Saw, that's not me being passive, I genuinely have no fucking clue what to do :p

Who do you want to lynch this Day Phase, then?

I mentioned the timing as making a joke like that seems like something you might do right at the start of the first day in your first post or two, not six hours into it and on your fourth post. It's a weak point but I mainly wanted to say something else about it beyond not liking the joke.

Who do you want to see lynched today, Kalor? o:

Now that I think about it, Sawneeks was the only one to defend QuantumBro's "just a joke" bullshit excuse.

Hmmm.

I'm not the only one who thought it was a poor joke. :/

Where are you getting that I defended it?

Seriously though, I'm considering the theories. Haven't had enough time to decide who I want to go for.

Well you don't have to decide 100% right now who you want dead, we still have 2 more days to figure that out, I'm more asking who you're leaning towards at the moment. Some talk about your opinions/leaning is better than none at all.

My problem is basically that I really can't decide if i believe LoC's claim or not. If I do, lynch Haly. If I don't, lynch him.

QB was a scum dumb enough to let his alignment slip and tried playing it off as a joke. A scummate could've easily gone along with it to try to convince everyone else it was nothing serious.

I don't think you are scum though, Sawneeks. But we can't rule out any possibilities.

I'd like to hear a little more about LoC's vig claim. I agree with Sawneeks, why would LoC out their ability so quickly? If you have the ability to snipe people during the night phase, why not keep that quiet to keep scum away from you? But then if Sawneeks is questioning LoC's role, why not put their feet to the fire instead of Kalor?

Why not keep your role a secret, and why would you so aggressively target Haly?

Why would I reveal this if I'm scum? What would I have to gain?

I want to lynch Haly because I think they're scum. Same reasin I tried to kill them last night.

The trigger for me wantinhlg to kill Haly over the other inactives, kuje say Flameac was the "good job team" type message posted after QB was killed. Keeping in context that Haly hadn't posted in days. It screams scum.

Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
I get you wanting to lynch me so bad you'd target me for a vig kill but I still don't understand why you thought announcing that your kill failed would convince people to vote for me. Since when was surviving a vig kill a scum tell?

Honestly given that town lynched scum successfully on D1 and scum missed town last night, I can't see them throwing away a second member just to get Haly lynched. The motivation isn't strong enough.

There's a strong difference between being scum and being a dumb townie. Feeling a lot more of the latter from LoC.

It is also possible he's one shot, and felt revealing himself (and potentially drawing a night kill after) now was the best course of action. Lets not call people dumb at this point.

Also Pop-O-Matic claimed scum yesterday. Why not lynch him?

Godfather is a role that's used here. It's not the only explanation, but it's just as possible as others.

For the record I don't think LoC is scum. On the contrary, no sane scum would go out on a limb like this after getting nailed D1. I just really feel a disconnect between the vig claim and his scumread.

I guess he thinks the probability of you being bulletproof town is lower than you being bulletproof scum. And the chances of you being protected by a town doctor are lower than you being protected by a scum ally.

I actually agree with that. If I'm a doctor, I don't use my ability N1 on Haly. I use it on the people that were key in getting QB lynched.

Taking that logic into consideration, could a town doctor have used their ability to protect me then?

You're more of a mystery, given that we have no idea what the call out ability was or the circumstances under which it was canceled.

I'm questioning LoC's role because he claims to be a multi-shot who missed 1 out of however many shots he has and then decided to claim. 'Jumping the gun' is putting it lightly and I think that he claimed far too early.

But like CornBro said, Scum outing themselves like this after a Scum Day 1 lynch and a Neutral NK doesn't make any sense from a Scum perspective. That would be 1 Scum down and another who just gained a lot of unneeded attention for what? 1 lynch? It's not worth it. Therefore I think he is Town so I don't feel the need to put his 'feet to the fire', but if you want to then go ahead. If he's lying we will eventually find out but considering the circumstances I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Godfather is a role that's used here. It's not the only explanation, but it's just as possible as others.

Uh, maybe I'm thinking of a different Godfather but aren't they typically only to counter a Cop? Since when were they also BP?

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
I agree, I would've protected crab.

Anyway I decided to look through QB's readlist:

Town:
Pop-O-Matic
I don't think QB would've been so obvious as to "read" a scum partner Town. Also, when they were tied, Pop could've made a triple tie using kryptik or flame_ac. There was no need to self-preservation bus an inactive scum partner just then.

