Popeyes Debuts New Cookie-Coated Chicken Tenders

The latest menu item from Popeyes, new Sweet & Crunchy Tenders, feature a coat of shortbread cookies for its namesake sweet and crunch.

You can get three of the new, limited-time chicken breast tenders, a side, a biscuit, and Smokin' Pepper Jam sauce (or other sauce of your choice) for $5 at participating locations.

Popeyes tends to roll out a new limited menu item roughly every month and they only stick around for about a month. The Sweet & Crunchy Tenders will be around through June 25, 2017.

Now I want them to add some peanut flavor to the shortbread. Like the TJ cookie butter coating.
The waffle chicken was too sweet for me to want it as a meal, but I would grab one off someones plate.

Don't sleep on Popeye's. I scoffed at the Waffle Tenders until I tasted them. Far better than I expected. Homemade no but better than many other chicken establishments out there. This is interesting to use shortbread cookies in the batter. I've used cornflakes, ritz, cheese its, and pepperidge farm goldfish to bread/batter chicken. I love fried chicken! It and my homemade mac and cheese with goldfish/breadcrumbs/italian seasonings crust are my best dishes for cookouts!

Shortbread is my favourite thing in the world, I ate a full giant tub of it over Christmas, it was like a million calories but so good.

I've been struggling with what to eat tonight and now I know, good looking out OP!

My local Popeyes has two apple pies for $1, not sure if all locations have this, and they are probably the best hot fast food desert I've eaten.

I think it's more for the item. Since it's franchised some places have different menus and specials. I'm sure price is the same but more based on location.

I finally tried their waffle ones a while back. While fairly good, there was some weird slight aftertaste that didn't taste right. So I'm not expecting too much.

Well. They're not sweet. So that's confusing.

They are crunchy, and there is a hint of cookie after taste. They are a lot like the Waffle ones.

Reminds me of chicken breasts made into tenders using broken up Captain Crunch. That shit is delicious. Indont care for Popeye tenders though. They're pretty skimpy on the meat.

Honestly i can't imagine it tasting that much different from regular bbq chicken since that sauce has so much sugar in it anyway. The texture might be different though. I'll give it a try if I get a chance.
