I have a pretty powerful PC, yet NFS2U2 runs like shit sometimes. Is it just the game?

Most of the time it runs fine, very smooth, and sometimes it slows down to a slide show for several seconds, even if there is nothing very advanced on the screen.

Anyone else experienced this? And why does not the game support 1280x1024? EA games seems to have an issue with this, BF1942 and BF-Vietnam have the same problem, lack of 1280x1024 support, annoying!

Otherwise the game is quite fun.

I had a similar problem with Toca Race Driver 2. I found that if I diasbled my net connection, closed my sygate firewall and ended CCAPP.exe(Norton Antivirus) in task manager processes the game would remain smooth and not slow down once a lap.

Might be worth a go if you have similar programs running.

The game just runs like crap regardless of your machine...

There is nothing you can do.

Check your PCI Latency settings. My Radeon 9800 Pro had a latency of 255 It was hogging the resources. Poor Sound card had a latency of 32

Get a software called Powerstrip and check out the PCI latency settings.

2) Disable useless services. Type services.msc in "Run" command box and disable services you don't need.

It would help if you posted your system specs.

Regardless, it's a system hog.. It runs at 20-30fps on my 3200+, 9800XT, 256MB rig.