(For new players, a "bus" is when scum votes for their own partner if the situation looks unsalvageable, to build credit. As in "throw under the bus".)
Lean Town:
Lord of Castamere
CornBurrito
Kalor
Sawneeks
I think there's another scum here. If it's not CB or LoC it could be Kalor or Sawneeks. At first I thought it was Sawneeks because she and QB both voted combine42 in D1 but looking at the votes this is unlikely. Near the end of D1, Bronx was the only vote on QB. Crab was vote number two, and Sawneeks number three. I don't think she would've put a fellow scum at risk like that. On the other hand, kalor got in a final vote on QB that did fuck all, which really seems like a "might as well bus him" vote.

Scum:
CCS
combine42
kryptikjoker
Yeah combine42 is definitely not scum. Leaning CCS and kryptic as not scum either. Funny how he put 3 new players as scum.

Lean Scum:
Bronx-Man
Evilisk
Gonna go out on a limb and say Bronx-Man is town.

Can't tell:
Burbeting
Crab
Flame_AC
Haly
Not
Coppanuva
I think there's at least one scum in here and it's probably Burbeting, who also got a bus vote on QB before day's end. Less convincing than Kalor though, because Burbeting could've created a tie using Pop. Maybe they decided the situation was hopeless and opted to sacrifice QB than risk Burbeting as well?

Unrelated, I still don't this:
Well we all need to post once per day in the Pop sub forum for our votes to count, per our role pm.

This was the line that got him killed by Bronx-man but there's nothing about mandatory posting in his role PM.

Just catching up, been celebrating thanksgiving with family so don't have a ton.to contribute right now, but I'm still confused as to why loc claimed early. I don't see how haly surviving would mean he was scum for sure. I also don't see him being scum though since like people have pointed out it just doesn't make sense.

Pop, how are you doing today?

Saw, I didn't feel particularly strongly about Haly, but she was on my list of potential lynches for inactivity. Ultimately though, she was more active than others, so I didn't suggest her for lynch.

I don't remember if I mentioned LoC om day one, he certainly doesn't stick in my mind as having been strong town or strong scum. Could go either way to be honest.

Actually, now I think about it more, I'm kind of tempted just to ignore the whole LoC/Haly thing for now. Muddies the waters and I don't yet have a strong sense of if LoC was telling the truth or not.

Also, ignore anything I ever post on a Friday night, it's going to be drunk and incoherent :p

So yeah, I might as well get to explaining myself before talking about anything else, shouldn't I?

Well, first off, my scum claim...yeah, it was an #UnnecessaryGambit. It wasn't me trying to joke or anything, I did honestly have a reason to make that claim. I wanted to get something out there immediately and get some info to get people actually discussing instead of just letting D1 be nothing but BS until the bell, but that plan really only had marginal success. I could have tried to tell you this later in D1, but I felt like doubling down might do me better than trying to go back on my claim when it was already looking like I might get the noose, especially since it might get the people who genuinely thought I was scum to potentially back off in case I was being out there because I actually had some insane ability that would trigger once I was lynched.

As far as my votes go, voting for Not was simply an early D1 pressure vote (and, TBH, I do feel their name is gonna make them a bit of a nuisance to write about), but I did genuinely believe that there was a chance that both Kalor and QB were scum, and am thrilled that we actually got scum D1. Still not too sure of Kalor right now, though. His explanation for voting QB yesterday checks out, but he hasn't contributed anything else today beyond two brief fluffy posts. Should keep an eye on him JIC.

To address Sawneeks's concerns regarding my QB vote at the end, I probably would have voted for someone like Burb or Flame if QB didn't start building up votes at the end there, as, even though I didn't really think of either of them as scum, I don't want to die so early after just coming back to GAFia, I didn't want to throw a newbie like kryptik or evilisk under the bus, and I figured tie that would have resulted from that vote might get more people out there to actually vote at the end there.

Anyway, to move on to more recent developments, LoC's claim & accusation of Haly is disconcerting. I don't see much reason to fake claim multi-shot vig. If LoC's town, he basically just signed his own death warrant tonight, while if he's scum, even if LoC is trying to pull off a play like bussing a Scum!Haly to make himself look town for the remainder of the game, every day after we don't get two night kills is just gonna make him look more and more suss. Right now I say we give LoC a chance to confirm his role tonight. If he succeeds and we get two kill flips tomorrow morning, we can start taking his accusations seriously, while if we still get only one flip tomorrow morning and it isn't LoC, then he should be put under a LOT of scrutiny.

