I hope i'm allowed to post GPD Win screens :)

Premise: I still haven't do any optimization, shut down useless services and programs and so on so i expect a little frps gain after that.

Condemned Criminal Origins: 720p, default settings(medium i think, i'm not sure), around 28-30fps on average.

Renegade Ops: 720p, low settings, around 28-30 fps on average

Next i hope to post Star Wars KOTOR(Yay!) and Shadowrun Dragonfall(that i have already tried and runs well, i didn't have a fps counter on though)

Moar FAST.

Unfortunately the rain effect doesn't screenshot well because Tepenaca(sp?) Vale is beautiful, especially on the screen.

The lighting is super good on that track!

So Switch screenshots is suddenly in portable section, huh?

We'll i guess the Switch is as portable as consoles get.

Some nice shots in this thread but please be mindful of spoilers.
I've been snapping some awesome shots of Zelda. What's the best way to export? I've been using Twitter/saving from Twitter to phone so far.

Been playing Shovel Knight in portable mode mostly. I still prefer a Dpad but the stick actually doesn't feel bad at all.

I've been using twitter as well.

Seems Switch is really hybrid - because screenshots posted in both portable and console screenshots threads, i don't mind of course, just interesting.

Since the switch games run with differences between the docked and undock, I believe that you can put the undock screens here, no?

And, of course, the docked images on the console screenshot thread.

Screenshots from portable mode are, yes. Which is just as well, since the thing is a portable console which the games that are being screenshot
(-ted?)
are running on. No different from the Vita (not during remote play) or a 3DS.
At least I'd hope no one is/will be posting docked mode screenshots here.

Anyway, to contribute to the thread, here are two Switch portable mode screenshots from me. I'm going to spoilertag them to be on the safe side (don't know how sensitive people are to this).
First one is from the last chapter of the Super Bomberman R story mode, the second one is from I am Setsuna. I don't know quite how far into the game that one is, but I can say that I've played for quite some hours now and I suspect it's somewhere relatively close to the end, but again, I'm not sure.

For Zelda at least. According to Digital Foundry the graphics are exactly the same between Zelda docked and undocked. Literally exactly the same outside of resolution and since the system outputs screenshots in 720p regardless I can't seem their being a need to differentiate.

Of course if a game has a difference outside of resolution there of course should be differentiaotion.

Dragon Quest have. The portable version looks very blurry.

Wouldn't screenshots still look (ever so slightly) different since the game is rendered in 900p instead of 720p? Even in a 720p screenshot, the 900p render should look a bit cleaner than a 720p render, no?
I have no clue about these things, so I might just be spouting nonsense.

Switch is as much as a portable as Vita. Just because it has a dock that can be played on the tv doesn't make the handheld device portion any less of a portable. If having a dock disqualifies it then PSTV disqualifies Vita.

It's way more powerful than last gens handhelds but, hey thats how gaming progress goes. :)

I don't believe it downsamples but I could be wrong. I'm not in a position to get test shots right now.

Holy crap that looks insane.

Some shots of my own

How the hell are people having screen shots from Breath of the Wild that look so damn clean?

On my Switch screen itself is doesn't look that clean, and when posting to twitter/saving to phone/computer....they sure as hell don't look as clean as the shots here

Those particular shots are just.... twitter images uploaded to imgur.

Twitter seems to be of the same quality as taking shots directly from the SD-card. Facebook, on the other hand, compresses them further.

And you took those in handheld mode? I swear they look better than the game looks when I'm playing directly on the switch. Haha. The couple I've uploaded to twitter look jaggy as all hell

I just randomly take shots as I play whenever something catches my eye I honestly can't remember which mode I was playing those in (I think they are mixed)

Anyway, your shot looks fine I just always try to put link closer to the camera to minimize the aliasing.

For example this shot
Was for certain taken in handheld mode (although I think this was a facebook upload)

Because Nintendo themself says it's a console ;)

Because Nintendo themself says it's a console ;)

At the end of the day, all the power is in a small portable device with a screen and physical controls. You can play natively without having the dock, but you can't play at all without having the Switch tablet. Despite what Nintendo says, logic says this is a portable that connects to a TV and not a home console you can take on the go. The entire point of the term "home console" as opposed to "portable console" is to say the system can't be used outside of the home, so if it can, it's a portable.

Agree, but that is still not what Nintendo is saying :)

So looks like there is a slight difference between handheld and docked mode screenshots. I apologize.

I'll have to be better about figuring which are which before posting

People are really bitching about the Switch screenshots? It's a handheld!

Reminds me of the early days of Wii U when a certain group of posters attacked those for posting screenshots in the next gen console thread.
