named Konami that people like to blame the most.
Yeah, really. One dream gets posted and suddenly its rumored and true because this guy said so etc etc etc.
Marvel is even more rabid than Smash in rumors and fans IMO.
Yeah, lol. This thread is ridiculous.
Wait, this is a 2nd thread isn't it? LOL
I hope it happens.
This is it right here. You see it in Smash as well. Not Capcom's fault the community falls into a hype echo chamber.
I whole-heartedly agree. At this point, I'll even take a reduction of Fox representation down to the bare essentials (Wolverine, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, & Magneto) if it means having them represented in the game at all.As someone who has been following Marvel on and off for some time, I can assure you that most folks who research know Marvel is being really vindictive over X-Men. We need to throw fire and brimstone at Marvel's treatment of a beloved series that many of us 90's kids grew up with.
To mirror what others said, I am gravely concerned for Capcom's sake in light of this situation. They maybe doing OK, but there was a lot of turmoil over how SF5 launched. I whole headily agree that Capcom is not the enemy here, they just by chance are that one company that had a lot of dealings with Marvel in their career and I doubt anyone else could make Marvel Vs Capcom IP AS GOOD as Capcom does.
It also would be really silly for another studio to pick up the MvC IP and develop it anyway.
That being said, I also agree with what Maximilian Dood has said in his latest video about how strange it would be to not see a MvC series NOT built on X-men characters-- because the legacy and the hype train that became the MvC series was built on the backs of X Men characters.
I want to see the X Men in this game. They NEED to be there, they DESERVE to be there. This should not be a question of who or why, it simply should BE.
And that happens whether it's a popular character like Megaman Classic or someone the majority of prospective consumers don't give a fuck about like Geno.
it's me, i'm the one who is outraged over no taskmaster
That's an iffy question. The average joe mainly cares about the MCU characters, but Deadpool's absence when he's at the height of his popularity will definitely hurt the game's sales. The question is how much the game will suffer for it if the worst-case scenario happens.if there are no X-men in MvC4, do you expect it to sell fewer copies than MvC3?
X-Men being out would defintely cause a shitstorm, but I think the 2v2+1 assist rumor being true would also piss a lot of people off, especially Marvel fans.
True, but you have to admit that people will notice that Deadpool's missing (same for Wolverine). It may not be a major drop in potential sales, but it'll be some kind of drop.Game will do fine with or without xmen they'll hype up guardians + avengers and that'll get casuals in the door