And now on to my actual vote for the day. I'm gonna Sawneeks here and assume that we have a better chance of hitting scum by looking at who voted for QB instead of who didn't, partially because it's a smaller pool to fish through and, as someone who's played scum before and won[/I I can tell you that, to win as scum, you have to look town, and the easiest way to look town is to kill scum, or at the very least make it look like you're trying to kill scum while everyone else is barking up the wrong tree. While I assume that scum didn't want to initially bus QB, as killing one of their own so early in the game is not the best of plans, so Crab and Sawneeks are pretty unlikely as they're the ones that pretty much started the train at the end there. I assume the later voters like myself, Burb or Kalor might be scum that jumped on the bandwagon and collect the towine brownie points once they see how the winds were blowing and realizing that QB wasn't gonna be active to defend themselves, but to me, of the 6 who voted for QB, I'm gonna go for the one who sticks out the most to me.

Vote: Bronx-Man

Why? Truth be told, he was the first one to REALLY call out QB's bs and until the end was the only one who thought his slips warranted a lynching until the end of the day. To me, if I was scum, I'd always make sure to hammer hard on my teammates mistakes, especially in a situation like early D1 where my teammates would hopefully have ample opportunity to correct their mistakes. I'm think Bronx wanted to look hard on QB so that if he flipped (hopefully at a later point, since he probably thought/hoped that QB would either did himself out of his hole or that otherwise most people would shrug off QB's joke), that he could point back there and claim that he was right all along, looking more town. And of course, in the counter scenario where Bronx got lynched before QB, the fact that what we seem to be learning from QB's flip doesn't line up with his previous slips implies that Bronx's wouldn't either, and that QB's slips failing to line up with the actual scum flavor would make him look less scummy.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
But Bronx-man was the first vote on QB and never changed his vote. Like, it's one thing to pre-bus your teammate to build cred but it's another thing to just go for their throat and not let up.

That's EXACTLY why I'm suspicious of him. Letting off (especially after QB's poor attempt to justify his slips) would just make it too obvious. Keeping on him would give him much more town cred.

Haly

I forgot which fallacy this is but you're looking at it from the point of view of Bronx-man being scum, trying to figure out his scum-play, then using that play as proof of Bronx-man being scum. I think this falls under the umbrella of circular logic? For example

Prove that Crab is a Templar
Given that a Templar would never reveal that he was a Templar
Given that Crab never gave any indication of being a Templar
Therefore, Crab must be a Templar

Occam's Razor says he's town who caught a whiff of scum and went all in.

It earns town cred but I don't know if the scum team would want to lose their tracker on the first day. Maybe if they were a ordinary scum member it would make more sense but a tracker can be a useful role. I'm sure at least one scum member voted for him but I doubt that it would have been Bronx.

Who do you want to see lynched today, Kalor? o:

I don't have any clear inclinations right now in terms of who I want to see lynched. I know this'll bring the heat on me, which is why I tend to fluff, but I know I as a newbie wouldn't spend three paragraphs trying to suddenly defend myself with straightforward logic. Reeks of newbie tactics, if I'm familiar enough with RL mafia

Evilisk hasn't posted today either but they did mention that their activity might be irregular.

I'm not looking at it from the POV of Bronx being scum. I'm looking at the play and making my judgement based on the kind of plays I would make as scum in that situation. If Bronx is scum, he's doing EXACTLY what I would have done in that scenario, and is in fact what I did do in Final Fantasy.

You and I ain't the same man, amigo. Not even close. I don't know how you would play in scenarios like this and I don't care. But I'll entertain this.

Let's say I'm scum. I'm the scummiest scum to ever scum and QB just blew his cover. Why would I immediately try to lynch him when there's still a big chance he could be saved? No one else made a vote on him for an entire DAY until the deadline started approaching. Hell, if I didn't make the first vote on him, town probably would've settled for a townie just so they could say they had a lynch on D1, and the whole scum team would still be assembled.

I was sitting here, nodding my head going 'yes, yes, I agree with this' up until your vote.

I considered Bronx being Scum as well, he was really quiet and fluffy, but after QB flipped Scum that basically eliminated that possibility. Unless he decided to go for QB and kill him very early on Day 1 I don't see how he could be Scum. I mean, it's possible he voted for QB for the slip and then just went inactive and never moved his vote, but he had a chance to move it after QB's response ( which he responded to ) and he never did.

I did realize after that post that today would probably be the best day for lynching Haly since no-one sticks out, at least to me anyway. Better to take the risk on someone after we lose a scum and neutral rather than in several days time where we may have lost several town. The thing that makes me wary of lynching Haly is how they've slowly and quietly been gathering votes. Two of the votes being "I guess I'll leave his vote here... for now.". If they were scum, the scum team would have no trouble diverting attention to someone else with the level of activity that we've been getting.

Hm, well I sort of agree with you there. The two votes being for the same reason don't sit well with me either, Flame's is the worst offender, but 3 votes out of 15 players is nothing crazy. If Haly ends up flipping Town I agree it would be something to take a look into.
